There is a sensible alternative: Steve Hilton. But Hilton is too sane to prevail in California, just as Spencer Pratt is too sane to prevail against the godawful Karen Bass in Los Angeles.
This is the same state that gave us two terms of Governor Ronald Reagan. Strike that; it is not the same state. The erstwhile Golden State has undergone what Barack Obama would call a “fundamental transformation.”
But who knows? Maybe California can be transformed back before it irrevocably succumbs to the Democrat Death Spiral.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani unveiled a whopping $124.7 billion executive budget for New York City on Tuesday – built on the back of $4 billion in funny money from Gov. Kathy Hochul. …
The supposed state assistance largely consisted of kick-the-can measures delaying massive spending, namely a move to restructure $2.2 billion in pension plan payments.
Counting on the state to pay for your retirement might not work out so well.

Another measure that pushes back a mandate for maximum school class sizes was counted by the governor’s office as $508 million in state support, even though it just delayed when the city will have to pick up a costly tab.
A bailout tally provided by Hochul’s office also included a $500 million windfall from a pied-à-terre tax on luxury second homes – despite the levy being still on the drawing board and city Comptroller Mark Levine arguing the revenue estimate is roughly $200 million too high.
Too bad the Empire State can’t just print the money. That’s why Democrats need to secure power at the national level.

You can always tell when Democrats approve of something because they refer to it with a euphemism. Illegal aliens are “undocumented.” Welfare dependency is the “safety net.” Anti-white racism is “anti-racism.” Abortion is “choice.” Criminals are the “justice impacted.” Drug-crazed bums are the “unhoused.”
Good thing taxpayers have plenty of money, because this won’t be cheap:

In my experience, you’re looking at a total cost in the range of $30,000 to $80,000, and that’s if the city pays the dentist directly, which it won’t. The whole program will be funneled through a non-profit or NGO, which will double or triple the cost to taxpayers (with sweet kickbacks to Democrats), just like Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) “free” diaper program tripled the cost of the diapers the government (i.e. taxpayers) bought.
Meanwhile, those of us who don’t earn the favor of Democrats by becoming meth addicts have to pay for our own dental care — as well as theirs, if Bass makes good on her promise.

As if it were not already obvious that Covid was not kosher, Democrats confirmed it yesterday by unanimously boycotting an investigation into what actually happened.

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) … and other Republicans questioned a CIA whistleblower during a Wednesday hearing, who claimed in his opening statement that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in the COVID cover-up “was intentional.” Not a single Democrat attended the hearing.
James Erdman III defied the Deep State by appearing before the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee.
“Public health policy would be very different had the American public been made aware that a virus from a lab in China was going to serve as the foundation for an emergency-use authorization mRNA products being mandated by the former administration,” Erdman began, adding, “Dr. Fauci’s role in the cover-up was intentional.”
Erdman detailed how Biden’s top Covid advisor operated without oversight, intervening at every level to suppress information.
“Dr. Fauci influenced the analytical process and findings by leveraging his position to ensure that the IC (Intelligence Community) consulted with a conflicted list of curated subject-matter experts, public health officials, and scientists,” Erdman explained, arguing that Fauci’s influence controlled which sources of information were accepted as reliable — and by extension, controlled what information the public would ultimately see.
Fauci has been a proponent of dangerous gain-of-function research. It has been suspected for some time that he was involved in paying our Chinese adversaries to engage in it — thereby helping to create Covid on our dime.
Full details on why Fauci & Co. have been so keen to keep the public from knowing the truth about Covid will come out eventually — unless Democrats secure control in Washington. In that case, such investigations will be promptly shut down. Another pandemic will soon follow, even if they have to pay the ChiComs to create it.

[T]he Newsom administration approved a $189 million contract to provide new digital tablets — generic, flat-screen devices in a plastic shell — to every inmate in the state prison system, at “no cost” to offenders.
The idea is to bestow “digital equity” upon the “justice impacted.”

In the 1980s, rapist and serial murderer Robert Maury killed a woman by strangling her with a nylon clothesline, strangled and killed another two women, and brutally raped a fourth before he was caught by authorities.
Now, Maury is living at a state prison facility in Stockton, California, where he has viewed pornography on his taxpayer-funded digital tablet. …
Samuel Amador, another serial killer who was sentenced to death, had a similar experience. He said inmates watch pornographic videos and have sexually explicit conversations through their tablets.

In a recent case, Nathaniel Ray Diaz, who was convicted of committing sex crimes against a 12-year-old girl, allegedly used a prison-issued tablet to contact and exploit her from inside Avenal State Prison. Diaz allegedly told the girl to send him sexually explicit images, which he received through a co-conspirator.

Within a few weeks, several underage girls from the local drug scene of the Tyrolean state capital died. Three girls, aged 13, 14 and 16, alone lost their lives due to suspected overdoses. These tragedies, which have occurred since the end of February 2026, shine a glaring light on systematic exploitation structures that specifically drive young girls into addiction and sexual violence.
Klaus Kapelari, medical director of the Competence Center for the Protection of Violence, explains:
“First the victims receive drugs cheaply, then relevant photos are required for this.” In the further consequence, it goes even further: If the girls can no longer finance their increasing consumption, they must provide sexual favors.

Similar cases had already accumulated in Vienna in 2025. According to media reports, seven people under the age of 18 who were in the care of child and youth welfare (MA 11) died from the consequences of drug abuse. Belinda Plattner, the head of the Children’s and Adolescent Psychiatry Salzburg, warned: “The girls say that they are approached at Salzburg Central Station by Arab-born young men who offer them drugs and promise them even more drugs in Vienna.”
A familiar pattern has emerged:
Minor girls from disadvantaged backgrounds are specifically attracted to free drugs, made dependent and then sexually exploited – often by groups. This approach is very similar to that of the so-called grooming gangs in the UK, which systematically abused thousands of girls for years and have long been downplayed by the authorities.
The liberal establishment covers up this phenomenon because it could galvanize resistance to the displacement of the native population by colonists from the Muslim world, who are often drawn in by a generous welfare state.
