Once the “free” money starts flowing, too much is never enough:

A long list of celebrities are calling for the Biden administration to give mothers higher stimulus checks.

Because another $1,400 from out of the sky just won’t do when you can get even more. The free lunch will be financed by their children, who will grow up in a second-rate country crippled by debt and hyperinflation.

A movement called Marshall Plan for Moms, led by Girls Who Code CEO Reshma Saujani, demands monthly payments to mothers. From its website:

COVID has decimated so many of our careers. Two million of us have left the workforce, at a rate of four times that of men in September alone. Millions more have been forced to cut back our hours or work around the clock to keep our jobs and be full-time caregivers.

Here’s an idea: open up the schools. No wait, that would require standing up to unions.

Last month, Saujani was demanding $2,400 monthly payments. More recently, the amount has been left unspecified, suggesting that she thinks she can get even more and will of course take as much as possible.

Once such a program has been implemented, any politician who dares put an end to it will be accused of opposing motherhood. Not that there is any risk of a federal program dying before the entire house of cards comes down.

Unlike stimulus payments, the Marshall Plan for Moms would supposedly be means tested. No need to wonder what happens when you pay poor people to produce more children while avoiding situations that would put them in a position to support their own families. We have been watching the welfare state work its evil magic for generations now. The black family has been destroyed, formerly great cities have rotted into slums, and the pernicious Democrat Party is riding high.
