Property Rights Hang on Bureaucrats’ Whims

Possibly the most appalling example of Covid tyranny occurred when a federal agency arbitrarily did what the USSR’s Red Army could not do: terminate our property rights.

From the Federal Register, dated September 4, 2020:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), located within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announces the issuance of an Order under Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act to temporarily halt residential evictions to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

With this agency order, the deed to every rental property in the United States passed from its previous owner to the federal government. The former owners are still responsible for upkeep, but are only allowed to collect rent in accordance with the vagaries of bureaucrats.

Despite recent attempts to revive it, the last of Covid hysteria is petering out. The decree above is no longer in force for the time being, even at the local level in liberal enclaves. But once the fundamental right to own property has been determined to be contingent on government whims, it will remain under relentless assault:

A group of renters in the expensive California suburb Berkeley stormed an event where landlords were celebrating the end of a COVID-era ban on evictions, plunging the event into violence and sparking a brawl that saw an elderly landlord get punched in the face.

You can’t make a socialist omelet without breaking some eggs — or faces.

The bayside city was among the last in Alameda County to abolish the protection that landlords claim was being used as cover for widespread rent avoidance.

Landlords claim? Allowing people to live on someone else’s property on an involuntary basis without paying rent is the sole purpose of an eviction moratorium.

The unemployment rate in Berkeley is 3.8 percent – on par with the national average – and the median rent is $3,800. It is known to be a wealthy enclave with a deeply academic community thanks to its eponymous college. …

Median household income in the Frisco suburb tops $97,000 according to the US Census.

Some of the useless moonbats infesting Berserkeley lived effectively as squatters, costing the rightful owners of their homes tens of thousands of dollars over the past several years.

The Berkeley Property Owners Association, naively hoping the nightmare to be over, held a celebration in a bar.

But more than 100 angry renters crashed the soiree, calling it ‘deeply cruel’.

The moonbats countered this cruelty with one of their mostly peaceful protests.

‘I went around and told our members to remain quiet, and peaceful and not engage, and they didn’t,’ BPOA President Krista Gulbransen told Berkeleyside.

The “Let’s Be Grownups” approach does not work with the woke.

Gulbransen herself was shoved to the ground as ‘multiple fights’ broke out after a group of protesters decided to enter the venue an hour into the party.

Predictably, the Berserkeley police refused to remove the moonbats, who in effect issue their orders. The mayor is Jesse Arreguin:

The self-described ‘unapologetic progressive’ previously sat on the city’s Rent Stabilization Board and has made it his mission to ‘restore Berkeley to the forefront of progressive leadership on the environment and social justice’.

“Social justice” means somebody else pays for everything.

Liberals are infamous for projecting their flaws onto their adversaries, but this is over the top; according to BPOA spokeswoman Becky Warren,

‘Their protest planning included language celebrating mass killing of landlords, celebrations by guillotine, and references to landlords as parasites.’

You read that correctly. The freeloading tapeworms regard the people whose property they demand to live on for free as “parasites.” This surreal inversion of reality accords with the twisted ideology Berkeley is infamous for.

How soon can we expect another national ban on evicting tenants who choose not to pay their rent? That all depends on who Mandy Cohen has been chatting with on the phone:

The fundamental rights that allow civilization to function took many centuries to develop. We are flushing away even the most basic (e.g., property ownership, assembly, and self-defense) by allowing people of this caliber to rule on an absolutist basis in the name of “public health.”

Court Ruling: FBI and CDC Imposed Covid Narrative

No one can say that Barack Obama didn’t leave a legacy. His community organizer tactics produced the racial strife that led to hundreds of Black Lives Matter riots and continue to have us at each other’s throats. Still more destructively, he weaponized the federal government on behalf of Democratic Party, most famously by siccing the IRS on the Tea Party. Under his idiot sidekick Biden, institutions that now serve party rather than national interests include the FBI and CDC:

The Biden administration likely infringed upon the First Amendment when it leaned on social media companies to remove false or misleading COVID-19 content, a federal court of appeals ruled Friday — narrowing a bombshell district court order that barred several officials and agencies from communicating with the platforms.

Which Covid content was false or misleading is still a matter of dispute — except for the admitted lies told by Tony Fauci. However, the Deep State wouldn’t censor Fauci, because even if he presents himself as Science Incarnate, he is actually Big Government Incarnate. That’s why liberals burn votive candles in devotion to him.

The White House, surgeon general, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FBI “likely coerced or significantly encouraged social-media platforms to moderate content” and in doing so, “likely violated the First Amendment,” the New Orleans-based Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals determined.

J. Edgar Hoover could never have imagined his agency would one day be used to censor medical information so that a virus could be exploited to inflict tyranny.

Vaccine Poetry

If Democrats maintain power after next year’s election, they are apt to inflict more Covid tyranny, including mask mandates, pressure to take experimental vaccines, and even a return to lockdowns. If Trump wins, don’t be surprised if you get the same. But look at the bright side — at least we’ll have poetry:

To coincide with the Global Vaccine Impact Conference, Gavi has commissioned spoken word artists from across the globe to compose new unique works celebrating the power of immunisation.

Prepare yourself for “My Vaccine, My Health,” by Makida El-Husseini of Ghana:

Inspiring words for Covid vax true believers:

Health is vaccination
It protects the immunity of our system
To fly away from deadly viruses and chronic diseases
that plague our growing greens to a demise
Vaccines are life

Life, that breathes into the souls of humanity’s existence
And eschew the brutality of the cold breeze of death

Vaccines have saved any number of lives. Too bad we can no longer trust them not to make us sick.

Home Covid Test

Democrats figure if they can run Biden for president again, they can run us through Covid again too. Masks, experimental vaccines, and tests will become increasingly mandatory as authorities condition us for a return to lockdowns. Fortunately, you can test for Covid without sticking a swab up your nose:

The test does not work with Bud Light, because it has no taste.

Attention liberal readers: the test works even better with gasoline. Drinking gasoline has the added advantage of helping to remove fossil fuels from the imperiled planet, thereby preventing the climate from fluctuating.

Fourteen US Cities Commit to Poverty and Tyranny

Abject poverty is bad enough when it is imposed by circumstance. Worse still is when it is inflicted by our liberal ruling class out of sheer moonbattery:

Fourteen major American cities are part of a globalist climate organization known as the “C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group,” which has an “ambitious target” by the year 2030 of “0 kg [of] meat consumption,” “0 kg [of] dairy consumption,” “3 new clothing items per person per year,” “0 private vehicles” owned, and “1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person.”

C40’s dystopian goals can be found in its “The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World” report, which was published in 2019 and reportedly reemphasized in 2023. The organization is headed and largely funded by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg.

Uncoincidentally, Bloomberg has spent many $millions attacking the Second Amendment, the main purpose of which is to defend us from tyranny.

Nearly 100 cities across the world make up the organization, and its American members include Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

Local leaders have begun imposing restrictions in pursuit of these malevolent objectives. For example, in NYC,

Eric Adams announced that the city will place caps on the amount of meat and dairy served by city institutions, such as schools and prisons.

Kooks like Adams need to pick up the pace in the race to impose poverty and tyranny in the name of the weather. Europe is pulling ahead of them:

The U.K. has banned the sale of new gas-powered vehicles after 2030, and France has banned short-haul flights “to cut carbon emissions.”

The goal is to reduce us to a Third World standard of living, while restricting fundamental liberties like freedom of movement and property rights. Though the implementation may be local, the design is globalist:

In 2020, the World Economic Forum (which promotes C40 Cities on its website) introduced “The Great Reset,” which seeks to use the Covid-19 pandemic as a point from which to launch a global reset of society to supposedly combat climate change. This reset, however, has far more to do with social control than it does with the climate. If globalist leaders truly cared about the environment, they wouldn’t be chartering private jets or owning massive, energy-consuming mansions on the coast in California, which, by climate fanatics’ own calculation, will soon be underwater.

Few could be dumb enough to take the supposed “climate crisis” at face value. Yet in the absence of resistance, the agenda continues to move forward.

To get an idea of how cartoonishly malevolent these maniacs are, consider WEF-linked “bioethicist” Dr. Matthew Liao:

Liao has proposed the idea of scientists genetically modify humans to be allergic to meat. Liao has also discussed shrinking the physical size of humans via eugenics or hormone injections so they consume fewer resources.

When they have us helpless enough, they can experiment at will.

If demanding we surrender our freedom and standard of living in the name of the weather stops getting traction, social engineers can always fall back on Covid-19. You thought that was over? Why would they let it be over?

Jeanne Marrazzo May Out-Fauci Fauci

You thought no one could be worse that the smug, grotesquely overpaid bureauweenie Anthony Fauci, the face of Covid tyranny, who lied in Senate testimony, who tried to hide the origins of Covid, and who was evidently involved in funding its development — a moonbat so insufferable that liberals literally burn votive candles featuring his likeness? Meet his replacement, Jeanne Marrazzo:

Daily Mail reports:

Marrazzo, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will start her role as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in the fall.

Regarding her qualifications, in addition to not being a man, her priorities are impeccably correct:

Her previous work has focused on contraceptives, women’s health, HIV and STDs, sexual health, and health issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, both nationally and internationally, as well as health disparities and equity and interdisciplinary collaborative research.

Naturally, she is publicly homosexual. Not being a Woman of Color makes that a requirement.

Marrazzo pushed for mask-wearing in schools during the pandemic despite warnings that face coverings would hamper their education.

The masks also hampered their health, as has been known for some time. Like many suffocating Covid measures, masks on children served no constructive purpose.

At least we learned from the miserable experience of Covid. We now know better than to take government scientists seriously. Unfortunately, our rulers learned something too: that there is virtually no limit to what we will put up with.

Post-Covid Ghost Cities

The Democrat Death Spiral has been destroying American cities. Democrat policies drive out productive citizens, resulting in a population that elects increasingly left-wing Democrats, resulting in still more insane policies in a vicious circle. Eventually, no one is left but a core Democrat constituency living like rats and cockroaches amid decaying ruins (e.g., our formerly wealthiest city, Detroit). Covid tyranny has accelerated this tragic process:

The downtown areas of San Francisco, St. Louis, Portland, Oregon, and other North American cities remain deserted months after the pandemic waned, despite many urban areas bouncing back to life, new data show.

Researchers tracked smartphone use across 63 cities and found that San Francisco, which is battling waves of crime and homeless addicts on its streets, only has 32 percent of the activity that was recorded before the pandemic.

Other cities were able to put Covid behind them when people came back to work:

Salt Lake City has bounced back strongest, with 139 percent more cell phone activity nowadays than was seen before COVID-19 arrived…

This is about more than Democrats paralyzing local economies in the name of Covid:

The research adds to fears that soft-on-crime policies in ultra-liberal cities like San Francisco and Portland have driven up rates of lawlessness and other social problems, leading to an exodus of people as part of a longer-term decline.

A healthy city can recover from setbacks like the hysterical Covid overreaction. Cities run by moonbats tend not to be healthy.

Fauci Risibly Clings to Natural Occurrence Narrative

Anthony Fauci used his power to prop up the story that Covid occurred naturally, rather than being designed in a ChiCom lab with funding that he helped provide. That narrative is crumbling, with even the Deep State admitting that Covid probably came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as we have known for years. Even as the walls close in, Science Personified still tries to spin his way out:

“A lab leak could be that someone was out in the wild, maybe looking for different types of viruses in bats, got infected, went into a lab and was being studied in the lab and then came out of the lab,” Fauci told anchor Jim Acosta.

Cue the laugh track:

“But if that’s the definition of a lab leak Jim, then that’s still a natural occurrence.”

The comparably slippery Bill Clinton told us that it all depends on what the definition of “is” is. Fauci tinkers with the definitions of “gain of function” and “lab leak.”

He also made a point of noting that no investigative agency tasked with investigating the origins of the virus by President Biden in 2021 found evidence of nefarious activity at the lab.

An incompetent, senile president who has been bought off by our Chinese communist adversaries found no nefarious activity in their bioweapons program. What a relief.

As for being held accountable for committing a federal crime by lying to Congress about his role in creating Covid, Fauci is indignant:

“I mean, prosecute me for what? What are, what are they talking about? I mean I wish I could figure out what the heck they were talking about. I think they’re just going off the deep end,” he told Acosta.

Someone as conspicuously in love with his own public image as Anthony Fauci must study every word of his own press coverage. He knows very well what he will be prosecuted for if integrity is returned to DC. But let’s have Ted Cruz explain it anyway:
