North Carolina Moves to Impose Electric Trucking

If you think the price of everything transported by truck (i.e., everything physical) is high now, wait until our lunatic rulers perfect the weather by imposing electric trucks. From North Carolina:

In October, [Governor Roy] Cooper [D-Of Course] issued Executive Order 271 calling for state environmental regulators to come up with what are called Advanced Clean Trucks regulations by May 15, 2023. The rules would require truck and bus makers to increase sales of electric vehicles in the coming decades.

Proper trucks are bad because — like the means used to generate power for electric trucks — they emit CO2. This helps crops to grow, but according to liberal ideology also causes the climate to continue to fluctuate the way it always has and always will.

So Democrats demand goods be moved at greater expense by less reliable electric trucks. That way they can proclaim that they are confronting the imaginary climate crisis.

Two years ago, Cooper signed a multi-state agreement that set a goal to have electric trucks and buses reach 30% of vehicle sales by 2030 and 100% by 2050.

In related news from across the ocean,

Switzerland may become the first country to limit the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in a bid to ensure energy security this winter, German daily Der Spiegel reported on Thursday.

Under the proposed action plan, which is yet to be adopted, the use of EVs in the country could be banned except in cases of “absolutely necessary journeys.” …

The harsh restrictions are being discussed as the government fears a power shortage in the coming months, due to the country’s high dependence on imports.

Due to the Democratic Party’s War on Energy, the USA is also highly dependent on imports and likely to experience shortages. The notion that green energy boondoggles will generate enough electricity to keep more than a tiny percentage of trucking on the move is so preposterous as to cross the line from ludicrous to psychotic.

The Swiss Federal Electricity Commission (Elcom) … said Bern may need to cover its electricity import needs with purchases from Germany, Austria, and Italy. However, the power export availability of those countries would heavily depend on the available fossil fuels, mostly natural gas, according to Elcom.

Too bad moonbats disapprove of natural gas and the fracking used to extract it. We have plenty to spare, and could sell some to Europeans. But that would offend the climate, so it sits wasted in the ground.

Stand by for the planned shortages that are the objective of pretending there is a climate emergency.

On a tip from Wiggins.
