A Modest Proposal for Rewilding
Extending human rights to hippopotamuses is one way to apply reductio ad absurdum to liberal ideology. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson demonstrates another by suggesting we “rewild” the allegedly imperiled planet by feeding people to animals:
The legacy of Jonathan Swift lives on.
Johnson’s suggestion is in no way inconsistent with the hysterical, antihuman mentality that prevails among leftists. If Labour comes back to power, his suggestion may be given serious consideration. Liberals might call it “species justice.”
