When five black cops working for a black police chief in a majority black city beat to death a black guy, people looked for explanations for how this could have happened. The media establishment, applying the When All You’ve Got Is a Hammer principle, jumped the shark completely with the risibly preposterous assertion that white racism is to blame for the Tyre Nichols killing. The actual explanation is erosion — of both standards because of Affirmative Action and the War on Police, and the family because of sexual immorality and the welfare state.

Regarding the erosion of standards:

At least two out of of five Memphis police officers charged with murder in the fatal beatdown of Tyre Nichols joined the force after the department relaxed its hiring requirements.

Tadarrius Bean and Demetrius Haley joined the Memphis PD in August 2020, after education requirements were lowered.

Retired NYPD detective Mike Alcazar, who teaches at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, notes that this results in “less desirable” candidates.

“They’re desperate. They want police officers,” Alcazar said. “They’re going through it, they check off some boxes, saying, ‘Ok, they’re good enough, get them on.’”

Here’s how desperate:

The department showed signs of struggle with recruiting new police officers, offering $15,000 signing bonuses in 2021 and 2022, Fox 13 reported. …

The department also revealed that [it] was even offering waivers for people who have been convicted on felony charges.

Urban police departments are desperate to find recruits because the heavy emphasis on Affirmative Action shrinks the pool of candidates, and because the liberal establishment’s ferocious hostility to local police — which became conspicuous during the promotion of Black Lives Matter — has made the job unappealing. Few want to put their lives on the line with their hands tied, knowing that politically motivated brass will not have their back, and that the vermin comprising the mainstream media will side with criminals to rally the public against them.

Speaking of Affirmative Action, Memphis is one of the many cities that just happens to have a black woman for a police chief:

Cerelyn “CJ” Davis … was fired from the Atlanta police department in 2008 for her alleged involvement in a sex crimes investigation into the husband of an Atlanta police sergeant…

Two detectives accused Davis of telling them not to investigate Terrill Marion Crane, who was married to sergeant Tonya Crane after the police department obtained photos of him with underage girls.

A federal grand jury later indicted Terrill Crane on child pornography.

Thanks to identity politics, Davis will always be qualified for a top job, no matter how spectacularly she fails.

A top adviser for Stacey Abrams’ voting rights nonprofit defended anti-cop activists who set a police car ablaze and smashed windows while protesting the death of an environmental activist this past weekend in Atlanta.

“Voting rights” is liberalese for election fraud. The “environmental activist” was Manuel Teran, who used “they/it” pronouns, and who was killed by return fire after shooting a state trooper involved in clearing a moonbat infestation out of the area designated for a new police training facility. Windows were smashed in the building housing the Atlanta Police Foundation, which was also attacked with fireworks and defaced with graffiti.

Marisa Pyle, a senior rapid response manager at Abrams’ Fair Fight Action, who also worked as a senior manager for Abrams’ One Georgia leadership committee during her most recent failed Georgia gubernatorial run, rushed to defend the anti-police protesters and the ensuing chaos.

“You cannot commit violence against a window or a car. Killing a human? Now that, that is violence,” Pyle wrote on Twitter this past weekend. “Shame on Atlanta’s leaders who fall into the same tired path of protecting property while our people are murdered by their police.”

Saturday night in Atlanta, Antifa thugs escalated the War on Police, attacking the Atlanta Police Foundation, smashing windows, and setting a police car on fire. The main pretext was the demise of fellow terrorist Manuel Teran, who was killed by return fire after shooting a state trooper involved in clearing leftists lowlifes from the planned cite of a new Atlanta Police Department Training Facility known by moonbats as Cop City. The violence was not limited to Atlanta. Jared Dowell, the sexually perplexed son of the Democrat whip, took part in an incident in Boston the same night:

The Boston Police Department noted that around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, officers responded to a scene of leftist disturbance at the Parkman Bandstand Monument in the Boston Common.

According to the BPD, officers found the son of House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) vandalizing the monument, writing “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB,” the latter of which stands for “all cops are bastards.” …

When officers intervened to arrest the son of the Democratic whip and restore order, a group of 20 leftist violators began “screaming profanities through megaphones” and interfering with Dowell’s arrest.

Katherine Clark would not be among them. She can do more to advance the progressive agenda from her position in Washington.

An officer was brutally struck in the face and left “bleeding from the nose and mouth” during the leftists’ violent efforts to prevent the arrest, which Dowell is accused of partaking in.

Dowell’s outlook runs in the family:

[H]is BLM-supporting mother stressed in 2020 that it should be “easier to prosecute” officers.

Clark — the Democrat who reportedly failed to properly disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in stock trades in 2021 —confirmed that her son, whom she refers to as a “daughter” and calls “Riley,” was arrested in Boston, noting that “this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting.”

The heart bleeds.

While apparently reluctant to denounce Antifa’s violent attacks on Boston police over the weekend, Clark has previously been quick to accuse her political rivals of fomenting unrest and to warn of violence when politically expedient.

Clark shrieks that Republicans are “extremists” who endanger “our country’s national security” and appeal to “hate speech and violence.” With a straight face, she screams, “The tolerance of violence and bigotry in our political discourse must end” and “Violence begets violence.”

When the Party of Hypocrisy denounces violence, be prepared to defend yourself.

A Minnesota police officer was forced to walk back a social media post from earlier this month, after some critics were offended he posted a Thin Blue Line flag to commemorate law enforcement on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

In a society under the thumb of moonbats, that constituted thoughtcrime.

Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green issued that apology over the weekend after the original post, which is now deleted, was reportedly flooded with comments bringing the intent of the symbol into question.

When the chief of police apologizes for the Thin Blue Line flag, we can hardly expect high morale among officers who are expected to face death on behalf of a hostile public, under the command of invertebrates who do not have their back.

This goes beyond Minnesota, birthplace of the Cult of George Floyd. The Thin Blue Line flag has been banned by the LAPD, lest officers take pride in their profession. Nationwide, the liberals in charge continue to abet criminals and tie police hands.

“It is difficult to express the level of utter disgust and disappointment with Chief Moore’s politically pandering directive to remove Thin Blue Line flags and memorials for fallen officers from all public areas within our police stations. This direction came as a result of complaints from anti-police, criminal apologists, and activists who hold too much sway over our city leaders and, unfortunately, our Chief.”

Moonbats screech that the thin blue line flag is “white supremacist.” That this is untrue is particularly obvious in Los Angeles, where most cops are either black or Hispanic.

Moore has made it explicit that higher-ups do not have the backs of officers on the street. The inevitable effect on morale will degrade public safety. This is in accordance with the liberal agenda, as George Soros having placed pro-criminal Los Angeles County DA George Gascon in power confirms. The likely intent of deliberately increasing violent crime is to set the stage for a major gun grab, leaving law-abiding citizens still less safe.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is vocal about his support for police agencies, launched the Law Enforcement Recruitment Bonus Payment Program, which offers officers from other states up to $5,000 as a sign-on bonus.

Even with lower pay, Florida police end up with more to spend due to New York’s brutal tax burden. Also, in Florida they are more likely to be treated with respect, and to work for people who have their back.

The bad news is that the quality of those serving in the NYPD will continue to deteriorate as recruiters get more desperate. Denigration of police will become a self-fulfilling prophecy in liberal cities like New York, where people will end up with the police they have earned.

Critics say that the new measures will handcuff police and increase crime by releasing criminals with tickets rather than arresting them for certain crimes.

Democrats have been generating violent anarchy on purpose. Their #1 donor, ahead of even Sam Bankman-Fried, is George Soros, who has spent $millions installing pro-criminal DAs along the lines of Alvin Bragg (New York), George Gascon (Los Angeles), Kim Foxx (Chicago), Kim Ogg (Houston), Larry Krasner (Philadelphia), Chesa Boudin (San Francisco), and Kim Gardner (St Louis). The resulting explosion in crime was clearly premeditated.

The new law also allows for anonymous misconduct complaints against police officers when in the past officers were able to know the identity of the person accusing them.

The effect on morale, recruitment, and retention of police officers will be as intended, resulting in fewer and lower quality cops.

“When I said that this is the most dangerous law I’ve ever seen, I believe that,” Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau told Fox News.

The Most Dangerous Law is also known as the Purge Law, in reference to the movies/TV series about crime being made legal for 12 hours once a year to keep the population down. In Illinois, the Purge will take place all year around, until the population disappears completely. This is the fate of every state that succumbs to the Democrat Death Spiral, whereby Democrats drive out sane people, resulting in ever more radical Democrats getting elected.

Progressives have no fear that voters will hold them responsible for the crime they create. It occurs mainly among constituencies that have already succumbed to the Democrat Death Spiral, where there is no chance of anyone but Democrats winning elections.

To grasp their motive, consider that there are two major impediments to the liberal agenda: the First Amendment (which they have been taking a sledgehammer to) and the Second Amendment.

When hamstringing police results in violent crime, the solution is to disarm law-abiding citizens. If that sounds insane to you, congratulations on not being a Democrat.

Anarchotyranny means that even as Democrats tighten the ligature on fundamental liberties like freedom of religion and the right of self-defense, they further erode law and order at the local level. A bill filed in Texas last week would forbid law enforcement from using nonlethal or as they call it nowadays “less-lethal” ammunition, which is designed to incapacitate but not kill, in case BLM/Antifa rioters or other criminals get hurt:

Rep. Erin Zwiener, a Hays County [Austin area] Democrat, filed the bill that would prohibit police from using less-lethal ammunition to control crowds. According to Zwiener’s bill, House Bill 974, less-lethal ammunition includes those commonly known as rubber bullets, wooden bullets, sponge rounds and bean bag rounds.

California’s Alameda County (Oakland area) has already agreed to stop using rubber bullets after hooligans were injured in the 2020 riots. Moonbattery-addled Washington State has passed a law banning them.

Those tasked with maintaining public order are not happy:

“How many times do we have to do this circle?” [Dallas Police Association president Mike] Mata said. “We started with the [lateral vascular neck restraint] and it was a great tool, but just like anything else, when it’s done improperly, it can injure. Then we went to the baton. Well, we can’t use the baton because it’s an aggressive impact weapon that can injure – obviously, you’re hitting someone with a steel stick. Then we went to the Taser. Well, they looked to stop doing the Taser because if you’re a person who’s going through some form of drug-induced or you’re in poor health there’s a chance you could have a heart attack. Then, we had to stop using the pepper spray for the same reasons.”

Stern admonitions will still be allowed, so long as officers don’t raise their voices or say anything offensive.

With the hundreds of Black Lives Matter/Antifa riots that occurred in 2020, Democrats exploited street violence as a political weapon, just as Nazis did with the Sturmabteilung. The next time the liberal establishment finds it advantageous to whip urban mobs into a frenzy over some alleged social injustice, the police will find their hands tied all the tighter.

Christopher Schilling of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, which is nearby, apparently took issue with Reading’s post alerting parents in a local Facebook group of posters hanging at the entrance of her 7-year-old’s school displaying different kinds of sexuality, including the virtues of being “polysexual.”

According to the talking points of our degenerate rulers, to protect small children from the depredations of LGBT groomers is to threaten their safety.

Snarled Lt Col Schilling:

“The Joint Base leadership takes this situation very seriously and from the beginning have had the Security Forces working with multiple state and local law enforcement agencies to monitor the situation to ensure the continued safety of the entire community.”

Children as young as 9 years were made to create posters advocating various forms of sexual perversion. We are to a point where not approving of this can result in involvement by the military.

Local police did their part too:

[Schilling] – a senior staffer at the New Jersey military base – said that staffers were working with local police to ‘monitor the situation’ while ensuring ‘the continued safety of the entire community.’

North Hanover Police Chief Robert Duff pressured Reading to take down her post objecting to the sexualization of children.

Nicholas Joseph Gutierrez had to be released because California law bars authorities from holding a suspect in custody for more than 48 hours without presenting the case to prosecutors, a spokesperson for the LA County Sheriff’s Department said.

There appears to be no question that they have the right guy and that it was deliberate. But Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva needs an air-tight case before he can present it to ultraliberal DA George Gascon, who has made it clear that he is there to protect criminals and oppose law enforcement. Gascon was installed in office by George Soros, the only person who has been giving more to Democrats than even Sam Bankman-Fried.

In another case involving an SUV, presumably tolerant liberal Shannon Brandt was released on absurdly low bail after allegedly murdering teenager Cayler Ellingson with his car for being a Republican. We must need common sense SUV control.

At least SUV killer Darrell Brooks, who deliberately drove through a Christmas parade, killing six and injuring more than 60, is behind bars. The black supremacist received life, after denying life to his victims. At the current rate of societal decay, the 40-year-old should live long enough at taxpayer expense to receive a full pardon.

The dumber the Democrat, the more brazen the hypocrisy. Cori Bush was elected to represent Black Lives Matter. Her signature issue is defunding the police, so that criminals can run riot. She also supports gun control, so that law-abiding citizens will have no defense from sociopaths. But this only applies to us little people, not our rulers, which is why Bush spent nearly half a $million of campaign money on security while trying to deny security to the rest of us.

Bush has now directed over $490,000 into private security for the 2022 election cycle as she remains one of the last Democrats to openly call for the defunding of the police.

Even CBS News had to ask her about blowing a fortune on security while hamstringing if not abolishing local police. Her response:

“They would rather I die?” Bush asked. “You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see? You want to see me die? You know, because that could be the alternative.”

That actually applies to many of her constituents, who are vulnerable to violent crime. But being dead won’t stop them from voting Democrat.

Bush said she would ensure that she has security, because she has had attempts on her life and has “too much work to do.”

“So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen,” she added.

“Suck it up” sums up the attitude of Democrats toward the little people whose country they are methodically destroying.

People who noisily hate America now run America. Everything is proceeding from there as you would expect.

Defund the Police-promoting Councilwoman Tiffany Cabán’s Queens office notified the NYPD after receiving a slew of threatening phone calls — just days after she urged local businesses to refrain from dialing 911. …

The callers spewed vile threats, telling Cabán they hoped she got “beaten up on the subway” and “your eyes fall out,” according to sources. …

The messages came after it emerged that Cabán and Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani had released a “public safety” guide that encouraged local merchants to call 311, instead of summoning cops, in most cases.

Dialing 311 is for nonemergency government services. Why call the police when there is no shortage of social workers?

Businesses victimized by the rampant crime that characterizes New York under liberal rule are instructed by the guide to “give the person causing harm the chance to correct their behavior,” obtain mental health services for the criminals that victimize them, and try “community mediation” rather than law enforcement.

This could explain the reference to Cabán’s eyes falling out

Cabán tweeted that “Subway violence is a one-in-a-million event” — outraging the woman who may lose the sight in her right eye after being viciously attacked days earlier in the transit system.

Cabán made her pronouncement Monday as video circulated of the sickening assault on straphanger Elizabeth Gomes in Queens, the progressive pol’s own borough.

We don’t need cops to prevent stores from being looted or subway riders from being assaulted by the sociopaths who have been running amok, but we do need them to punish disgusted constituents for telling Cabán they hope she gets a taste of the chaos she and her fellow Democrats have been inflicting on New Yorkers.

For example, the Black Lives Matter phenomenon — which featured hundreds of declared riots and $billions in donations from corporations — is based on the notion that due to systemic racism, blacks live in terror of the police. The New York Post reports:

The suspect – identified by police as Uchechukwu Godwin, 23 – used a metal pipe to repeatedly strike the turret lights of the traffic cruiser parked on Broadway near West 36th Street around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to cops and video footage.

Godwin was arrested soon afterward, as he must have assumed he would be.

He was charged with criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, auto stripping, criminal possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct, cops said.

His past arrests include grand larceny and criminal mischief. No doubt they have already let him loose again. He will continue to wreak havoc until he kills someone, at which point the authorities may keep him locked up for a while.

In the meantime, he knows he will be mollycoddled. That’s why violent crime is so prevalent.
