To Fight Global Warming, Moonbats Invent the Sailboat

Transporting goods across the seas is essential to the modern economy required to sustain the current human population. However, this requires the use of fossil fuels, which according to moonbat ideology make it be too warm outside. No worries; we can be saved if only Big Government mandates the proper technology.

Bloomberg reports this with a straight face:

Add ships being dragged along by giant kites to the list of things the industry is exploring in its quest to decarbonize.

At the start of next year, the Ville de Bordeaux, a 154-meter-long ship that moves aircraft components for Airbus SE, will unfurl a 500 square meter kite on journeys across the Atlantic Ocean.

Previous centuries referred to such kites as “sails.”

The point is “to keep pace with goals set out under the Paris Agreement on climate.”

This exemplifies the lunacy Democrats would impose on us for the sake of their sanctimonious international posturing. The nonsense will have no perceptible effect on the climate, which is not a problem anyway except in fevered liberal imaginations.

Shipping carries more than 80% of all goods traded globally but also accounts for almost 3% of man-made carbon dioxide emissions.

Then we had better abandon international trade and live off what we can produce in the neighborhood. Otherwise, CO2 might help the plants to grow.

First windmills, now sailboats. Next, progressives will save the planet by inventing the ox-drawn plow.

On tips from Occam’s Stubble and Henry.
