Governor Tom Wolf Calls Philadelphia Riots “Peaceful”

The new rules state that whenever police are compelled to use force against a black criminal, urban savages have a license to riot. If you are happy with these rules, vote for Democrats, for the rules only apply in places run by them. For the past two nights, Philadelphia has been going up in flames, because a mentally ill person named Walter Wallace Jr was shot when he advanced toward police brandishing a knife.

Via Fox News:

Nearly a dozen people – including a 15-year-old – were shot overnight after looting and rioting in Philadelphia erupted for a second straight …

No, the police have not finally adopted a sensible policy of shooting looters. The looters are shooting each other.

Following the usual script,

protests quickly devolved into violent riots and looting of stores across the city. Crowds of dozens were seen ransacking local and big-name stores, including a Walmart and a Foot Locker.

Walmart has now seen the ROI it was reasonable to expect for its $100 million pledge to Black Lives Matter type causes.

The “heroes of our time,” as de facto presidential candidate Kamala Harris calls them, also steal from each other:

In one instance, thieves allegedly stole a 50-year-old man’s car after he had filled it with items that he had stolen from the stores

Monday night was bad too:

Thirty officers were injured, most of them from being struck by projectiles such as bricks and rocks, according to preliminary information from police.

A 56-year-old sergeant was hospitalized in stable condition with a broken leg and other injuries after she “was intentionally run over by an individual driving a pick-up truck.”

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia City Council has been defunding the police as a genuflection to Black Lives Matter. Via Philly’s CBS3:

The preliminary budget deal cuts $33 million from the Philadelphia Police Department’s budget and adds plans to implement police reform measures like more body cameras and implicit bias training for officers.

The drastic cuts come in the midst of ongoing demonstrations throughout the city, demanding police reform and calls to defund the police.

It would appear that the City of Brotherly Love has entered into a moonbat death spiral, as rioting drives out the last people too sane to vote for leftists who encourage more rioting.

Or maybe we are blowing this out of proportion. During a press conference on Monday night’s violence, Governor Tom Wolf characterized the rioting as peaceful protests:

Eloquent guy. No wonder they made him governor.

If Pennsylvania gets tired of riots and votes him out of office, Wolf should seek work in the liberal establishment media. With his gaslighting skills, he would fit right in with Ali Velshi and Omar Jimenez.

On a tip from Rapinhoe. Hat tip: 100% Fed Up.

  3. […] Chick-fil-A built a following on its reputation as a Christian company. Then it turned hard left, put a moonbat in charge of donations, cut off the Salvation Army on orders from LGBT militants, and went so far overboard in pandering to Black Lives Matter that CEO Dan Cathy theatrically cleaned a smirking representative black person’s shoes in an appalling gesture of obsequiousness.
