Why Jamie Raskin Is So Worked Up About DOGE

Drain a swamp and you can’t expect the slithering slimy things that have been lurking therein to like it. Even among the many Democrats raging against Elon Musk for exposing the waste, fraud, and abuse at USAID, Jamie Raskin stands out:

Raskin has even announced a class action suit against Trump and Musk to cripple DOGE.

This could be what has Raskin so worked up:

Sarah Bloom-Raskin held powerful roles as deputy Treasury Secretary and a Federal Reserve Governor—both very clear conflicts of interest, considering her husband sat on the Oversight Committee while she held those positions.

Mrs. Raskin’s Treasury activities may include at least $1.5 million worth of graft.

Relax, Ratskin. An Obama-appointed judge has prevented DOGE from exposing what has been going on at Treasury — for now.

Doomed Democrats Panic

Outside the Treasury Building last week, when prominent Democrats like Chuck Schumer and Maxine Waters openly sided with waste, corruption, and unaccountability against taxpayers, the cringe-inducing scene was emblematic of a party entrenched in opposition to the public:

As Gerry Baker puts it:

It was a tableau for the ages, one example of the many strange battle lines the Democratic Party has chosen to defend these past few years: illegal migrants over citizens, teachers unions over parents and children, criminals over victims, men-turned-women over girls.

At least they are consistent. Democrats always side against regular Americans.

Government is supposed to exist for the people, but the DOGE process has laid bare what we have long suspected—that at scale, it exists first and foremost to further the interests of the permanent bureaucracy and their like-minded friends who dominate almost all our major institutions.

What DOGE is doing to the Swamp needs to be extended by the rest of us to the entire liberal establishment:

The accountability DOGE can bring needs to be emulated in other areas of public life where these interests have long dominated, immune from responsibility: radicalized higher education, failing city governments, intellectually corrupt media and entertainment companies.

That would spell doom for Democrats.

Smelling their own extinction, they have succumbed to panic, committing political suicide by defending the indefensible USAID. Ed Morrissey comments:

You know who loves USAID and its unaccountable structure? The progressive Academia elite that run it and other less-than-responsive federal bureaucracies. Why? It appeals to their elitism, and the flow of money without accountability allows for massive manipulations and social engineering. …

You know who hates USAID and other less-than-accountable federal bureaucracies? Everyone else. Almost literally.

They do still have the support of federal bureauweenies. At a rally yesterday outside Capitol Hill,

Hundreds of federal workers gathered for the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) “Rally to Save the Civil Service.”

Rep Maxine Dexter (D-OR) was there to present her party’s pitch to the public:

The Trump Administration caught them by surprise when Musk switched on the kitchen light with his USAID revelations. Rather than retreat under the stove by pretending they didn’t know what was happening to our money, the roaches wag their antennae belligerently. The instinctive reaction is to grab a can of Raid.

Democrats still have the entertainment industry to promote their public image. But as the respective responses to Donald Trump and Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl made obvious, that won’t be enough.

Trump Takes Toll on Moonbat Mental Health

Democrats were known for their poor mental health even when they held power. Now they are no longer getting their way, and it turns out they are not on the right side of history after all. Loose wheels are coming off.

Voters decisively elected Trump to enact an agenda. That he has wasted no time doing so has reduced Axios to whimpering:

Mental health professionals say even people who don’t see themselves as directly affected by administration actions are feeling frazzled by the dizzying pace and Trump’s enduring ability to command attention. …

“There is an element of chaos right now,” said Andrea Bonior, a Georgetown University psychology professor who sees patients in the D.C. area. “A sense of not knowing what’s coming and not being able to control what’s coming is really hard on the stress response.”

Not being in control is a real problem for Democrats. Without control, control freaks are just freaks.

“I think we can take so much of something before the human brain just like peters out and says, ‘I can’t keep up,'” said New York-based neuropsychologist Sanam Hafeez told Axios.

This could explain why, instead of trying to keep pace with changing times, Democrats continue to marginalize themselves by clinging to the tired woke hogwash that voters rejected.

Bonior said she’s seen an uptick in patients, particularly Democrats, expressing a sense of burnout, guilt and despair at losing an old way of life.

DOGE has been scraping bureaucratic barnacles off the hull of the ship of state, presenting them with the prospect of having to work for a living. Maybe the guilt is over having lived their old way of life at everyone else’s expense.

Democrats tried to warn us that reining in USAID would have hurtful consequences. But Trump and Musk refused to listen. Now look what’s happened:

Whether this has anything to do with USAID spending is speculative. However, the crimp placed on the corrupt liberal slush fund has certainly impaired Norway’s generosity:

The Norwegian Refugee Council announced on Monday that it has suspended emergency aid for hundreds of thousands of people across nearly 20 countries due to the Trump administration’s freeze on USAID funds.

Countries allegedly affected include Ukraine, Burkina Faso, and Sudan.

The NRC rages that US payments are overdue. It is left unexplained why money confiscated from US taxpayers would be due to Norwegian do-gooders in the first place.

But as any Democrat can tell you, it is more fun to be generous with other people’s money.

Dem Rep’s Brain Breaks Down on House Floor

Some people are sharp as ever well past 80. Others age less gracefully, as our government confirms. Prying the conspicuously senile Joe Biden from power was only a first step in overthrowing our fossilized gerontocracy.

The brain of Rep John Larson (D-CT) stopped functioning amidst his bloviations on the House floor yesterday:

“The gentleman’s time is expired.” You can say that again.

Larson’s people say he was suffering an adverse reaction to medication:

The 76-year-old lawmaker’s office, however, did not provide details on what the medication was or why the congressman was purportedly taking it.

There is a silver lining:

Larson also reportedly skipped two House votes held on Monday night, according to Axios.

If the brain freeze looked familiar, you could be thinking of the backstabbing Mitch McConnell, who has displayed them more than once, who turns 83 this month, and who just left the Capitol in a wheelchair, presumably so as not to fall down again:

According to Newsmax, the median age in the USA is 39.1 years, the average age of the House is 57.7 years, and the average age in the Senate is 63.8 years.

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi is officially no longer House Minority Leader. However, Hakeem Jeffries does not appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed and may be a DEI figurehead. For all we know, 84-year-old Pelosi is still calling the shots.

Speaking of calling the shots, dominant Democrat donor George Soros is 94.

Then there is 86-year-old Maxine Waters, who rivals Chuck Schumer as the face of the party lately.

But at least they finally admitted that Dianne Feinstein is dead.
