[Green Party pols] Judith Pühringer and Peter Kraus then state in the video, with well-staged emotionality, that there are “more and more tropical nights” and that the “climate war” has now been declared.

They say the first casualty of war is truth. In this case it is sanity.

Abject poverty is bad enough when it is imposed by circumstance. Worse still is when it is inflicted by our liberal ruling class out of sheer moonbattery:

Fourteen major American cities are part of a globalist climate organization known as the “C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group,” which has an “ambitious target” by the year 2030 of “0 kg [of] meat consumption,” “0 kg [of] dairy consumption,” “3 new clothing items per person per year,” “0 private vehicles” owned, and “1 short-haul return flight (less than 1500 km) every 3 years per person.”

C40’s dystopian goals can be found in its “The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World” report, which was published in 2019 and reportedly reemphasized in 2023. The organization is headed and largely funded by Democrat billionaire Michael Bloomberg.

Uncoincidentally, Bloomberg has spent many $millions attacking the Second Amendment, the main purpose of which is to defend us from tyranny.

Nearly 100 cities across the world make up the organization, and its American members include Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

Local leaders have begun imposing restrictions in pursuit of these malevolent objectives. For example, in NYC,

Eric Adams announced that the city will place caps on the amount of meat and dairy served by city institutions, such as schools and prisons.

Kooks like Adams need to pick up the pace in the race to impose poverty and tyranny in the name of the weather. Europe is pulling ahead of them:

The U.K. has banned the sale of new gas-powered vehicles after 2030, and France has banned short-haul flights “to cut carbon emissions.”

The goal is to reduce us to a Third World standard of living, while restricting fundamental liberties like freedom of movement and property rights. Though the implementation may be local, the design is globalist:

In 2020, the World Economic Forum (which promotes C40 Cities on its website) introduced “The Great Reset,” which seeks to use the Covid-19 pandemic as a point from which to launch a global reset of society to supposedly combat climate change. This reset, however, has far more to do with social control than it does with the climate. If globalist leaders truly cared about the environment, they wouldn’t be chartering private jets or owning massive, energy-consuming mansions on the coast in California, which, by climate fanatics’ own calculation, will soon be underwater.

Few could be dumb enough to take the supposed “climate crisis” at face value. Yet in the absence of resistance, the agenda continues to move forward.

In accordance with his religion (i.e., moonbattery), Manuel takes a “holistic system perspective” on water, which evidently prevents it from being used appropriately against fires.

Applying “indigenous knowledge” means addressing emergencies with the effectiveness of savages.

This is bad news for plants, which rely on the essential nutrient carbon dioxide, a normal and necessary component of our atmosphere that Democrats demonize for strategic reasons.

If there could be a more insane way to waste money even than carbon capture, it could only be climate justice:

How historic. To meet the goals of the climate agenda, the equivalent of more than 1,700 trees were felled per day.

Has this improved the weather? Of course not. Only a lunatic would expect it to.

If the trees were cleared for farmland, it would be constructive. But with leftists in charge, the environment is violated out of sheer moonbattery, with no benefit.

Meanwhile, vast reserves of oil can be found in the North Sea off Scotland’s coast.

“Renewable energy generated from wind farms is a key element in Scotland’s response to the climate emergency,” said a spokesman for the agency, which is under Gougeon’s purview.

When Big Government wants to do something particularly pernicious, it exploits an emergency. In this case, the emergency is entirely imaginary. Even if it weren’t, there is no chance Scottish windfarms will perceptibly alter the global climate.

Note that if global warming ideology were valid, cutting down the trees would make it be warmer, because trees absorb supposedly harmful CO2. Also,

“Not only are millions of [carbon-dioxide] absorbing trees being felled for turbines, hundreds of thousands of acres of ancient carbon-holding peat are being dug up too,” commented activist Lyndsey Ward.

The Inflation Exacerbation Act passed, flushing gargantuan sums of money down inefficient green energy boondoggles, but it has failed to perfect the weather because some Republicans voted against it.

“Without climate change, July’s summer heat in the U.S. Southwest would have been ‘virtually impossible,’” [for top climate scientist at the NOAA Ryan] Maue tweeted Tuesday. “I guess that’s true if you memory hole 1925, 1930s, 1950s, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2012, 2020, etc. and the rest of the almanac.”

Some of us think of the almighty climate as an angry god that inhabits the air. But this liberal deity lives everywhere, even in the ground beneath our feet — as the Washington Post reveals:

Beneath the high rises in downtown Chicago, the ground has been heating up significantly for decades. In some locations, the excessive heat is causing deformations in the land and destabilizing buildings, according to a study released Tuesday.

Scientists are calling this subsurface heating “underground climate change,” the counterpart of what people experience above ground. Except this subterranean warming is much more intense than above the surface, especially in densely built cities.

That’s because cities generate heat. Who knew?

Over the past 70 years, ground beneath the Chicago Loop in the city’s downtown has warmed by 5.6 degrees Fahrenheit on average, according to the study author.

Farther down, the article admits that the warming rate has slowed dramatically. But that’s no reason not to panic.

Climate scientist Hugo Beltrami, who was not involved in the study, was not surprised to see intense warming over the past few decades in Chicago. He said these underground temperatures have been warming mostly since the postindustrial revolution because of climate change.

Opines Beltrami, a research chair in climate dynamics at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia:

“It’s difficult to say what is coming from the … climate itself changing and what is coming from the actual activities of the city.”

I’ll go out on a limb and propose that if the ground is warmer underneath Chicago, it’s because there is a city there, not because of global warming. But support for the nonexistent climate crisis must come from wherever the media can find it.
