Let’s give some more thought to what it means that Los Angeles voters elected the Soros-backed openly pro-criminal George Gascon to be County District Attorney. Via KABC:

[A]ttorney Samuel Dordulian … is representing several families of crime victims.

In one case, a baby sitter is accused of beating a 6-month-old girl with a blunt object, shattering the baby’s skull and causing severe brain damage. The girl, now 3-years-old, is blind and forced to eat through a feeding tube.

Dordulian says under Gascon’s new directives, the baby sitter can no longer be charged with a great bodily injury enhancement which could have sent the woman to prison for up to 10 years.

That means she will almost certainly get out on probation, putting her in a position to inflict further horrors on the defenseless.

“You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs,” Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times propagandist Walter Duranty wrote as he shrugged off Stalin’s atrocities. If he were around today, he might write, “You can’t construct liberal utopia without cracking a few babies’ skulls.”

In another case, a misunderstood victim of mass incarceration shot his 20-year-old girlfriend in the face eight times. The deputy DA handling the case worries that Gascon’s directives will result in him getting out on parole as well.

Then there’s Rhett Nelson, believed to have murdered Los Angeles County Deputy Joseph Gilbert Solano. Via Fox News:

Nelson, 31, of Utah, was accused of walking up to Deputy Solano at a Jack in the Box fast-food outlet in Alhambra in June 2019 and shooting him in the back of the head. The 50-year-old Solano died two days later.

Earlier that same day, prosecutors said Nelson also fatally shot Dmitry Koltsov, a professional skateboarder from Russia.

Nelson’s alleged crimes include aggravating special circumstances like shooting out of a vehicle and using a handgun to commit a crime. Such special circumstances allow authorities to keep truly heinous criminals locked away so that the public will be safe from them.

But not with Gascon in charge. He plans to drop the special circumstances allegations.

As charged, Nelson faces a maximum prison sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, Fox 11 reported.

Without the special circumstance allegations, Nelson faces a sentence of at least 40 years and be eligible for parole, according to the station.

Gascon’s representative confirms that the plan is to make Nelson eligible for parole. After all, he might become rehabilitated and promise not to do it again.

If you think maniacs should be set loose to resume their violent behavior in the name of a deranged ideology that views criminals as put-upon victims, vote Democrat, so that leftists like Gascon call the tune. Then hope that what goes around doesn’t come around to you.

When charges are not pursued for a crime as a matter of official policy, it is for all intents and purposes no longer a crime. That’s how shoplifting became effectively legal in California. In this way, radical district attorneys have the power to overrule legislatures. That’s why George Soros invests so much money in them (including Gascon).

Among Gascon’s stated social engineering goals, he wants to “end mass incarceration.” He also promises to end bail completely. Ending bail for many criminals proved disastrous when inflicted by the maniacs running New York.

With progressives in charge, crime will continue to rise, as a result of liberal policies and the ideologically driven defunding of police. To reduce incarceration while increasing crime means more criminals running loose, inflicting mayhem on the law-abiding. Why liberals want this is subject to debate, but one thing we know for sure is that they do want it.

Like many leftist apparatchiks, Gascon has failed upward. He held the same position in San Francisco, which he helped reduce to the zoo it is today.

In a sane world, an attorney general would attempt to reduce the prevalence of crime, allowing the prison population to fall as a consequence. It should be obvious even to liberals ensconced in their propaganda bubble that this does not work in reverse; letting criminals go free does not reduce crime.

The LAPD is facing a proposed $150 million budget cut, which the city approved in July and which will lead to the lowest staffing level in 12 years at the department.

No worries; there is no point in arresting criminals in a place run by the bad guys anyway.

A source from the Oakland Police Department reported that Price waited an hour for authorities to arrive before she decided to file a report online.

At least the culprits might get prosecuted, in the unlikely event they are apprehended.

Price had some help in her rise to power, as a story from last August reminds us:

Alameda County district attorney Pamela Price, who took $130,000 from [George] Soros for her failed 2018 bid, secured the position for her boyfriend Antwon Cloird, the San Jose Mercury News reported Sunday. Cloird joined Price’s office as a “senior program specialist” in 2023, with a $115,502 per year salary. Price brought him onto her team without disclosing their relationship, although it is an “open secret” in the office, according to the report.

Since becoming district attorney in 2022, Price has presided over a massive crime surge in Oakland…

Crime in Oakland has been skyrocketing across the board. Business owners recently held a strike to protest rising crime and inadequate protection. Lifelong residents have been escaping. Even the Oakland NAACP is fed up:

The Black advocacy group wrote a letter that was aimed directly at Price.

‘Failed leadership, including the movement to defund the police, our District Attorney’s unwillingness to charge and prosecute people who murder and commit life-threatening serious crimes, and the proliferation of anti-police rhetoric have created a heyday for Oakland criminals,’ the letter said.

‘If there are no consequences for committing crime in Oakland, crime will continue to soar.’

That’s the point of installing tools like Price, who has pushed for less prison time even for murderers. She responded to the NAACP with disappointment that “a great African-American organization would take a false narrative on such an important matter.”

Less than 24 hours after launching, Oakland Police Department has ended the social media crime reporting program.

[Jason] Williams was walking his 78-year-old mother to his car when two suspects approached the pair, pointed a gun at them and demanded the DA’s car, according to WVUE. The suspects then jumped into the car and drove off before abandoning the vehicle in an undisclosed location and carjacking a young woman in the area 30 minutes later, the NOPD confirmed.

Sounds like a typical day in a typical diverse Democrat-run city. This increasingly ordinary event makes the news because Williams is the district attorney. He was put in office to enable the criminals who robbed him.

The DA was elected in 2020 after George Soros donated $220,000 to the Louisiana Justice and Public Safety PAC to run campaigns against Williams’ opponent, according to the Capital Research Center. Williams campaigned on a platform of social justice reform, promising to find “alternatives to incarceration” for some criminals and to reform the “ineffective and unfair money bail system,” according to his campaign website.

Before the Long March Through the Institutions got ahold of DA’s offices, their purpose was to prosecute criminals. Williams has a different objective. He proclaims that “we must root out all vestiges of white supremacy in our systems and institutions.”

Williams declined to prosecute 65% of all criminal cases in New Orleans in 2021, but slowly began to prosecute more cases as crime in the city rose, according to data from the New Orleans government’s office. The DA still continues to prosecute, on average, only 44% of the criminals who have been charged by police.

Sometimes you have to turn the gas down slightly or the frog jumps out of the pot.

New Orleans was named the “murder capital of the United States” in 2022, and violent crime was the leading cause of death for children in the city that same year. Auto thefts in the city have increased 104% since 2022, and total crime has increased 8% since the start of the year, police data showed.

Elections have consequences, especially when the results are bought and paid for by George Soros.

…comes as many Americans face an increased risk of power outages as the country increasingly relies on green energy to produce its electricity. A whopping two-thirds of North America faces an “elevated risk” of power blackouts this summer, a leading grid watchdog found in May, a vulnerability that stems from America’s increase in green power generation and decrease in fossil fuel power plants. California, for example, saw power outages in the summer of 2022 as electricity demand surged.

Portable gas generators can help those who experience a power outage keep the lights on, and nearly five million households use them. Should the Biden administration finalize its rule, however, the generators could become difficult to obtain. The commission’s rule prohibits manufacturers from stockpiling non-compliant generators prior to the rule’s enactment.

Given the conspicuous malevolence of many prominent Democrats, banning generators might be attributed to sheer malice. More likely, it is part of a strategy.

The appalling tale of James “Hannah” Tubbs has taken a turn for the still more disgusting. Readers may recall that as a reward for proclaiming himself transsexual after the crime, Tubbs was let off with a 2-year sentence in a female juvenile facility for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl (despite being 26 years old at the time of sentencing). Prosecutor Shea Sanna is not happy about the way Tubbs has exploited transsexual lunacy to avoid appropriate punishment. So now Soros-installed Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon is coming down hard — on Sanna:

Sanna, who had been the lead prosecutor for part of the case, is accused of misgendering and “deadnaming” the convicted child molester Hannah Tubbs, who is now accused of beating a man to death in the woods with a rock in Kern County.

Sanna has argued in the past that jailhouse phone calls show Tubbs, now 27, was attempting to use gender identity to game the justice system – an argument that sources say made others in Gascon’s office uncomfortable and led to the suspension.

People tend to nod along with liberal nonsense because of what happens to their careers when they don’t.

As for the criminal,

Tubbs has a lengthy criminal history in California and Idaho under the former name, James Tubbs – and allegedly began identifying as female after being arrested in connection with a 2014 child molestation case in which she [sic] pleaded guilty to attacking a 10-year-old girl in a Denny’s bathroom stall.

Note that Fox News obligingly calls Tubbs “she,” despite acknowledging that his transsexual identity is a joke he has been playing on an establishment consisting of fools. Sanna showed more character, and is now paying the price.

“It wasn’t like I was going around being transphobic or malicious — I brought it to their attention that they have a convicted child rapist trying to get himself into a juvenile facility as a woman, and he rapes little girls,” he said. “Does anybody see a problem with that?”

Not woke liberals. They can’t see past the thoughtcrimes of misgendering and deadnaming. Thought criminals must be punished.

In contrast, actual criminals are victims of injustice. They are to be pandered to obsequiously, and their pronouns respected.

Fox News Digital also learned last year that Tubbs was accused of sexually molesting a four-year-old girl at a California library in August 2013 while her mother was browsing books “just a few aisles over.”

Don’t judge Tubbs too harshly. It’s not as if he is accused of doing anything serious, like misgendering a transsexual child molester.

There is a price to be paid for well-to-do liberals placing maniacs in positions of authority. But it is not paid by the likes of George Soros, the sinister billionaire who has installed leftist DAs throughout the country (e.g., Alvin Bragg [Manhattan], George Gascon [Los Angeles], Kim Foxx [Chicago], Larry Krasner [Philadelphia], Chesa Boudin [San Francisco], Kim Gardner [St Louis]). It is paid by people like Janae Edmondson:

Miss Edmondson’s life was ruined by a criminal sociopath allowed to run loose by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, the same militant moonbat who persecuted Mark and Patricia McCloskey for daring to stand on their own front yard bearing arms to deter a mob of Black Lives Matter vermin (whom Gardner refused to prosecute) from burning down their house.

Some have had enough:

The last straw appears to be the maiming of a 16-year-old volleyball player, Janae Edmondson of Tennessee, who had been looking forward to playing Division II volleyball in college. She had one leg mangled and the other severely damaged after a man freed from jail with pending robbery charges allegedly hit her…

Edmondson was visiting St. Louis with her family for a volleyball tournament. A driver going 20 mph over the limit failed to yield and struck Edmondson in downtown St. Louis around 8:40 p.m. The victim was pinned between two cars and ultimately had both legs amputated.

21-year-old Daniel Riley was reportedly the man behind the wheel of the speeding car. …

Riley was supposed to be under house arrest while out on bond for a 2020 robbery and armed criminal action. He violated his bond at least 50 times, including seven times in February. Gardner failed to put him back in jail.

That is par for the course with Gardner and the rest of the Soros-installed prosecutors, who side with criminals against the police and law-abiding citizens for ideological reasons.

Unsurprisingly,

St. Louis’ homicide rate (per 100,000) skyrocketed from 64.5 in 2019 to 87.2 in 2020 under Gardner’s watch. According to Neighborhood Scout, St. Louis ranks 1 (with 100 being the safest) on the crime index.

Finally, Republican Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is removing Kim Gardner from power:

The AG’s office started the process of filing a petition quo warranto, which is the legal mechanism under state statute that allows the Attorney General to remove a prosecutor who neglects his or her duties. …

“This is about a quantum of evidence that demonstrates her failure to prosecute cases, failure to inform and confer with victims in cases and failure to file new cases that are referred by law enforcement agencies,” Bailey told Fox News Digital in an interview.

Chesa Boudin (the offspring of two terrorists who was raised by two other terrorists) was pried out of power in San Francisco. Gardner’s removal would be another step in the right direction. The rest need to follow.

Then we need to address the source of the problem: the morally degenerate, intellectually depraved, and viciously hostile liberal elitists who select people like Kim Gardner to oversee the destruction of the country they hate.
