Liberalism calls for punishing constructive behavior through punitive regulation and taxation, and rewarding bad behavior by every available means. Consequently, in New York — which has legalized recreational marijuana in contravention of federal law — only criminals will qualify for lucrative licenses to sell pot.

The New York Post reports on draft regulations of the Cannabis Control Board:

“If the applicant is an individual, or an entity with one or more individuals, at least one individual must be justice involved,” the bureaucratese states.

Liberals euphemize the bad things that they like. “Justice involved” is their euphemism for being a criminal. To be more specific,

‘Justice involved’ covers anyone convicted of a pot-related charge, “had a parent, legal guardian, child, spouse, or dependent who was convicted,” or “was a dependent of an individual who was convicted of a [marijuana]-related offense,” the draft rules state.

Nonprofit organizations can get in on the profits, but they must cater to criminals, or as the bureauweenies put it, they must prove that they “serve justice involved individuals and communities with historically high rates of arrest, conviction, incarceration or other indicators of law enforcement activity for [marijuana]-related offenses.”

The reference to “communities” makes this race-based without mentioning race.

Also, the nonprofits should have “justice involved” persons on their boards or in executive leadership.

Succumb to moonbattery, elect Democrats, go to pot.
