Moonbats bark a lot about equity, but they oppose equity when it comes to self-defense. You won’t read heroic stories like this one unless law-abiding citizens have access to an equalizer:

[An] 85-year-old Idaho woman named Christine Jenneiahn experienced the unthinkable when her home was broken into by a suspect, identified as 39-year-old Derek Condon who handcuffed and threatened her with a gun.

The intruder broke into the home she shared with her disabled son during the night wearing a black ski mask like liberal idol of the hour Dexter Reed.

“Subsequent investigation indicates a strong likelihood that Condon struck Jenneiahn in the head as she lay in her bed,” the review said, noting there was blood on the pillow and floor in the bedroom.

The suspect reportedly took Jenneiahn into the living room where he handcuffed her to a chair.

When he left her alone to ransack the house, she managed to drag the chair to where she kept a .357, which she was forced to use.

The scumbag returned fire, striking her several times. Fortunately, he then died of his wounds.

In the most liberal jurisdictions, authorities reflexively side with criminals against their victims. Good thing this happened in Idaho:

Idaho’s self-defense law states, “No person in this state shall be placed in legal jeopardy of any kind whatsoever for protecting himself.”

Rather than Jenneiahn being prosecuted as would likely happen in New York, she received the praise she richly deserves:

The March incident was “one of the most heroic acts of self-preservation,” the county prosecutor wrote in a review posted to Facebook by the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office.

It is a blessing to have elders we can admire and strive to emulate.

The correlation between moonbattery and the suppression of the fundamental right of self-defense is confirmed by a ranking of the worst states for gun owners by Ammo.com.

Rankings are based on “each state’s current laws, upcoming laws, concealed carry guidelines, self-defense statutes, and 2A-centric taxes in order to identify the worst states for gun owners in 2024.”

The worst state is of course the one liberals are using as a template for what they want to inflict on the rest of the country. California is unsurprisingly followed by the deep blue dystopias New York and Illinois, with lefty-dominated New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, and Hawaii rounding out the bottom 10.

New Hampshire comes in as the #1 best place for gun owners. Uncoincidentally, it is also the state with the lowest rate of violent crime.

On Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke from Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school and announced three quarters of a billion dollars being dedicated to securing more red flag laws.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas was the sight of the infamous 2018 Parkland, Florida school shooting, confirming Democrats’ eagerness to exploit tragedies resulting from failures in law enforcement and mental health treatment in order to attack our right of self-defense.

Even in the context of the ongoing Biden looting spree that has destabilized the economy, $750,000,000 is a lot of money. Big Government doesn’t need that much to notice that people like Nikolas Cruz belong in padded cells. However, it might be needed to ensure we don’t kick up too much of a fuss if extreme measures are required to keep Biden or rather his handlers in power.

As for the effectiveness of red flag laws for reducing mass shootings,

Harris did not mention that California adopted a red flag law in 2014, according to Giffords. However, FBI data showed that California led the nation in “active shooter incidents” in 2021.

So long as our right to bear arms is acknowledged, this is essentially a free country going through a rough patch. We won’t reach the end game until Democrats have tried to disarm us.

Leftists have deliberately driven the rate of violent crime into the stratosphere by defunding/hamstringing local police, leaving the border open to foreign criminals, letting George Soros install DAs throughout the country, releasing criminals without bail, et cetera. The effort is so concerted that it must be intended to advance a major item on the liberal agenda. One possibility is that Democrats are setting the stage for the confiscation of firearms. Since they control the mainstream media, they are able to dupe the gullible into believing that it is not the lethal combination of criminals and liberal policy that causes crime, but rather guns. Per 2022 data, Wyoming had the fewest firearms-related homicides of any state. Care to guess which state had the most firearms per person? Here’s a clue:

As for preventing crime, 68% of felons use illegal guns anyway. Disarming their victims will increase crime, not reduce it.

Jurisdictions where gun rights are suppressed tend to be run by Democrats. It is true that populations that vote Democrat are more prone to crime because they are characterized by moral degeneracy and societal decay. But it is also true that crime is less prevalent where potential victims have not been disarmed by the government.

So long as a single law-abiding American is exercising his constitutional right to bear arms, Democrats will call for more gun laws. What about the laws they have already imposed? Didn’t they work? If not, they ought to be repealed. Ammo.com reviews the situation. Among the findings:

Democrats bark that we must be deprived of our right to bear arms because guns are used to commit crimes. This ignores that lawfully owned guns are often used to prevent crime. Guns used in crimes tend not to be lawfully owned, as stats from Ammo.com confirm:

• Only 1.3% of criminals used a firearm that was purchased from [a dealer with a Federal Firearms License (FFL)] during the commission of a crime, based on a 2016 survey

• 56% of inmates arrested with a firearm at the time of their crimes stated they had stolen it

Criminals don’t worry about gun laws. They steal their guns or buy them on the black market anyway. There are an estimated 400,000,000 guns in the USA. Criminals will always have access to them.

Gun laws render the law-abiding defenseless against criminals, to whom gun laws do not apply. Yet again we see that Democrats side with criminals against regular Americans.
