Remember when Al Gore prophesized that sea levels would rise by up to 20 feet in the near future, all because of global warming caused by failure of Big Government to suppress normal human activity? A new study finds that it is not going to happen:

The research found that the average sea level rise in 2020 was only around 1.5mm per year, or 6 inches per century, according to the paper’s authors, Dutch engineering consultant Hessel Voortman and independent researcher Rob de Vos.

In contrast to what is often breathlessly reported, Voortman found there has been no acceleration in the rise of sea level. What rise there has been has not been consistent between locations, indicating that it is not a global phenomenon.

The Dutch have an interest in how much the sea is actually rising, given that a quarter of the country is below sea level already. However,

Voortman was shocked that no researcher before had performed an analysis of real-world local data.

This is because promoters of the global warming hoax do not live in the real world. They inhabit a make-believe realm of leftist ideology and weaponized hysteria.

The study was also unlike any of its kind in that it was carried out with no external funding, said Voortman, who has spent the last 30 years as a hydraulic engineer working with flood protection and coastal-infrastructure adaptation projects around the world.

Regarding the funding of other studies, follow the money and it will lead you to those who stand to benefit from the global warming hoax.

The reasons researchers have gone along with the global warming hoax are not admirable but can be understandable. Many want government funding from a Deep State that aggressively pushes the hoax for the sake of securing more power. Others just don’t want to be fired:

Dogs may be man’s best friend, but that doesn’t mean moonbats return the loyalty or the affection. The Associated Press discourages dog ownership on the grounds that canines offend the weather:

Dogs are big meat eaters, and meat is a significant contributor to climate change. That is because many of the farm animals, which will become food, release methane, a greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. Beef is especially impactful, in part because around the world cattle are often raised on land that was illegally deforested. Since trees absorb carbon dioxide, the most abundant greenhouse gas, cutting them to then raise cattle is a double whammy.

Not having a dog is listed as one of the three top ways you can please the weather gods, along with generating electricity by inefficient means and avoiding air travel.

Jiaying Zhao teaches psychology and sustainability at the University of British Columbia and therefore qualifies as an expert. Instead of dogs, she wants us to bond with rabbits:

“I can adopt 100 bunnies that will not be close to the emissions of a dog, because my dog is a carnivore,” she said.

When they have achieved sufficient political leverage, moonbats will impose this insane religion by force. The perceptible effect on the allegedly problematic climate will be nil.

Round and round spins the vicious circle. Those with psychiatric problems are prone to liberalism. Climate gullibility is particularly correlated with mental illness. Liberals’ erroneous and often hysterical beliefs exacerbate their neurotic state of mind, making them still more susceptible to moonbattery.

Activists, climate psychologists and others in the fight against climate change have a range of ways to build resilience and help manage emotions.

Like most liberal solutions to problems caused by liberals, they are likely to make the problem worse:

Feeling isolated? Find ways to connect with like-minded people and help nature, said climate psychologist Laura Robinson in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Ecomoonbat circle jerks are unlikely to help climate kooks achieve a reasonable perspective.

More advice:

Work locally to convince more residents to give up grass lawns… Help establish new green spaces, join projects to protect water, develop wildlife corridors, or decrease pesticide use to save frogs, insects and birds.

Protecting put-upon insects helps moonbats tormented by neurosis to take solace in their self-righteousness. But it won’t make them any less crazy.
