Major League Baseball arrived at that decision before hockey, quietly telling teams as far back as February that they wouldn’t be opening themselves up to the NHL’s nightmare. In the directive, which MLB’s front office kept under wraps until this month, they quashed all player Pride gear.

A likely reason was fear that rebellion in the NHL ranks would spread to MLB.

“We have told teams, in terms of actual uniforms, hats, bases, that we don’t think putting logos on them is a good idea just because of the desire to protect players,” MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred told The Washington Post’s Chelsea Janes. At the end of the day, he said, we should not be “putting them in a position of doing something that may make them uncomfortable because of their personal views.”

That was not an issue until it became apparent that a few players may have enough character to push back.

For leverage, La Times brings in a moonbat who has infiltrated the Catholic Church and is helping to subvert it, Fr. Chris Ponnet, described as “spiritual director for the Los Angeles archdiocese’s Catholic Ministry With Lesbian and Gay Persons.” He opposes opposition to anti-Catholic bigotry:

Ponnet said that if strident Catholics aren’t careful, the alleged hate they are protesting can actually be coming from them.

“Part of our church position is not to bully, not to demonize, not to hate … and they’ve demonized and bullied,” he said.

Homosexuality is condemned in the most adamant terms throughout the Bible (as is pride). That there is a Catholic Ministry With Lesbian and Gay Persons is itself blasphemous. From there, we are at least half way to homosexuals dressed as nuns defecating on altars while the vermin comprising the media cheer and liberal priests scold us for not liking it.

Wesley’s victory might have been even more impressive if he had identified as belonging in the 70–79 age bracket. But that would have been unsportsmanlike — I mean, unsportstranswomanlike.

Even after Mumford humiliated the women both physically and emotionally, he seemed nonplussed that Kriete and Van Sickle declined to join him on the winners’ podium.

“If they really think I’ve stolen the place [of a female runner], I don’t mind giving the medal back, because I’ll run again next year for charity.

Of course he stole the place of a female runner, as surely as he would have stolen the place of a child runner if he had competed in a race while pretending to be a child.
