Imagine putting a mob of looters inspired by Black Lives Matter in charge of a Target. Letting Democrats take control of federal spending is the equivalent. The economy may never climb out of the hole they are digging it into with the $1.9 trillion spending looting bonanza. More waste on the same scale will follow, until the debt is unsustainable and the economy collapses. In the meantime, our money is shoveled at all Democrat constituencies, including bailouts for blue states that spend recklessly and even cash payments to convicts and illegal aliens. No, I’m not kidding:

Republicans Sens. Bill Cassidy (La.), Ted Cruz (Texas), and Tom Cotton (Ark.) introduced an amendment that would have prevented “any individual who is incarcerated in a Federal or State prison” from receiving stimulus checks.

Democrats rejected the effort, 50-49, which would have saved taxpayers nearly $2 billion.

Every single Democrat Senator voted in lockstep for fiscal insanity, as usual.

That’s not all:

Cruz similarly introduced an amendment that would have prevented immigrants living in the U.S. illegally from receiving checks.

Democrats also rejected that effort, 50-49.

Like criminals, illegal aliens are a key Democrat constituency. Understanding who they represent sheds light on why Democrats govern the way they do.

“Joe Biden and the Democrats want to give illegal aliens $1,400 COVID relief checks. I proposed an amendment to prevent that from happening,” Cruz said.

But Cruz couldn’t stop them, because thanks to some Republicans sitting out the runoff in Georgia, Democrats control the Senate, in addition to the House, the White House, the media, the schools, et cetera.

Dick Durban claims undocumented Democrats will not receive the checks, because they do not (legally) have Social Security numbers. Yet he voted against the amendment that would have prevented them from getting the checks.

Amendments that were also rejected include one to allow construction of the Keystone XL pipeline to continue, another to provide more targeted pandemic relief, and one to require in-person learning for education funding, among other amendments.

Items like those would have been in the bill if Democrats compromised. But they don’t compromise. They are running over this country like a steamroller, inflicting as much damage as they can while they have control. If they can impose HR1 to render elections a farce, they will be in control indefinitely.
