Profiles in Countermoonbattery: Brady Williams and Jarad Bentley

Not all football players spit venom like Colin Kaepernick or cower like Drew Brees. To find football players worthy of respect, you just have to look past the NFL and NCAA to high school.

From Morrow, Ohio:

When the Little Miami High School football team took the field Friday, Sept. 11, a couple of players carried alongside the American flag a Thin Blue Line and Thin Red Line flags.

As confirmed by senior cornerback Brady Williams, the intent was not political, but to honor first responders, many of whom died heroically on 9/11. Back then, most of us knew enough to revere heroes rather than criminals.

Williams was holding the Thin Blue Line flag as he rushed onto the field Friday. His father is a police officer, and he says he wanted to honor all the cops who lost their lives trying to save others on 9/11.

Jarad Bentley carried the Thin Red Line flag.

“I was all for it,” he said. “Because my dad is a firefighter, and if it had been him killed on 9/11, I would have wanted someone to do it for him.”

Sounds like we have two decent, respectful kids with their heads on straight. The liberal establishment reacted as you might expect.

Williams and Bentley heard from the athletic director Monday afternoon and received an indefinite suspension.

They had been told there would be consequences, and there were. The willingness to face them makes Williams and Bentley heroes too. How better to honor heroes than to be a hero on their behalf?

Black Lives Matter Comes After LeBron James

No matter how you pander to the crocodile, there is no guarantee it will come after you last, especially if it is a Marxist crocodile and you are conspicuously rich. No one could out-moonbat LeBron James, who wails loudly about the oppression of his race despite having acquired a net worth of $450 million playing a game in a country he openly disrespects. Yet the very Black Lives Matter mob that he has encouraged temporarily blocked NBA buses from entering the Walt Disney World campus on Saturday, brandishing megaphones:

Among their chants: “Black Lives Matter” and “LeBron can you help us?”

How about it, LeBron? If you really want your country torn to pieces in the name of cultural Marxism, why not shower some of your vast wealth upon the foot soldiers trying to make it happen?

The protesters assembled near one of the entrances and were not inside the so-called bubble, where teams, NBA staff and other have been for more than two months in some cases for the resumption of the season.

It would be hard to imagine a better metaphor for pro sports in general and the ultra-left, mostly black NBA in particular than the “bubble.” It protects them not only from COVID-19 but from the consequences of the toxic ideology they theatrically promote. Waging ideological war on police officers gets cops shot; it gets people living in black neighborhoods shot too. But, aside from harassment of a bus they weren’t even on, the zillionaire leftists inside the bubble are safe — until the Marxist revolution they have abetted gets out of hand.

All entrances to the bubble — whether it is the hotel properties or the arenas where games are played — are secured by law enforcement, security officers or both.

Law enforcement officers are to be abolished according to the Black Lives Matter ideology that is aggressively promoted by the NBA.

Profiles in Moonbattery: Gary Lineker

Gary Lineker is a former soccer player, current sportscaster, and member of the smugly sanctimonious liberal elite. Lineker implies that England has no right to defend itself against a foreign invasion that has had devastating consequences in terms of terrorism, crime, and social cohesion, because fish and chips might have been invented by a guy from France:

As noted by Paul Joseph Watson in the video above, wealthy liberals like Lineker do not pay the price for open borders. Working class Britons do, by seeing their wages collapse and their neighborhoods reduced to dangerous ghettoes.

These are largely the same people who made Lineker rich and famous by watching him play soccer. But Lineker seems no more concerned with his fan base than American soccer player Reggie Cannon, who describes his fans as “absolutely disgusting” for not supporting theatrical displays of anti-Americanism in reverence for Black Lives Matter.

Lewis Hamilton Provides a Public Service

Zillionaire race car driver and BLM-supporting oppressed Person of Color Lewis Hamilton triggers the gag reflex with some pious ecoposturing regarding his deep concern about global warming. Paul Joseph Watson isn’t buying it:

Celebrities aren’t as useless as they might seem. They help to warn us away from taking woke ideology seriously.

Why Sports Fans Are Tuning Out

Fans have been turning their back on sports, repelled by the theatrical displays of obeisance to Black Lives Matter. It isn’t because they like police brutality or don’t like blacks. That’s not what this is about. This is what it is about:

Black Lives Matter = black power + communism

“Black power” is not about equality. It is about racism. Communism is about slavery to an all-powerful state.

We have been down this road before. Jason Siler provides historical context from the 1960s:

Democrat pols don’t seem concerned about the largely black victims of the chaos they are causing with their war on police and their tacit encouragement of riots. Black Lives Matter radicals don’t care either. Both are exploiting blacks to enhance their own power at the expense of our freedom. That is not something to kneel to.

Reggie Cannon’s Fans Disgust Him

It isn’t just the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Pro soccer also insists on ramming leftist politics down the audience’s throat. Fans who don’t like to see their country insulted are denounced as “disgusting.”

Via Fox News:

FC Dallas defender Reggie Cannon lashed out at fans who booed as his teammates and Nashville SC players knelt during the national anthem ahead of their Wednesday night matchup. …

“I think it was disgusting. I think it was absolutely disgusting,” Cannon said, according to “You got fans booing you for people taking a stand for what they believe in. Millions of other people support this cause and we discussed with every other team and the league what we’re going to do and we’ve got fans booing us in our own stadium. How disgraceful is that? Honestly, for lack of a better word, it pissed me off. … You can’t even have support form your own fans in your own stadium. It’s baffling to me.”

Baffling? For those who aren’t blinded by propaganda, love for this country is not that hard to understand.

Nobody likes racial injustice or police brutality. No one likes smog either. That doesn’t mean you would expect audiences to cheer you for disrespecting the national anthem in the name of banning cars.

People come to sports events to watch sports — not to participate in extremist political rallies.

Cannon should be grateful that he has any fans. Without them, it would be hard to make money kicking a ball back and forth.

Black Lives Matter mania could be an opportunity for soccer, as people turn away from more popular sports in horror at seeing former heroes kneeling in obeisance to a radical ideology that came to prominence largely through rioting. Looks like the opportunity will be wasted.

Cannon is a US national team member. It is not too much to ask people who represent the country to refrain from public displays of disrespect for it.

Dallas fans compensated for the players’ lack of patriotism by chanting “USA.” They need athletes less than athletes need them.

To top it off, Cannon’s team lost 1-0.

Cannon sounds off against his fans.
