Robert Gates, who served as Secretary of Defense under both GWB and Obama, famously observed that Joe Biden has “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Some disagreed with his use of the word “nearly.” But Biden was actually right once, back in 2007.

On the topic of precipitously withdrawing from Afghanistan, Biden said:

“You leave those billions of dollars of weapons behind, I promise they’re going to be used against your grandchild and mine someday.”

That’s one promise Biden is likely to keep, having left many $billions worth of weapons in the hands of our terrorist Taliban enemies, in addition to 14,000 US residents.
