State of the Swamp: Democrat Alternative to State of the Union

Some Democrats found a suitable alternative to last night’s State of the Union address. Gateway Pundit reports on the State of the Swamp:

Organized by DEFIANCE.org, the Portland Frog Brigade, and COURIER Newsroom, the event was billed as a “live rebuttal” to Trump’s speech.

Attendees were encouraged to wear green attire or full frog suits as a symbol of “peaceful defiance.”

That is, defiance of the USA’s elected leadership, which was voted into office largely on a platform of enforcing immigration law.

Frogs are sacred to Democrats these days because a moonbat wearing a frog costume managed to get pepper-sprayed by ICE last year in Portland.

Attendees include Robert De Niro and Mark Ruffalo, as well as failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, disgraced CNN host Don Lemon, and radical mayors like Chicago’s Brandon Johnson and Minneapolis’ Jacob Frey.

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) was also reportedly involved.

Maniac Released for Being Black Kills Three

On the negative side, three people have been avoidably murdered. On the positive side, NHS moonbats can feel self-righteous about their nonracistness.

The Daily Mail reports:

A mentally ill man who later killed three people was released by medics who flagged the ‘over-representation’ of young black men in detention, an inquiry has heard.

Schizophrenic Valdo Calocane slaughtered fellow university students Barnaby Webber and Grace O’Malley-Kumar, both 19, and 65-year-old Ian Coates in a random stabbing spree in Nottingham in June 2023.

Three pedestrians were also seriously hurt when Calocane stole Mr Coates’s van and drove it at members of the public before he was stopped by police.

Calocane should have been on meds, but…

An NHS review last year found Calocane was not forced to take long-lasting antipsychotic medication before his rampage because he was scared of needles.

He waved many a red flag within the mental health system.

His behaviour was so troubling that a doctor warned in July 2020 that Calocane ‘will end up killing someone’, yet he was discharged two weeks later.

A few years after that,

Calocane was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in January 2024 after admitting manslaughter by diminished responsibility and three counts of attempted murder – something which has been widely criticised by the victims’ families.

“Indefinite” means they can unleash him at the public’s throat again whenever it suits their warped moral vanity to do so.

Caltech Genius Evidently Killed by Liberal Judge

The most dangerous group in American society in terms of its responsibility for avoidable violence may be liberal judges. One has apparently managed to kill a famous Caltech genius.

The New York Post reports:

Freddy Snyder was released by a judge using an “unnecessary prosecutions” law in December — before allegedly going on to kill Carl Grillmair in Llano [California] last week.

Grillmair is known for his work on NASA’s Spitzer Space telescope. As for Snyder,

The 29-year-old was picked up two days before Christmas for carrying a loaded firearm and an attempted jail escape, but was released on his own recognizance.

The felony case was suddenly dismissed under the Penal Code 1385 California, often referred to as PC 1385, a code ultimately decided by the judge.

Snyder has no known previous connection to Grillmair. He was picked up for carjacking soon afterward.

Snyder was formally charged with murder, carjacking, and burglary.

That should keep him locked up for at least a few weeks, even in California. But the judge — whose name has not been disclosed — will not be facing any charges for enabling the murder.

Gavin Newsom Lets Slip Democrat Attitude Toward Blacks

Is it really worth it for the favoritism and handouts to be held in such contempt? Gavin Newsom has let slip the liberal elite’s condescending attitude toward blacks.

During a Sunday night appearance promoting his forthcoming memoir, “Young Man in a Hurry,” Newsom told Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens that he wasn’t trying to appear superior.

“I’m like you. I’m not better than you,” Newsom said. “I’m a 960 SAT guy.”

Here’s what Newsom meant by “I’m like you”:

According to 2024 College Board data, the average SAT score for black test takers is 907, compared with 1083 for white students.

That’s why academic admissions are largely based on race rather than aptitude. Newsom owes his own success to connections:

Newsom has built his political brand on elite credentials and progressive moral posturing, yet his own biography is steeped in institutional advantage. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1989, having received a letter of recommendation from then-Gov. Jerry Brown, who had appointed Newsom’s father to a California appellate judgeship.

Appallingly, if he is on the ballot in 2028, 90% of blacks will vote for him.

Newsom is in the wrong business, all right. He should be selling used cars.

His gaffe recalls the famous Joe Biden quote, “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.” Kathy Hochul’s proclamation that black kids in the Bronx don’t know what the word “computer” means also comes to mind. Then there is the famous line by the Father of the Welfare State, Lyndon Johnson.

Respect for Law Enforcement in Mamdani’s New York

Considering the NYPD officers who rushed into the World Trade Center to save innocent victims of Islam just before in collapsed, it would be hard to imagine a more profound insult to what they represent than to elect a pro-terrorist, pro-criminal Muslim as mayor. So this scene should come as no surprise:

A society that has no respect for law enforcement has no respect for law. It is not a society, but a dysfunctional mob.

Climate Kook Eurocrats Spend Ever More on Private Jets

The moonbats running Europe have stultified the economy and driven energy prices into the stratosphere in the name of their climate ideology, according to which anything consuming fossil fuels must be suppressed or the weather will be warmer, which would supposedly constitute a catastrophe.

Even Politico can’t help but notice their hypocrisy:

The EU is planning to spend as much as €16 million over the next four years to fly its top officials by private jet, according to a tender document.

This is an increase of €3 million from the previous four-year period and is 50 percent higher than the period before that, which ended in 2021.

Taxpayers are forced to finance the lavish travel arrangements of pernicious bureaucrats who have limited the public’s ability to travel.

According to Diane Vitry, aviation director at the NGO Transport and Environment, private jets pollute “five to 14 times more than commercial flights and 50 times more than trains per passenger.” But Eurocrats find them more convenient.

In its response, the Commission said that increased private jet spending was not a row-back of its climate ambitions and that it retained its commitment “to be a front runner in the transition towards a climate-neutral society.”

That is, they will suppress those they rule over all the more tyrannically, so as to make it up to their weather gods.
