Like the media, metrosexual moonbat Justin Trudeau endorsed riots by Marxist black supremacists. Decent Canadians peacefully insisting on an end to Covid tyranny are another matter.

In diametric contrast to the Black Lives Matter riots approved by our ruling class, there was reportedly zero violence until the authorities brought it.

Meanwhile, Parliament has been closed off to MPs for their own alleged safety; debate on Trudeau’s Emergency Act has been suspended. At least for now, Canada is a police state dictatorship.

Trudeau Regime Targets Pets and Children

Alarmingly, Canadian authorities might really think children are in danger — not from their parents, obviously, but from the authorities themselves when violence is employed to crush public resistance to Trudeau’s insane Covid mandates. As we learned during the Vietnam War, pictures of dead children make for bad public relations.

Joy Behar to Wear Mask Indefinitely

As far as moonbats are concerned, Covid should never be allowed to end. That’s not entirely a bad thing. For example,

The View host Joy Behar told her nationwide audience Thursday she plans to wear her face mask indefinitely, no matter what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention decides on its updated masking guidance.

This could result in a striking improvement in her appearance, were she to wear something in brown paper, with two eye holes if absolutely necessary so she can see where she is going.

Unfortunately, Behar does not wear a mask on her show. At the very least it might help to muffle her nails-on-chalkboard shrieking.

Also unfortunate is that this signifies she will use her platform — which is influential among people who can’t find better uses for their time than daytime television — to push for indefinite Covid mandates.

“So if I go on the subway, if I go in a bus, if I go into the theater … a crowded place, I would wear a mask, and I might do that indefinitely,” Behar said. “Why do I need the flu or a cold even? … I don’t think it’s 100% safe yet.”

So long as life is not 100% safe, Democrats should exert total control. But due to fear of public backlash as has been unfolding in Canada, the Party has begun to let down true believers like Behar:

“Personally, I listen to the little voice in my head that doesn’t really follow 100% what [the CDC tells] me because they keep changing it,” Behar said. “A very short time ago, they were saying, ‘Put the N95 masks on,’ and now … they’re saying you don’t have to wear them anymore.”

In the beginning, Fauci told us not to wear masks. Then questioning masks became the sort of thoughtcrime that would attract the attention of Silicon Valley censors like Susan Wojcicki. Then the CDC admitted cloth masks are ineffective. Now, it looks like they might light up on masks in general — except of course in schools, where imposing the masks has always been sadistic and absurd.

If even Joy Behar has noticed that the Big Government healthcare bureaucracy talks out of its behind, its credibility is lost. Big Tech won’t even silence her for questioning the CDC.

Covid Tyranny Escalates to Martial Law in Canada

In the olden days, at least socialist tyrants weren’t repulsively soft, conspicuously weak metrosexuals. There might have been less shame in getting crushed by a strongman like Stalin or Mussolini. But Justin Trudeau is no less a tyrant.

In response to truckers objecting to senseless Covid mandates, Trudeau initially went into hiding. Then he declared martial law:

Trudeau announced the use of the Emergencies Act for the first time in its history on Monday afternoon, stating that the federal government has invoked the act to aid law enforcement to stop border blockades as well as the Freedom Convoy demonstration in downtown Ottawa.

The Emergencies Act replaced the War Measures Act.

The act, which came into law in 1988, allows Trudeau to invoke various measures that could include banning people from gathering in certain areas as well as restricting their travel across the country.

Like a true tyrant, Trudeau has helped himself to the power to freeze the personal accounts of anyone accused of being linked to the protests, without so much as a court order. This will even cover cryptocurrencies and crowdfunding platforms. Insurance policies of truckers are to be suspended.

The Emergencies Act, passed in 1988, requires a high legal bar to be invoked. It may only be used in an “urgent and critical situation” that “seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians”.

However, if power is offered to government, that power will be used — all the more inevitably when people of Justin Trudeau’s caliber are put in positions of authority.

Canada is not yet a police state, because authoritarians have not finished consolidating control. The premiers of Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec oppose the power grab. Ontario’s Doug Ford is a different story; this “Progressive Conservative” had already declared his own state of emergency over anti–Covid tyranny protests.

Even a lefty like Bill Maher can see that Trudeau’s imposition of Covid tyranny is fascistic:

Jennifer Sey Paid $1 Million to Tell You This

Levi’s was an iconic brand, representing the American ruggedness and individualism that tamed the Wild West. Yet I would rather go out in a loincloth than anything featuring a Levi’s tag. Let’s let former brand president Jennifer Sey explain why, since she paid $1 million for the opportunity:

When I traveled to Moscow in 1986, I brought 10 pairs of Levi’s 501s in my bag. I was a 17-year-old gymnast, the reigning national champion, and I was going to the Soviet Union to compete in the Goodwill Games…

The jeans were for bartering lycra: the Russians’ leotards represented tautness, prestige, discipline. But they clamored for my denim and all that it represented: American ruggedness, freedom, individualism.

Having been corrupted by moonbattery, Levi’s now represents the diametric opposite.

My tenure at Levi’s began as an assistant marketing manager in 1999, a few months after my thirtieth birthday.

Being a leftist in most respects, Sey loved it at Levi’s. However,

Things changed when Covid hit. Early on in the pandemic, I publicly questioned whether schools had to be shut down. This didn’t seem at all controversial to me. I felt—and still do—that the draconian policies would cause the most harm to those least at risk, and the burden would fall heaviest on disadvantaged kids in public schools, who need the safety and routine of school the most. …

I was called a racist—a strange accusation given that I have two black sons—a eugenicist, and a QAnon conspiracy theorist.

The other suits at Levi’s leaned on her to shut up about Covid.

Meantime, colleagues posted nonstop about the need to oust Trump in the November election. I also shared my support for Elizabeth Warren in the Democratic primary and my great sadness about the racially instigated murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd. No one at the company objected to any of that.

But Sey also wanted to talk about the senseless damage inflicted on children in the name of Covid hysteria. When she went on Laura Ingraham to talk about it, her fellow Levi’s employees came after her for being “anti-science” at the company’s struggle sessions, which they call “town halls.” After drawing attention to the strong correlation between Covid mortality and obesity, she was also denounced as “anti-fat.”

The Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion told her to do an “apology tour.” She refused.

Denouncing her as a racist — the ultimate thought crime — meant her heresy would not be tolerated.

The fact that I had been asked, back in 2017, to be the executive sponsor of the Black Employee Resource Group by two black employees did not matter.

Why would it matter? If you do not conform to doctrinaire leftism in all matters, you are a thought criminal. Doctrinaire leftism requires you to regard as gospel truth whatever Dr Fauci claims is “The Science” at any given moment. Thought criminals must be canceled, because they are racists.

In the fall of 2021, during a dinner with the CEO, I was told that I was on track to become the next CEO of Levi’s—the stock price had doubled under my leadership, and revenue had returned to pre-pandemic levels. The only thing standing in my way, he said, was me. All I had to do was stop talking about the school thing.

Too late. The Twitter mob caught the scent of a dissident and demanded her head.

In the last month, the CEO told me that it was “untenable” for me to stay. I was offered a $1 million severance package, but I knew I’d have to sign a nondisclosure agreement about why I’d been pushed out.

Sey turned down the money so she could tell her story. If it is worth $1 million to tell, it’s worth taking a few minutes to read the whole thing. It’s fitting that it would appear on the Substack page of Bari Weiss, formerly of the New York Times, another liberal who was bullied out for ideological impurity by the woke Taliban.

Kids Get a Taste of Freedom and Dignity

There was never a sensible medical reason to make kids wear masks, even if the masks were effective, because children are not significantly vulnerable to Covid. The detrimental effects of mask mandates for kids have been known for some time. But with liberals, the issue is never the issue; it is always the revolution. When this does not mean confiscating your money or directly seizing power, it means social engineering.

Maybe this social engineering project will work, in which case Covid will have helped produce a generation of good little socialists: i.e., obedient, dehumanized, indistinguishable, frightened, submissive serfs. Or maybe the characteristics that have traditionally made Americans American come from someplace too deep for progressives to reach. Give children a taste of freedom and dignity and they seem to like it:

Last week even Nevada’s Democrat governor Steve Sisolak gave up on a statewide mask mandate, leaving businesses and schools to set their own policies.

You saw the reaction when kids were told that beginning the next day, they would not have to wear masks anymore.

As Biden and his handlers have made clear, Democrats thought this was their moment to go for broke. The plan was to run roughshod over the opposition and achieve unprecedented power in the name of leftist ideology. In the process, American would be reduced to a country unfit to live in.

By overplaying their hand, they may have created a generation of patriots who will know from their earliest memories that Big Government is not their friend.

Juliette Kayyem of Harvard/CNN: Slash Truckers’ Tires

The soft tyranny stage will last only until our ruling class has sufficiently consolidated power. After that, no more Mr Nice Guy. For insight into the mentality of our rulers, look to Harvard, the Death Star of the liberal elite. Juliette Kayyem of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard shares her preferred response to working class resistance to insane Covid mandates:

Kayyem said there should have been no mercy for the truckers who blocked the Ambassador Bridge connecting the US and Canada.

“The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada. Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks,” Kayyem said in a Thursday twitter rant to her nearly 200,000 followers, calling it an “economic and security issue.”

Kayyem is also an analyst for CNN and a former Boston Globe columnist, and served as US Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Intergovernmental Affairs under Obama.

Despite 2 years of media-stoked Covid hysteria, we have not yet reached the point where Kayyem’s ham-fisted authoritarianism passes muster with the public.

As online outrage grew, she initially doubled down.

“Trust me, I will not run out of ways to make this hurt: cancel their insurance; suspend their drivers licenses; prohibit any future regulatory certification for truckers, etc. Have we learned nothing? These things fester when there are no consequences,” she said.

Then someone gave her a nudge and whispered, “Too far too fast.” She issued a clarification, sort of:

“Earlier today, I tweeted something that has been used by others to suggest I was promoting vigilantism. I was not. People have the freedom to protest. Governments have the responsibility to protect public safety. That was what I intended to say,” Kayyem wrote.

However, the message was received, loud and clear. Wait until we have the leverage, little people. Then we will deal with you.

That leverage could be only a voting rights bill and a packed Supreme Court away.

In the meantime, let’s hope Antifa and Black Lives Matter types get the word that she was not promoting vigilantism.

Kayyem also wants the unvaccinated put on a no-fly list, presumably even if they have natural immunity, which is more effective than the vaccines, as even the CDC admits. She is not an expert on health. She is an expert on government.

Watch Canadian Pol Panic in Response to Covid Pushback

Even the mildest resistance to their ham-fisted authoritarianism sends moonbats into panicked paroxysms of hyperbole. We saw it after the protest against election fraud that got out of hand a year ago last January 6. We are seeing it in Canada, as normal people who want Big Government to leave them alone side with the Freedom Convoy against Covid tyranny.
