Guy Sorman has recently wondered if the Pope is Catholic. We now have an answer — he is not:

In stark and unprecedented defiance of Catholic teaching, which defines homosexual acts as “intrinsically evil,” Pope Francis has called for civil union laws for same-sex couples.

As we have seen, civil union laws inevitably lead to formal “marriage.”

While being interviewed for the feature-length documentary Francesco, the pontiff insisted that homosexuals not only “have a right to be a part of the family” but also “have a right to a family.”

The implications are hair-raising. Francis rejects both morality and biology. He implicitly calls for homosexual adoption, which frequently leads to the sexual abuse of children and could hardly help but lead to abnormal psychological development.

“What we have to have is a civil union law; that way they are legally covered,” notes Francis, trashing the 2003 declaration by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which categorically states “that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behavior or to legal recognition of homosexual unions.”

Left-wing social engineers like Francis employ the tactic of conflating people with their behavior. According to this absurd viewpoint, if you love someone, you must love their behavior, because they are their behavior. Ideally, we would love everyone. That means we would love all behavior.

Maybe Francis is subordinating what the Church stands for to current liberal fads in a misguided attempt to increase its popularity. Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò suspects he is up to something still worse:

Jorge Mario Bergoglio is trying to force some cardinals and bishops to separate themselves from communion with him, obtaining as a result not his own deposition for heresy but rather the expulsion of Catholics who want to remain faithful to the perennial Magisterium of the Church. This trap would have the purpose — in the presumed intentions of Bergoglio and his “magic circle” — of consolidating his own power within a Church that would only nominally be “Catholic” but in reality would be heretical and schismatic.

This deception draws on the support of the globalist élite, the mainstream media and the LGBT lobby, to which many clergy, bishops and cardinals are no strangers. Furthermore, let us not forget that in many nations there are laws in force that criminally punish anyone who considers sodomy reprehensible and sinful or who does not approve of the legitimization of homosexual “matrimony” — even if they do so on the basis of their creed. A pronouncement by the bishops against Bergoglio on a question like homosexuality could potentially lead civil authority to prosecute them criminally, with the approval of the Vatican.

Unless there is effective pushback against Francis’ subversion, the Long March Through the Institutions has brought down another pillar of civilization.

Unsurprisingly, Francesco also includes an endorsement of the corrupt pseudo-Catholic Joe Biden for president. Looks like it touches all the moonbat bases — envirofascism, Black Lives Matter, open borders, the works:
