Biden and Michael Moore Warp History to Attack Constitution

Whenever Democrats have a pretext to attack the Second Amendment, their hostility to our fundamental right of self-defense comes to the fore. They have made it clear that they will forcibly disarm the American population the moment they have the leverage.

Yesterday, the figurehead for the liberal establishment croaked that the Second Amendment is “not absolute”:

Biden called for stricter gun control legislation during his Wednesday address, claiming the Second Amendment allows for limitations on firearm ownership.

He must have skipped over the part that reads, “shall not be infringed.”

Barked Biden:

“The idea that an 18-year-old can walk into a store and buy weapons of war designed and marketed to kill is I think just wrong.”

“Weapons of war” is a meaningless shibboleth Democrats apply to guns they want banned. Knives are weapons of war, often used in mass killings; shall we ban those too?

Our wise leader graced us with a history lesson:

“The Second Amendment is not absolute. When it was passed you couldn’t own a cannon, you couldn’t own certain kinds of weapons.”

His repeated claim that Americans were not allowed to have cannons when the Constitution was ratified is not true. There was no federal law restricting what kind of guns Americans could own. Once the Constitution was in effect, such a law would have been struck down as unconstitutional.

For more revisionist history, we turn to Michael Moore, who surprisingly has not yet eaten himself to death. Moore responded to Uvalde by denouncing America (“birthed in violence with genocide of the native people at the barrel of a gun”). He then went straight to the top of the liberal wish list by calling for a moratorium on gun sales and the repeal of the Second Amendment.

In support of his demands, Moore announced that bullets did not exist when the Constitution was written:

“I truly believe if Jefferson, Madison and Washington, if they all knew that the bullet would be invented — some 50 years after our revolution, I don’t know if they would have written it that way.”

MSNBC viewers no doubt nodded sagely as he continued to rave:

“They didn’t even know what a bullet was. It didn’t exist until the 1830s. If they had any idea that there would be this kind of carnage, you have to believe that the Founders of the country wouldn’t support it.”

If the Founding Fathers had known that guns would one day fire bullets, thereby becoming dangerous, they never would have allowed them. This is inconsistent with Moore’s view that the Founders were racist fiends who forced blacks to build the country for them at gunpoint:

“This country was built on the backs of slaves with a gun to their backs to build this country into the country that we got to have.”

Moore has no use for the “common sense gun control” Biden euphemistically yelps about. He is tired of eroding liberty by increments:

“We don’t need the sensible stuff. We need the hard-core stuff that is going to protect ourselves and our children.”

Protecting children won’t be easy if we let leftist maniacs disarm us.

While Moore indulges in fantasies and Biden gibbers about deer that wear Kevlar vests, a Florida state representative gets to the heart of the issue:
