Arrested for Calling Bureaucrats Parasites

Hate speech laws may seem absurd, but they do serve a purpose. Consider Germany, where a libertarian identified as Damian N. tweeted this:

No, anyone who is financed by the state pays no net taxes; they live off taxes: every civil servant, every politician, every employee in a state-owned enterprise, everyone who is subsidised and financed by the state. Not a single parasite pays any net taxes.

If bureauweenies tolerate complaints about the burden they impose on society, people might get restless. So the concept of hate speech is applied:

[P]olice acting on behalf of the Ulm public prosecutor’s office raided Damian’s home. He is suspected of the crime of inciting hatred (in violation of Section 130 of the German Criminal Code) for his rough remark about government “parasites”.

The statute is to punish those who incite hatred against “a national, racial, religious group or a group defined by their ethnic origin.” But once speech has been criminalized, anything you say might get you in trouble.

They demanded his phone and PIN and took him to the police station, where they measured him, weighed him, photographed him from various angles, and even took blood samples to get his DNA.

[A]n officer instructed our suspected speech criminal to “think carefully about what you post in future”, because “you must realise that you are now under observation”.

How did Josef K. I mean Damian N. come to the attention of the police?

This has all the hallmarks of another NGO-driven speech investigation. We have a low-visibility post containing a suggestive vocabulary item (“parasit“) that was likely uncovered via keyword search, a lazy attempt to find a distantly relevant criminal statute and then maximum police harassment and intimidation because, as in all these cases, the process is most of the punishment. They really, really like the 6am morning raids, and they also really like to confiscate phones. As the Lower Saxon prosecutor (and ‘online hate task force’ leader) Frank-Michael Laue told American reporters earlier this year: “It’s a kind of punishment if you lose your smartphone, it’s even worse than the fine you have to pay.”

At least soft tyranny is better than the Gestapo and Stasi. But soft tyranny doesn’t stay soft indefinitely. Unless people push back, there is no reason it should have to.

Jailed in Switzerland for Disputing That Skeletons Are Nonbinary

After the groomers infesting public schools have been at them, children might not know whether they are boys or girls. Yet archeologists centuries in the future will be able to find out by examining their bones, because biological facts are impervious to moonbat ideology — although freedom of speech is not, as Emanuel Brünisholz of Switzerland found out the hard way:

Brünisholz is reportedly about to start a 10-day prison stint due to his voicing skepticism about claims that skeletons are transgender.

Liberals probably believe skeletons can be polysexual too — a scary thought right before Halloween.

In 2022, he responded to a Facebook post by Swiss National Council member Andreas Glarner on the controversy. …

The wind-instrument repairman thought that such claims were unfounded and posted a comment that said, “If you dig up LGBTQI people after 200 years, you’ll only find men and women based on their skeletons. Everything else is a mental illness promoted through the curriculum.”

For this factual observation, Brünisholz was charged with “hate speech” and “public belittling” offending legally favored sexual deviants.

He was convicted and fined 500 Swiss Francs.

Brünisholz commendably refused to pay on principle, so he will serve time as a political prisoner in a supposedly free country.

Educrats/Media Don’t Like Freedom Shirts

Fans of Charlie Kirk have taken to wearing Freedom t-shirts, because he stood for it against the creeping totalitarianism imposed by liberals and because he was wearing such a shirt when they killed him. Educrats are opposed:

A principal’s request over staff clothing has sparked a heated free speech debate in the Olathe [Kansas] School District.

The controversy began after the principal at Arbor Creek Elementary asked some staff members not to wear T-shirts bearing the word “Freedom.”

Care to guess which side the media takes?

Many parents supported the principal’s approach.

“Teachers and principals are trying to take care of students, make it a safe space for learning,” [parent Andrew] Meredith said.

True enough, wearing a Freedom shirt may not be safe with leftists in the vicinity, as we learned on September 10.

Speaking of Freedom shirts, the countermoonbat in the video below wears his well. Watch and laugh as he floors an Antifa scumbag in Portland without even putting aside his phone:

Dragged Off in the Middle of the Night Over a Tweet Against Terrorism

It is fair to call Britain under moonbat rule a police state. Watch as a blogger is taken off to jail in the middle of the night for sharing a meme that included the forbidden words “F*ck Hamas”:

At least the police are polite for now. This won’t last, because as it becomes established that the main job of police is not to protect the public but to repress it, only the worst people will be drawn to this line of work.

Aging Bolshevik Hypocrite Tries to Dictate Speech by Political Pressure

When I saw the headline, I thought it was a zinger from the Babylon Bee:

Bernie Sanders Demands Nexstar Air Jimmy Kimmel While Denouncing ‘Political Pressure’ On TV Stations

But parody cannot keep pace with reality when it comes to moonbats. The story is from Fox News:

Nexstar Media Group announced Wednesday it would continue to preempt late-night host Jimmy Kimmel from its ABC affiliate stations after Disney lifted his suspension following his controversial comments about the Charlie Kirk assassination.

Characteristic of the unrepentent Kimmel, the “controversial comments” consisted of the vile lies that Charlie Kirk was killed by a fellow conservative and that Donald Trump did not grieve his death.

Brace yourself for Grand Canyon-scale cognitive dissonance — or to put it less charitably, hypocrisy:

“Decisions about what Americans watch shouldn’t be dictated by political pressure,” [Bernie] Sanders wrote on X. “Nexstar must immediately restore Jimmy Kimmel to viewers in Vermont and across the U.S. Broadcasters should not cave in to an authoritarian-type president who can’t accept criticism.”

Decisions about what Americans watch should not be dictated by political pressure, so do what the senator tells you and air his leftist ally, even if it is an insult to your audience. Submit to the Marxist-Leninist, or else you are caving in to authoritarianism.

Bernie ought to be careful trying to dictate speech by bullying. What goes around, comes around:

Watch Jimmy Kimmel Gloat About Trump Being Censored on Social Media

Remember when censorship was regarded as so cool among the liberal establishment that the sitting president was barred from social media to prevent him from communicating with the public? Jimmy Kimmel loved it:

Now that Kimmel has gotten himself canned by ABC for alienating the public by telling vile lies, we are told that Trump is censoring him and that censorship is bad.

Note that Kimmel was also pleased about Parler being taken offline because conservatives used it to communicate. His love of free speech is newfound.

Presenting the Left’s Actual Position on Free Speech

In the wake of the leftist bomb thrower Jimmy Kimmel losing his megaphone, the same sort of liberals who celebrated the sitting President of the United States being banned from social media so that he could not reach the public and Parler being taken down because conservatives used it to communicate have suddenly discovered a love of the First Amendment. A student’s reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination suggests what they actually think of free speech:

“We need to bring back political assassinations,” said Julia Xu in a social media post, where her handle is @bringbacktheguillotine.

“I don’t feel bad and I don’t think that everyone deserves the right to free speech. Some people should be afraid to express their opinion in public.”

Xu, who grew up in Connecticut, is a second-year student at Oberlin College in Ohio majoring in politics and international affairs…

Xu is on the advisory board of campus group the Gender, Sexuality and Attraction Initiatives, an office that supports queer, trans and women’s programming at the school.

The assassination of Kirk appears to be tied to LGBTism.

Xu, who uses they/them pronouns, is also a member of Students for a Free Palestine.

Buy into any moonbattery and you get the whole package.

As for people who don’t like it that Kirk was murdered,

“The worst thing that was said in that class was that it was a shame that Charlie Kirk died because he was such a huge figure in the right-wing movement and now, who will be left to debate?” said Xu.

“Now there’s no one left to have productive conversations with … Of course, everyone saying this, they were all male students. There were four or five male students … it just shows that white men will always empathize with the people who look like them.”

Charlie Kirk’s mourners are racists and sexists, according to the ideology college students marinate in.

Some worry that FCC Chairman Brandan Carr invited Democrat retaliation against our right of free speech by suggesting that ABC was in violation of the conditions for a broadcast license when it provided a platform for Kimmel’s malicious, deliberate lies. But Democrats have already made clear that they will suppress dissent to the furthest extent they are able. They implicitly support Charlie Kirk’s murder because it sums up their preferred policy toward those with whom they disagree.

Travel Advisory: Avoid UK

Britain is no longer a free country by any reasonable definition. If the woke authoritarians in charge can arrest comedy writer Graham Linehan for the opinions he expressed online while in the USA, they might do the same to you — as esteemed countermoonbat Nigel Farage warns:

Farage is something of a comedian himself. He got laughs by referring to Rep Jamie Raskin (D-MD) as “charming.”
