California Introduces Stop Nick Shirley Act

Nick Shirley is a genuine journalist, in stark contrast to the incurious propagandists comprising the liberal establishment media. To learn what would happen to genuine journalists were Democrats to consolidate power, look to places where leftism has prevailed, like China, Cuba — or California.

California State Assemblymember Carl DeMaio sounds the alarm:

DeMaio is slamming state Democrats for voting to advance a controversial new law (AB 2624) to silence citizen journalists and shield taxpayer-funded organizations from public scrutiny.

What DeMaio calls the “Stop Nick Shirley Act,” Democrats bleat is all about protecting the put-upon colonists they have imported from the Third World to displace American voters:

AB 2624 claims to be about protecting immigrant organizations from “threats of violence,” when in fact the legislation would apply to any left-wing group that claims to provide any services to legal or illegal immigrants. For example, under AB 2624 entities like the Somali “Learing” Daycare centers would all be covered if they operated inside California.

These phony daycare centers set up to facilitate the massive fraud permitted by Democrats like Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison were famously exposed by Shirley.

AB 2624 would allow activists and taxpayer-funded organizations to demand the removal of video evidence — even if it captures misconduct in plain view — and threatens journalists with massive financial penalties.

Again we see that the Democratic Party is the party of crime. As DeMaio puts it,

“If this bill becomes law, the message is clear to every journalist in California: expose corruption and you will be punished.”

It is no surprise that the Democrats who dominate California want to shut Shirley down. If he is as successful unmasking fraud there as he has been in Minnesota, it will make clinging to power more difficult.

Gavin Newsom Allows Many $Billions in Welfare Fraud

If Gavin Newsom really wanted to cut down on waste in California, instead of flushing $20 million down a consulting firm, he would stop allowing massive welfare fraud.

From City Journal:

From unemployment insurance and Medicaid to failed homeless initiatives and welfare programs, seemingly every state program has been compromised by criminals. The best estimates suggest that, on the governor’s watch, fraudsters, scammers, and organized crime rings have stolen at least $180 billion from taxpayers.

The fraud has been out of control since barely a year after Newsom took office, when California’s tyrannical overreaction to Covid shut down the economy, throwing millions out of work while Newsom dined with his fellow rich moonbats at the French Laundry.

In response to the crisis, Newsom sought to dump pallets of cash across the state—as quickly as possible.

It was dumped largely into the pockets of fraudsters.

Not only did the state have some of the most generous welfare programs in the country; its bureaucrats had also failed to implement some basic fraud controls during Newsom’s tenure.

Scammers have been robbing California taxpayers from as far away as Romania. Others do it from Tennessee:

Around September 2020, Fontrell Antonio Baines, a rapper from Memphis known as Nuke Bizzle, released a music video on YouTube entitled “EDD.” In the song, Baines bragged about ripping off California’s UI [unemployment insurance] program. “Go to the bank with a stack of these,” Baines rapped, holding up EDD envelopes. Another rapper can be heard saying: “You gotta sell cocaine, I just file a claim.” All told, Baines obtained more than $700,000 in stolen funds using preloaded EDD debit cards.

Democrats know how to take care of their base.

California’s prison population apparently got in on the action, too: the EDD allegedly paid out hundreds of millions of dollars in fraudulent claims in prisoners’ names, including those of at least 133 inmates on death row.

Covid was a looting spree:

State officials eventually admitted to having paid out approximately $20 billion in fraudulent claims during the pandemic, and to making an estimated $55 billion in improper payments.

Actual numbers are of course higher. According to fraud expert Haywood Talcove, CEO of LexisNexis Risk Solutions for Government,

“In California, at one point, you had more people applying for unemployment insurance benefits than you had people over the age of 18.”

The looting did not stop after Covid hysteria ran out of gas. Just considering the California implementation of Medicaid,

California’s attorney general has conceded that “Medi-Cal fraud could reach billions of dollars annually.”

That is to say, many billions.

Based on state experts’ best guesses of annual Medi-Cal expenditures and applying a conservative, 15 percent fraud rate to each fiscal year since 2019, Medi-Cal has lost some $146 billion in taxpayer funds to fraud on Gavin Newsom’s watch.

The fraud is too massive to ignore indefinitely. Democrats have been forced to respond — by making fraud even easier:

State Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas sponsored a bill that would raise the threshold for felony welfare fraud from $950 to $25,000. The measure would also make it more difficult to charge perjury based on misstatements to county welfare departments. Republican State Assemblyman Carl DeMaio has said that if the bill becomes law, it will effectively “legalize welfare fraud” in California.

Thanks to Trump being in office, the Feds are stepping in.

Bill Essayli, first assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, announced the creation of a federal task force to combat fraud and corruption in the state’s homelessness programs. The task force has already brought charges in several multimillion-dollar homelessness-fraud cases—and Essayli has vowed that more are coming. “California has spent $24 billion in the last five years on homelessness, and no one can account for where that money has really gone,” Essayli said in January. Gavin Newsom, he added, is the “king of fraud.”

With fraud on this scale, it is no wonder California is crumbling and cannot pay its bills. But at least Democrats are innovative when it comes to finding new ways to confiscate other people’s money so they can waste it. For example, a San Francisco homeowner was fined $50,000 for trimming trees that required it:

BLM Activist Bostonian of the Year Stole Nearly $225,000

A certain moral character could be expected of a Black Lives Matter militant placed upon a pedestal by the liberal establishment media in moonbattery-addled Boston. Monica Cannon-Grant offers no surprises.

Via National Review:

Monica Cannon-Grant, a Black Lives Matter activist who was named “Bostonian of the Year” by the Boston Globe, was ordered to pay back every dime she stole from her nonprofit, unemployment benefits, and other fraudulent practices, amounting to almost $225,000.

Don’t worry, libs. She received only the mildest of wrist slaps from a Biden-appointed Woman of Color judge:

U.S. District Court Judge Angel Kelley sentenced Cannon-Grant to four years’ probation, six months of home detention, and 100 hours of community service.

Here’s why federal prosecutors had recommended 18 months behind bars:

Cannon-Grant pleaded guilty in September to 18 counts, including three counts of wire fraud conspiracy, ten counts of wire fraud, one count of mail fraud, two counts of filing false tax returns, and two counts of failing to file tax returns.

In addition to the usual racial reasons, this may help explain the exceedingly light sentence:

Cannon-Grant founded Violence in Boston Inc. in 2017, coordinated massive protests and marches following the death of George Floyd, and facilitated other progressive social campaigns.

Bleeding heart liberal do-gooders motivated by the Black Lives Matter riots to donate to Cannon-Grant have no cause to complain. They paid for the self-satisfaction of having confirmed their righteous devotion to moonbattery. This they duly received. However, taxpayers were also looted:

“Cannon-Grant not only stole from her own non-profit organization but did so at the expense of multiple public financial programs designed to help those truly in need,” Thomas Demeo, special agent in charge of the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation at the Boston Field Office, said in a press release in January.

As could have been predicted, considering that from the beginning the purpose of Black Lives Matter has been to empower racially correct criminals versus law enforcement,

Cannon-Grant is one of several well-known BLM activists who defrauded the various social justice organizations they were responsible for leading, prompting the Department of Justice to launch an investigation into the movement, searching for potential donor fraud, following reports of mismanagement of funds.

Investigators had better hurry. Once Democrats regain power, BLM corruption will be swept under the rug by Tim Walz/Keith Ellison types, as with the massive Somali welfare fraud in Minnesota.

Tim Walz Faceplants at Fraud Hearing

The guy Democrats tried to place a heartbeat away from the presidency was on Capitol Hill yesterday for a fraud hearing held by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. It did not go well for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

The Daily Signal reports:

The Justice Department, which has indicted almost 100 people for fraud schemes in Minnesota, has estimated the scale of fraud to have potentially exceeded $9 billion since 2018.

Feeding Our Future looted taxpayers for an alleged $250 million. Walz and his liberal media allies at the Minneapolis Star Tribune claimed that a state court ordered the state Education Department to resume payments to this criminal enterprise. The court denies this.

Asked Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH),

“So, the court is lying or you’re lying?”

“I can’t tell you,” answered Tampon Tim.

That’s not all he could not tell the Committee. Rep Nancy Mace (R-SC) wondered if, unlike Ketanji Brown Jackson, he could say what a woman is. He could not. He also does not know his Minnesota math:

Audio Incriminates Keith Ellison in Somali Fraud

Democrats’ arrogance may be their downfall. Their dominance of the institutions comprising the establishment has convinced them there will be no accountability for their corrupt and malevolent behavior. The multi-$billion Somali fraud they facilitated may prove them wrong.

Already their last VP candidate, Minnesota Governor Tampon Tim Walz, has abandoned reelection plans and may face prosecution. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison joins him in the hot water.

Ellison is a tyrannical alumnus of Nation of Islam and former DNC deputy chair possibly best known for railroading the innocent Derek Chauvin. He would look good in prison orange.

Massive Minnesota Welfare Fraud Funds Islamic Terror

Reducing an American state to a colony of the world’s most corrupt nation means massive amounts of taxpayer money lost to graft. Worst yet, because colonists from the land of Black Hawk Down are Muslim, much of it goes to finance terrorism.

Federal counterterrorism sources confirm that millions of dollars in stolen funds have been sent back to Somalia, where they ultimately landed in the hands of the terror group Al-Shabaab. As one confidential source put it: “The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer.”

Federal taxpayers are getting fleeced too. Consider Minnesota’s Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services program. According to former Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota Joe Thompson, the “vast majority” of the program is fraudulent.

A favorite Somali tactic is to sign up Somali parents to pretend their children have autism, then give them a kickback from the taxpayer funds procured thereby.

Then there is Feeding Our Future:

In 2019, Feeding Our Future received $3.4 million in federal funding disbursed by the state.

As with many Big Government programs, it exploded in size during Covid hysteria.

Using fake meal counts, doctored attendance records, and fabricated invoices, the perpetrators of the fraud ring claimed to be serving thousands of meals a day, seven days a week, to underprivileged children. In 2021, Feeding Our Future received nearly $200 million in funding.

Former Minnesota State Senator David Gaither explains why elected officials turn a blind eye:

“[I]f you’re a politician, it’s a significant disadvantage for you to alienate the Somali community. If you don’t win the Somali community, you can’t win Minneapolis. And if you don’t win Minneapolis, you can’t win the state. End of story.”

Speaking of elected officials,

Several individuals involved in the Feeding Our Future scheme donated to, or appeared publicly with, Ilhan Omar, the Somali-born congresswoman from Minneapolis. Omar’s deputy district director, Ali Isse, advocated on behalf of Feeding Our Future.

Much of the money is sent off to the looters’ home country:

In 2023 alone, the Somali diaspora sent back $1.7 billion—more than the Somali government’s budget for that year.

The Somali terror group Al-Shabaab is linked to al Qaeda. According to a former official who worked on a Joint Terrorism Task Force,

“For every dollar that is transferred from the Twin Cities back to Somalia, Al-Shabaab is . . . taking a cut of it.”

Bleeding heart do-gooder extravagance combines with pathological greed to finance pure evil. Minnesota is a microcosm of the red–green alliance that will soon destroy New York City under Zohran Mamdani and threatens the whole country.

Black College Revealed to Be Criminal Enterprise

Even the most lucrative scams can only last for so long:

A historically black university whose president is under scrutiny for plagiarism allegations reported on by The Daily Wire is a “criminal enterprise to divert federal and state funds,” according to a federal lawsuit filed by the school’s former Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.

It is one of four similar lawsuits filed in the last few months against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, its president Heidi Anderson, its provost Rondall Allen, and its diversity, equity, and inclusion czar Jason Casares, that all follow a similar pattern: A faculty member allegedly discovers wrongdoing at the university, and then is retaliated against by the university’s DEI office.

Claims from the suits paint a picture of a university with almost no academic standards, that admits 90% of applicants and looks the other way at cheating and truancy to avoid worsening its 17% on-time graduation rate and keep the federal student loan money flowing.

Ten percent of applicants were turned down? They must have been Caucasians.

It’s just one school, but it’s a start. When the entire higher education establishment has been acknowledged as a criminal enterprise, the cleanup can begin. The first steps will be to drastically curtail coercive government funding, to end government backing of student loans, and to terminate DEI so only legitimate students are enrolled.

Ilhan Omar Refuses to Repay Her Student Loans

Ilhan Omar should live in New York so she can vote for Zohran Mamdani. She personifies his base: left-wing Third World colonists who come to this country to mooch and ruin. Better still, she should live the country she represents in Congress — namely, Somalia. The terror-supporting anti-American moonbat has worn out her welcome:

Omar has fallen behind on her student loan payments and has attempted to “bully” federal officials over her debts, the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) alleged in a Thursday letter to [House Speaker Mike] Johnson. …

Omar, who has supported plans to cancel student loan debt, has between $15,000-$50,000 in student loan debt, according to her most recent financial disclosure.

When students loans are not repaid, US taxpayers pick up the tab. As Jones observes,

“The fact that someone making $174,000 as a Member of Congress cannot pay their student loans is unconscionable and embarrassing.”

Most Democrat congresscritters make considerably more than that under the table. Consider Nasty Pelosi.

“Adding insult to injury, there are credible claims that she is using her influence as a Member of Congress to bully the Department of Education into not collecting the past-due payments,” Jones wrote.

It would be nice to see her ejected from Congress — and even nicer if she were sent back to Somalia. She says she wouldn’t mind:

If Omar comes to believe she really might be returned to her homeland, she will screech like a scalded cat.
