Beware Fallen Churches

As Christians celebrate this most holy day, the leftists who have infiltrated and subverted churches as relentlessly as rust will presumably devote themselves to the usual — blasphemous moonbattery like this:

Praying to “the Great Queer One,” students at United Methodist-affiliated Duke Divinity School proclaimed God’s acceptance and support for LGBTQ relationships in a Pride worship service March 22.

For more on God’s acceptance and support for LGBT behavior, refer to Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 1:26-27, Jude 1:7, et cetera.

The service was sponsored by Divinity Pride, which is devoted to subverting Christianity by using its trappings in the worship of the LBGT agenda.

“Strange one, fabulous one, fluid, and ever-becoming one,” prayed second-year Master of Divinity (M.Div) student Caroline Camp in opening the service. She stated that God is “mother, father, and parent” and “drag queen, and transman, and gender-fluid.”

Easter might be a good day to stay out of United Methodist churches. You wouldn’t want to be in one when it gets hit by a bolt of lightning from a clear blue sky.

Although LGBT militants have been at the tip of the spear in the progressive assault on Christianity, there have been attempts to subvert it in the name of other aspects of liberal ideology, as Robert Spencer observes:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Grey Goose) a year ago gave thanks to her god for his salvific sacrifice: “Thank you, George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice.” Catholic University displayed a painting of George Floyd as Jesus.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D-Planned Parenthood) proclaimed in September 2021 that the unvaccinated “aren’t listening to God and what God wants.” The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), which is so far-Left as to make Duke Divinity School look like MAGA country, last October published a new hymn entitled “The Climate is Changing.” In September 2019, climate idolaters at Union Theological Seminary began worshipping potted plants as a “liturgical response to our climate crisis.”

Leftists expect that once they have hollowed out Christianity and replaced its viscera with wokeness, it will whither and die. In the meantime, it can be exploited to manipulate the gullible.

It isn’t enough to attend churches; they need to be defended before they are subverted.

Americans Sign Petition to Ban the Bible

The Bible has served as the foundation of Western Civilization for 2,000 years. Would the average zombie shambling around in California sign a petition to ban it? Mark Dice documents the answer:

California came close to banning the Bible in 2018. Assembly Bill 2943 “effectively [would] make it illegal to buy or sell anything that promotes the view that homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice.”

Throughout human history, if you asked any given 10,000 people whether homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice, about 9,999 would answer, “Of course.” This attitude is firmly reinforced in the Bible. It is an attitude liberals suppress.

AB2943 was withdrawn for the time being, but banning the Bible remains entirely consistent with the mentality of our progressive ruling class.

So Much for Separation of Church and State

Progressives are righteous advocates of the separation of church and state when the concept can be exploited to shut down traditional viewpoints or to marginalize Christianity. When churches can be used to ram the statist agenda down the congregation’s throat, they feel differently:

Many who have chosen not to get the COVID-19 shots have cited religious objections. Now Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s administration wants church leaders to bring vaccination events into churches.

Pennsylvania’s public health leaders want to “harness the power of community trust in statewide faith-based organizations” to convince folks to get a COVID-19 shot. That is according to the mission statement of the Faith-based Organization Coalition, which is being formed under the state’s Department of Health and is expected to launch April 11.

“Harness the power of community trust.” Our leftist ruling class harnessed the power of our trust in the media. That trust has been expended and no longer exists. Then they harnessed our trust in the scientific cognoscenti. Anthony Fauci frittered away the last of it. Now liberals will find public trust to betray wherever they can find it, even if it means holding their noses and setting foot in churches.

As usual with Big Government, the program will be financed at least in part by money confiscated from people who would be appalled to see it spent this way.

The state aims to reduce vaccine hesitancy through the “Local Innovations in Vaccine Equity in Pennsylvania” project (LIVE PA), which is a grant program that pays churches and nonprofits to speak with their people and persuade them to get vaccinated.

If there isn’t enough pushback, next bureaucrats will pay churches to denounce fossil fuels, praise Black Lives Matter, assure us that inflation isn’t that bad, proclaim that children should be subjected to genital mutilation on behalf of the LGBT agenda, et cetera.

There will be ever more of these church–state partnerships as churches are infiltrated, subverted, hollowed out, and subordinated to the one true religion recognized by our ruling class, moonbattery. Before long, the concept of separating church and state will fade from memory, like the Tenth Amendment.

Fasting From Whiteness

No wonder church membership is cratering. Moonbattery is doing to Christianity what it does to every pillar of civilization. It infiltrates, subverts, hollows out, and reduces to a disgusting farce. Many nominally Christian churches get their gospel not from the Bible but the New York Times editorial page. Their objective is to eradicate not sin but Caucasians and their works.

From suburban Chicago:

“In our worship services throughout Lent, we will not be using any music or liturgy written or composed by white people,” the website for the First United Church of Oak Park reads. “Our music will be drawn from the African American spirituals tradition, from South African freedom songs, from Native American traditions, and many, many more.”

Hymns are yesteryear. Now the congregation gets South African freedom songs.

Head pastor John Edgerton is a white guy himself. But then, many of the leftists driving the antiwhite agenda are white (e.g., Robin DiAngelo, Joe Biden). This makes sense, when you consider that depravity defines the leftist mindset.

Dislike of whites has been on open display on a large sign in the yard of the church that reads as follows:

This Lent we build our worship life around the voices of Black people, indigenous people, and people of color.

The new religion has no use for souls. There is no point striving for personal redemption when your identity group defines you.

Unsurprisingly, the First United Church of Oak Park appears to endorse Black Lives Matter violence.

Criminalizing Christianity in Finland

Homosexuals represent a relatively insignificant percentage of the population. Yet the grotesque LGBT agenda is relentlessly promoted by the liberal establishment, and transsexuals rank above even blacks in the cultural Marxist pyramid of preference. This is because LGBT ideology is useful in achieving larger progressive goals. Among these is not merely to marginalize but to abolish Christianity. In Finland, the Christian faith may already be illegal:

Member of Parliament Paivi Rasanen and Lutheran Bishop Juhana Pohjola have been prosecuted now for nearly three years after Rasanen tweeted a picture of Bible verses in June 2019. Complaints about this tweet led to her prosecution under Finland’s “hate crimes” laws.

The government investigation of Rasanen’s tweet uncovered a theological pamphlet she wrote and Pojhola published in 2004, for which they have both been charged. The booklet states classic Christian teachings about sex as reserved only for marriage, and defining marriage as comprising only one man and one woman for life.

These views have been mainstream Christianity for the past 2,000 years. They could be summed up with the word “virtue.” Advocating virtue may be a criminal offense in Finland, as it is considered by leftists to be hateful to homosexuals.

The Finnish prosecutor who brought the case is seeking a fine of one-third of Rasanen’s annual income, the public erasure of documents and audio she’s made on the subject, and a financial penalty against the small religious organization Pohjola runs, the Luther Foundation. If the two Christians are convicted, the steepest possible penalty could be two years in prison.

Woke tyrants have designs beyond Finland.

If the prosecutor wins the case, it would mark an unprecedented expansion of identity laws that exist in most European countries, many U.S. cities and states, and that U.S. Democrats are trying to make a nationwide law in The Equality Act.

If the Christians are not found guilty of thoughtcrime, the prosecutor will appeal the ruling, then appeal it again. Rasanen and Pohjola will be repeatedly run through the wringer until the case reaches the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

The implications of them being found guilty there are scarier than anything Europeans have to fear from Vladimir Putin.

Pope Francis Continues to Attack Free Speech

Pope Francis, who in the past demanded in the name of God that Big Tech crack down harder on “hate speech” and “conspiracy theories” (i.e., speech disapproved of by his fellow leftists), and who sided with Muslim terrorists against freedom of expression after the Charlie Hebdo massacre, now proclaims that communicating unapproved information relating to Covid constitutes a human rights violation:

Leftism subverts and degrades everything it is allowed to infiltrate. The current Pope is merely another political figure spewing moonbattery, no more a moral leader than Joe Biden or Justin Trudeau. The Church must replace him with someone worthy of the position or its credibility will continue to suffer.
