Parents of primary school age children have been told their kids are required to wear pride t-shirts if they want to play in an A-League half-time game.
The game is taking place during the A-League’s inaugural Pride Celebration round held between February 24-26, with a follow-up round on March 4 in New Zealand.
The marquee game of the round is between Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory at Melbourne’s AAMI Park on February 26 – when the children will take the field during the break.
Imposing this sick ideology on adults occasionally results in resistance, as when Ivan Provorov stepped forward to show some spine in the NHL. But children are more malleable. This is why LGBT advocates have made a priority of achieving hegemony in schools; as they remind each other, teaching is “an activist profession.” The resistance is up to parents.
For the past six seasons, the Rangers have hosted “Pride Night Friday” at Madison Square Garden, and that tradition continued this year. On January 27, Michael James Scott, a Broadway star who identifies as gay, performed the national anthem. Andre Thomas, the co-chair of NYC Pride and Heritage of Pride, participated in the ceremonial, pre-game puck drop. The arena, especially the jumbotron, was emblazoned in “rainbow colors,” and members of the Rangers Blue Crew, the people responsible for inciting fan engagement, still carried rainbow-colored flags.
This is what we have come to expect of the NHL, which is as obnoxiouslywoke as every other sports league…
But the players themselves did not don any gear making reference, either by word or by symbol, to sexual relationships of any kind. Instead, they wore Reverse Retro jerseys, which depict the face of the Statue of Liberty.
Not only did they refuse to wear the ribbon, they shoved the fact that this is still America into the liberal establishment’s gasping red face.
Unsurprisingly, moonbats went ballistic:
“New York Rangers … FAIL to explain why they backtrack on promise,” a Daily Mail headline howled. Mollie Walker, the New York Post beat writer for the Rangers, complained that the team took an “otherwise a beautiful celebration of inclusivity” and turned it into a “slight” against “members of the LGBTQ+ community.”
David Kilmnick, the president of the LGBT Network in Queens, called the decision “a slap in the face.”
“If the Rangers are saying they’re going to be celebrating Pride Night, everybody needs to, for lack of a better term, ‘come out’ and celebrate,” Kilmnick insisted. “To give the OK to these hockey players to be homophobic is not celebrating pride.”
“Celebrating pride” — i.e., publicly pledging allegiance to degeneracy and perversion — should not be optional, from the woke point of view.
Rangers brass had promised that players would wear the jerseys promoting homosexuality. A statement was issued in hopes of placating the howling liberal mob:
“Our organization respects the LGBTQ+ community and we are proud to bring attention to important local community organizations as part of another great Pride Night,” the statement [groveled].
However,
“In keeping with our organization’s core values, we support everyone’s individual right to respectfully express their beliefs,” it concluded.
Ivan Provorov had the guts to express his beliefs. Looks like Rangers players followed suit.
As the esteemed Ron DeSantis proved, push the PC invertebrates running the NHL and they will step back.
Only a tiny percentage of the population is sick enough to actually believe in the liberal agenda. The rest go along out of weakness and cowardice. They conform to liberalism because liberals are so pushy. So when moonbats push, push back the other way — if only by refusing to wear the ribbon.
These days professional sports are characterized by craven conformity to moonbattery. Athletes came to a fork in the road during the Black Lives Matter riots, and decided that they would rather kneel before their liberal elite paymasters by taking a knee to the lowlifes who were tearing down statues of George Washington than stand up for their country, decency, sanity, and self-respect. Even at the time, it would have taken courage to refuse to bow before leftism. Now that virtually every athlete has sold out, it takes such guts that Ivan Provorov inspires awe:
Provorov, an ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League, declined to wear the team’s LGBT warmup jersey for the Pride Night Tuesday following the team’s 5-2 home win over the Anaheim Ducks.
“I respect everybody’s choices,” Provorov told reporters, according to footage captured by Associated Press sportswriter Dan Gelston. “My choice is to stay true to myself and my religion.” He identified his faith as “Russian Orthodox.”
May God reward him.
Provorov moved from Russia to Pennsylvania at age 13. He has had plenty of time to imbibe the Kool-Aid that the rest of us are drowning in. But he stayed true.
Typical of pro sports, the Flyers hosted an elaborate extravaganza to promote homosexuality and transsexualism, which all players are expected to explicitly endorse.
[T]he Flyers hosted a “pre-game skate for local LGBTQ+ youth and officers from the Greater Philadelphia G.O.A.L. organization.” That organization advocates for “LGBTQ+ first responders and military members,” aiming to “educate first responders in LGBTQ+ competency” and “provide community outreach … between the LGBTQ+ public and first responder agencies.”
Flyers Charities presented the LGBT activist group with a $5,000 check and sold special Pride Night autographed mystery pucks for $35. The Wells Fargo Center also displayed rainbow colors during the game. The Flyers provided complimentary tickets for the game to nine LGBT groups, including the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus, the William Way LGBTQ Community Center, and the Independence Business Alliance.
Yet Provorov withheld his endorsement of degeneracy, perversion, and mental illness.
Moonbats demand total conformity. The backlash from viciously “tolerant” liberals has been ferocious. Sports media predictably wants to crucify Provorov:

It’s too late for resistance. The only thing that can save the country now is aggressive pushback. Once again, Ron DeSantis shows the way by putting the kibosh on the latest attempt by Big Sports to marginalize everyone except those lucky enough to be “marginalized.”
The NHL is planning a job fair:
The event, titled “Pathway to Hockey Summit” is scheduled for on Feb. 2 during the 2023 All Star Festivities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and seeks to help “diverse job seekers who are pursuing careers in hockey.”
According to the event description:
“Participants must be 18 years of age or older, based in the U.S., and identify as female, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and/or a person with a disability.”
In a gesture of open-mindedness, veterans would be allowed. Otherwise, the sexually normal able-bodied white guys who typify hockey’s fan base were invited to stay out. Inclusion means you are excluded, unless you belong to an identity group courted by Democrats.
However, liberal intolerance no longer flies in Florida.
DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin:
“Discrimination of any sort is not welcome in the state of Florida, and we do not abide by the woke notion that discrimination should be overlooked if applied in a politically popular manner or against a politically unpopular demographic. We are fighting all discrimination in our schools and our workplaces, and we will fight it in publicly accessible places of meeting or activity.”
Griffin called upon the woke weenies running the NHL to “immediately remove and denounce the discriminatory prohibitions it has imposed on attendance to the 2023 ‘Pathway to Hockey’ summit.”
The NHL deleted the original LinkedIn posting and now says the event is open to everyone.
Score another win for DeSantis on America’s behalf.
Scientific American cashed in its credibility to become a soapbox for leftism ages ago. With its racialization of Damar Hamlin injury, it has jumped the shark.
In a freakishly rare incident, Hamlin’s heart temporarily stopped following a normal tackle.
This ordinary violence has always riddled the sport and it affects all players. But Black players are disproportionately affected.
They make more in a year playing a game for a few months than most of us will earn in our lives. Sports fans idolize them. Many envy them. Yet we are told that because they might get injured playing football, they are enslaved:
On these playing fields, ones that sociologist Billy Hawkins would argue are never theoretically far from plantation fields, financial stakeholders value Black bodies for their productive potential and physical prowess. … In the words of sociologist and activist Harry Edwards, “like a piece of equipment, the black athlete is used.” While I am not aware of research that compares the rate of injury between Black and white football players, heatstrokes, ACL and labrum tears, ankle sprains, bone breaks, and concussions are just a few of the consequences of how these bodies are used.
Author Tracie Canada is “not aware of research,” but has plenty of unfounded opinion to compensate. Yet they call it Scientific American.
Just so that you don’t forget that achieving the dream of playing for the NFL amounts to slavery:
Further, to dismiss the almost certain breaking down of their bodies as just part of the game is a process of objectification and commodification that prioritizes the player over the person in a way that Black feminist scholar bell hooks says calls to mind “the history of slavery and the plantation economy.” The anti-Blackness of the system is inescapable.
No matter what happens, it is evidence that the world’s most conspicuously privileged minority group is actually oppressed and therefore America is bad and deserves what leftists are doing to it.
Legal Insurrection offers other recent examples of Scientific American subordinating Science to its un-American moonbat ideology:

Also, in June 2021 SciAm removed an anti-Israel op/ed from their website after criticism from other scientists, some of whom called out the magazine for “falsifying facts.”
They’ve also admittedly colluded with the mainstream media on politicizing the climate change debate.
The formerly respected publication even participates in the establishment of obesity as an oppressed identity worthy of cultural Marxist reverence:
They’ve also alleged that there is an “anti-fat” bias in the medical community primarily because some physicians dare to point out to their patients that losing weight could help them become healthier and perhaps experience fewer physical problems.
In a related piece, one author proclaimed that “you can be fat and fit at the same time.”
Not surprisingly, they’ve also gone woke on the gender identity politics front, stating that it’s “transphobic” for anyone to suggest that men who identify as women should not be allowed to play in women’s sports.
Anything moonbattery infiltrates is reduced to contemptible farce. Publications like Scientific American are no exception.

Let’s have some follow-up on Brittney Griner, a violator of Russian drug laws for whom Biden traded an infamous arms dealer likely to get Americans killed, while leaving moredeserving Americans incarcerated in Russia because Griner is a sacred Lesbian of Color.
Griner has since announced her intentions to return to the Phoenix Mercury this season after the WNBA paid her entire 2022 salary while incarcerated.
That is, the NBA will pay her salary for not playing while serving part of a prison sentence for committing a crime abroad. The WNBA does not generate enough revenue to pay for her hashish oil.
Griner’s welcome party in her collegiate town of Baylor, Texas, at a church minutes away from the campus on which she won a national championship, was only attended by 20 celebrators, according to an ESPN profile of the event.
Twenty people isn’t much of a turnout for a national hero like Brittney Griner. Maybe vast crowds wanted to attend, but they couldn’t find the town of Baylor, Texas because it doesn’t exist (although there is a Baylor County). More likely, people would have found their way to Waco (where the event was held, home of Baylor University) if they had cared to.
Like everything about the culture that is presented to us as our own by the liberal ruling class, Brittney Griner the national hero is a sham. She would not even stand for our national anthem and does not represent America.
