Boston Red Sox Declare Their Park Carbon Neutral

After I saw zillionaire players kneel in obeisance to Black Lives Matter rioters as they looted stores and destroyed statues of the Founding Fathers, I swore off baseball forever. The closest I have come to regretting it is when I discovered yet another reason to root for whoever is playing the Red Sox:

Boston’s Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox and one of the oldest baseball parks in the country, will become the first carbon neutral Major League Baseball facility, the team said on Wednesday.

The Red Sox, in partnership with climate finance company Aspiration, will use a portion of ticket proceeds to purchase carbon offsets.

In the moonbat religion, carbon offsets are the equivalent of the indulgences corrupt clergy sold in Medieval times. Fools give priests of the Church of Global Warming money in exchange for the pretense that they are somehow saving the planet from its own weather.

Investors in Aspiration include ecohypocrite Leonardo DiCaprio, who ostentatiously virtue signals about his opposition to the inevitably fluctuating climate, while leaving a carbon footprint that dwarfs even Al Gore’s with his self-indulgent lifestyle.

“What we’ve done is taken the tech we’ve built around measuring climate footprint, and worked with the Red Sox in assessing their emissions,” Aspiration co-founder and CEO Andrei Cherny told Axios. “They have a lot of data, including about how people get to and from games,” he added.

What about the players who fly back and forth across the country all season long to and from games? Imagine for a moment that life on Earth really is threatened due to carbon emissions making the weather warmer. One of the first things we would do would be ban frivolous air travel. As I’ve learned, it is easy to live without MLB. But how can we live on a planet in peril?

Cherny added in the press release announcing the agreement that the “home of the Green Monster is becoming the home to ‘green’ progress and ‘Dirty Water’ is giving way to a cleaner planet.”

What a lucrative time to be a sanctimonious swindler. Yet it is hard to believe that even a single adult thinks moonbat posturing will affect global temperatures — as if there were anything wrong with the weather anyway.
