Treasurer Marilynn Malerba of the Mohegans
With moonbats running the government, appointments are made on the basis of identity politics. The result has been farce, as the Biden Regime degenerates ever further into self-parody.
We now have a Treasurer of the United States whose qualification for office is that she is an Indian chief. Meet Marilynn Malerba of the Mohegans:
Her signature will now appear along with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on U.S. currency.
With the gold standard gone, maybe we can restore financial stability by basing US currency on beaver pelts.
Yellen hailed the appointment at the Treasury Department ceremony as a sign of the Biden administration’s “respect for, and commitment toward, our nation-to-nation relationship, trust and treaty responsibilities, and Tribal sovereignty and self-determination.”
If Malerba represents a different nation, what is she doing in the US Treasury Department?
Malerba, who will remain lifetime chief of the Mohegan Indian Tribe which is made up of roughly 2,400 people, previously worked as a registered nurse, and has served in various tribal government roles.
She is probably as qualified to be a brain surgeon as she is to be a treasurer. But at least she can’t be any worse than Yellen.
Malerba made clear that she will advance the interests of Indians at the expense of Americans in general:
“We all know that, historically, many promises have not been kept to the indigenous peoples of this nation. But we can and will do better,” said Malerba, who wore a red and black tribal ensemble and matching headdress.
For crying out loud. At least Ketanji Brown Jackson — who was appointed explicitly for being a black woman — didn’t show up for her Supreme Court hearing wearing a bone necklace.
Despite rhetoric about its oppression of Indians, our historic first squaw female person of indigenousness treasurer did have something nice thing to say about the USA:
“Katantuoot, wuyunomsh United States qa wuyunomsh kiyawin,” she said. “Great spirit bless these United States and bless us all.”
The Babylon Bee is run by Christians who would never be vicious enough to invent a story like this. That’s how you can tell straight news from parody.
For the first time in U.S. history, the signatures of a Native woman and a female Secretary of the Treasury will soon be seen on the nation’s currency.
