Maybe the smug arrogance is unjustified. Maybe there can be legal consequences even for a rich and famous member of the liberal establishment who enjoys membership in multiple “marginalized” identity groups.
Via Fox News:
Former CNN host Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal authorities on Friday over his involvement in the viral protest by anti-ICE agitators at a Minnesota church.
The “protest” was actually a raid, during which a mob of left-wing thugs that included Lemon burst into Cities Church in Saint Paul during service and terrorized the congregation — particularly the children.
Some assumed they would get away with it, with ultraleftists like Keith Ellison running the legal system. However:
Ironically enough,
DOJ officials have previously suggested the former CNN star and the other anti-ICE agitators had violated the FACE Act and the Ku Klux Klan Act, among other crimes.
The purpose of the FACE act was to criminalize Christianity in the vicinity of abortion abattoirs. But to make it seem evenhanded, legislators had to include protection of churches.
Journalism long ago crossed over into activism. From there, Lemon took it the next inevitable step. But in his arrogance, he got over his skis.
On the bright side for Lemon, the adulation the arrest will earn him among liberals may revive his dwindling career — provided he doesn’t spend too long behind bars.
The unrepentant moonbat remains insolent:
“You’re not going to diminish my voice. Go ahead. Make me into the new Jimmy Kimmel if you want,” Lemon told the DOJ. “Just do it! Because I’m not going anywhere.”
Lemon has achieved a level of abasement so shameful that he views Jimmy Kimmel as a hero to be emulated.
