Wall Street Begins to Vacate New York

What they did to our formerly wealthiest city Detroit, moonbats are now inflicting on New York. The death of Wall Street is already underway.

The New York Post reports:

Apollo Global Management, a $900 billion asset manager, is plotting a second US headquarters in the Sunbelt…

Apollo expects most of its future hiring to be in the second hub rather than Manhattan, according to a statement from the firm.

The new location will probably be in either Texas or Florida.

Florida has already lured heavyweights like Citadel and Elliott Management, while Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan are hunkering down in Texas.

Here’s why Apollo is ready to move on:

[Mamdani] has pushed Gov. Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers to increase the corporate tax and hike taxes on rich — and he’s even threatened to up the city property taxes 9.5% if the state doesn’t act.

Mamdani’s “warmth of collectivism” will be cold comfort to those left behind in New York when there is no wealth left to confiscate.

On the positive side, Manhattan real estate will become more affordable. You can buy a house for $50 in some parts of Detroit.

Mamdani’s “Affordability” Drives Up Rent

The buzzword of the Zohran Mamdani campaign was “affordability.” This was to be implemented through “the warmth of collectivism.” Now New Yorkers get to see what “affordability” actually means under leftist rule.

Via Post Millennial:

Manhattan’s median rent has soared to an all-time high of $5,000 a month as socialist NYC City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is looking to “freeze the rent” in the Big Apple, one of his campaign promises that has analysts worried will only make matters worse.

Rent has risen 6% just since last year. It will get worse.

High costs are caused by insufficient supply. Freezing rent chokes off the supply, thus causing nonfrozen rents to shoot upward. Where rent is frozen, landlords cannot afford to renovate or even maintain properties, further diminishing supply, while lowering the quality of what little housing is available.

The economics is not complicated. But idiot greed renders Democrats’ something for nothing voter base incapable of grasping it.

AOC Blows Campaign Money on Shrink Known for Hallucinogenic Drug Therapy

The good news is that prominent Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — a leading candidate for the Democrat presidential nomination — is seeking help for her psychiatric issues. But the New York Post also has some bad news:

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) spent nearly $19,000 in campaign cash last year on a shrink who specializes in controversial ketamine therapy.

The socialist lawmaker hired Boston-based Dr. Brian Boyle, the chief psychiatric officer at Stella, a chain of mental health clinics focusing on “novel” therapies popular with Hollywood and Wall Street.

Ketamine is a hallucinogen. AOC’s record suggests a willingness to explore new frontiers regarding psychoactive drugs:

As a freshman congresswoman in 2019, she introduced an amendment to allow the feds to spend taxpayer money on studying the medical potential of psilocybin, ecstasy and other drugs to treat mental illnesses, calling the early research “promising.”

“It’s well past time we take drug use out of criminal consideration and into medical consideration,” she tweeted at the time.

Recreational drug users may only be self-medicating. Unsurprisingly, she campaigned on ending the federal marijuana prohibition.

AOC has admitted to psychiatric problems in the past:

The Bronx and Queens lawmaker has previously talked about her own mental health, revealing she was in therapy following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, when she said lawmakers effectively “served in war.”

Counsel to the National Legal and Policy Center Paul Kamenar is not pleased:

“While I can understand why AOC would spend $18,000 for a shrink whose specialties include narcissistic personality disorders, using her campaign contributions for what appears to be an expense for personal use violates federal campaign finance laws.”

Considering that ketamine is used as a horse tranquilizer, it may be appropriate for AOC based on her smile. However, Brave’s AI notes that ketamine therapy is not approved by the FDA for mental health conditions, that side effects include dissociation, and that the treatment is not recommended for those with a history of psychosis — which it can cause.

Mamdani’s Wife’s Record of Supporting Islamic Terrorism

In case Zohran Mamdani had not made it abundantly clear where the people running New York stand on the topic of Islamic terrorism, his new wife Rama Duwaji provides confirmation.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Duwaji, 28, posted a photo to her Tumblr account in September 2017, when she would have been 20 years old, of the infamous Palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled. Under the username “diimashq,” she echoed one of Khaled’s most famous statements.

“If it does good for my cause, I’ll be happy to accept death,” the caption read.

Khaled, a longtime member of the PFLP, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization, participated in plane hijackings in 1969 and 1970.

Like First Muslim NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Khaled is revered by moonbats for her historicness, being the first female to hijack an airplane.

Khaled isn’t Rama Duwaji’s only role model:

New York City’s future first lady reposted a tweet on International Women’s Day praising the terrorist Shadia Abu Ghazaleh. It shows a photo of Ghazaleh, a leading PFLP figure who participated in the bombing of an Israeli bus and led several other terrorist attacks, posing with a rifle.

Other posts celebrate the First Intifada and Palestinian “freedom fighters” (better known as terrorists) in general.

As for her feelings about the USA:

Duwaji reposted an attack against U.S. service members on her Tumblr in July 2015.

“*taps mic* American soldiers fighting in imperialist wars are not brave nor are they fighting for anyone’s freedom,” the post read. “They are mercilessly slaughtering 3rd world civilians and fighting to maintain American hegemony. That is all, thank you! *drops mic*”

She blames Caucasians for the Islamic terrorism that she otherwise celebrates:

“You can’t blame muslims for terrorism because they didn’t construct, fund nor train Al-Qaeda,” that user wrote. “White People did that too.”

Al Qaeda is best known for killing thousands in New York City while destroying the most prominent feature of its skyline.

The Democrat strategy of demographic displacement has allowed people like this to take over our largest city.

New York Moves to Impose Darkness

If the CO2 that allows plant and therefore animal life to exist can be designated as a pollutant by moonbats, why not light? New York State is moving to restrict it.

Via News USA:

A proposed law, known as the “Dark Skies Protection Act” ( S5007), aims to dramatically reduce light pollution across the state, potentially requiring many outdoor lights to be switched off after 11 p.m.

Criminals will love it, so it is unsurprising that this latest Big Government intrusion was introduced by a Democrat, State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal.

The bill targets a wide range of outdoor lighting, from residential floodlights and decorative building illumination to commercial spotlights, and billboards. Under the proposed regulations, any outdoor lighting fixture not meeting specific design standards would be mandated to shut off between 11 p.m. and sunrise…

Democrats argue that lights at night disorient migratory birds and prevent stargazing, thus the need to impose darkness by force.

Certain exceptions would be allowed. For example:

[S]ports venues can maintain lighting during ongoing games.

Apparently night-flying migratory birds are not affected by ball games.

At least fines collected from people who use light at night might help raise funds to finance Zohran Mamdani’s $97,000 per derelict per year homelessness spending.

Artificial light symbolizes mankind’s ingenuity and achievement. A nighttime view of the Korean peninsula demonstrates how leftism snuffs out both. The contrast between the dark communist north and the brightly lit free south drives home what is at stake in the struggle against moonbattery. Under continued Democrat control, New York will increasingly resemble the north.

NYC to Blow Over $97,000 per Bum on Homelessness Grift

In liberal jurisdictions where homelessness is exploited as a pretext to confiscate wealth, it takes any number of taxpayers to support a single drug-addled derelict. California is one example; New York City is another.

The New York Post reports:

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli just revealed that New York City is now spending $81,000 per street homeless person — in a town where average take-home pay is no higher than $40,600.

$81,000 per year per bum? Not enough. The Islamocommie mayor wants to waste more:

City Hall projects it to hit nearly $97,000 in the coming year.

The trajectory has been straight up into the stratosphere:

Overall, this spending has skyrocketed from $102 million in 2018 to $368 million last year, up 320% even as the street-homeless population grew just 26%.

That’s not all:

These figures don’t include about $500 million a year for supportive housing, mental health co-response teams, the NYPD’s homeless-clearing work or other outlays for this population.

Either hobos are sleeping off their fentanyl binges in platinum-plated refrigerator boxes, or most of this money goes to graft.

Not all liberals embrace moonbattery because they are morons; some use it to make easy money that other people worked for.

Mamdani Drops Speed Limits to 15 mph

Jacking up taxes won’t cover Zohran Mamdani’s spending spree, even if he manages to strongarm Albany into going along at the state level. But he has other means of raising funds — like 15 mph speed limits.

NYC.gov proclaimed yesterday:

Mamdani and New York City Department of Transportation Commissioner (NYC DOT) Mike Flynn today announced that NYC DOT will reduce the speed limit to 15 MPH at every eligible school location across the five boroughs by the end of Mayor Mamdani’s first term.

If 15 mph doesn’t bring in enough revenue via speeding tickets, he can drop it down to 5 mph. New Yorkers had better not complain, because it is for the children:
