Collapse of Civilization on Display at Los Angeles 7-Eleven

What the Democratic Party has been achieving at the national level with looting sprees like the Inflation Aggravation Act, mobs consisting of the Democrat base apply at the local level. From a Los Angeles Police Department press release:

On August 15, 2022, around 12:40 a.m., a street takeover initiated at the intersection of Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard. Motorists flooded the intersection and blocked traffic with their vehicles from all directions to create a “pit” in the middle of the intersection. During the incident, spectators exited their vehicles and watched as motorists recklessly drove in a maneuver known as ‘doing donuts.’ …

The spectators then formed a ‘flash mob’ of looters and rushed a nearby 7-Eleven located at the northwest corner of Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard. Video surveillance from the store showed the looters fanning out across the store and grabbing all the snacks, drinks, cigarettes, lotto tickets, and other merchandise. Looters also vandalized the store and threw merchandise at employees. The looters then exited the store to the surrounding parking lots and streets, and quickly dispersed before police arrived.

This open contempt for law and order is a predictable result of the liberal establishment’s embrace of Black Lives Matter ideology and war on local law enforcement. Lawlessness has been greatly facilitated in cities like Los Angeles, where George Soros has installed an openly pro-criminal district attorney who will see to it that, in the unlikely event any looters are arrested, they will not be prosecuted.

George Gascon recently survived a recall effort because the authorities rejected over 195,000 petition signatures. Soros-appointed maniacs have subverted DA offices throughout the country (e.g., Alvin Bragg [Manhattan], Kim Foxx [Chicago], Larry Krasner [Philadelphia], Kim Gardner [St Louis], Marilyn Mosby [Baltimore]).

If police do attempt arrests, they are likely to be accused of racism. If any culprits succumb to a fentanyl overdose while resisting, officers will receive the Derek Chauvin treatment.

The leading figure in the political opposition has his home raided by FBI goons on a fishing expedition for anything that can be construed as evidence of a crime, while large mobs loot stores secure in the knowledge that they will not face consequences. The technical term for Democrat rule is “anarchotyranny.”

Marginalization of Police and Its Consequences

Liberal rule means anarchotyranny. This entails the paradox of a police state where the police have been marginalized and crime is rampant.

Mouth off at a school board meeting and you will draw the attention of federal authorities. But if you commit an actual crime, all you have to do to is run away:

Chicago police officers will no longer be allowed to chase people on foot simply because they run away or they’ve committed minor offenses, the department said Tuesday…

Cops know that when in doubt, they should let the criminal go:

The policy also makes a point of reminding officers that they or their supervisors will not be criticized or disciplined for deciding against a foot pursuit or calling one off…

Even if officers feel bureauweenies won’t punish them too severely for giving chase,

The policy includes a number of circumstances in which an officer must call off a chase, including a requirement that the pursuit must end if a third party is injured and needs immediate medical attention that can’t be provided by anyone else.

All the criminal needs to do is injure an innocent bystander. Perverse incentives are a specialty of the Democrats in charge.

Anarchotyrant Raphael Warnock Spends Big on Security

Life could get scary under a regime of leftist maniacs like Reverend Wright knockoff Raphael Warnock, who is now a Senator (D-GA). He opposes our constitutional right to bear arms, and also opposes local police. This recipe for anarchotyranny will leave us in a country where the cops are marginalized into irrelevance and only criminals have guns. The rest of us are expected to cower behind locked doors.

Not even a kook like Warnock would want to live under such conditions. He won’t have to. Our liberal ruling class can afford private security.

[Warnock] won his nail-biter senate contest by campaigning in part on a message of gun control and “defund the police.” He called law enforcement “gangsters, thugs, bullies and a threat to children.” He demeaned law-abiding gun owners from his own pulpit.

But it turns out Rev. Warnock doesn’t practice what he preaches. He’s a true believer in the power of armed security. New records show he paid nearly $137,000 for private security for protection.

The French Revolution — which entailed not just regime change but the overthrow of an entire degenerate ruling class — makes more sense with each passing day.

How Progressives Ruin Cities

A formal name for the political ideology marketed as “progressivism” is “anarchotyranny.” California progressives will force children to take a vaccine even if they don’t need it, their parents oppose it, and the long-term consequences are unknown. But they won’t prevent mobs of scumbags from looting stores. Progressives use the “anarcho” aspect of anarchotyranny to destroy cities that fall under their control.

Liberal Mecca San Francisco is a case in point. Libertarian John Stossel and (former) liberal Michael Shellenberger are appalled at what anarchy has reduced it to, as excessive regulation makes the city unaffordable to productive citizens:

Illegal Aliens Fly With Arrest Warrants as ID

Illegal aliens tend not to have valid ID, but that doesn’t clip their wings. To board a flight, they can just present their arrest warrants as identification:

Responding to Republican Texas Rep. Lance Gooden’s Dec. 15 inquiry about illegal migrants flying across the country, TSA Administrator David Pekoske explained that certain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents may be considered acceptable forms of alternate identification for non-citizens, including a “Warrant for Arrest of Alien” and a “Warrant of Removal/Deportation.”

This form of ID has the advantage of preventing them from turning up on terrorist watch lists, since they don’t have to use their real names.

Gooden earlier told the [Daily Caller News Foundation] that he was told by a border patrol officer that “they often have to take migrants at their word that they are who they say they are” when issuing DHS documents accepted by TSA as alternate forms of identification.

Meanwhile, law-abiding citizens are stripped naked by the TSA and dragged off flights if their toddlers won’t keep their pointless Covid muzzles on properly. As Daniel Greenfield observes,

That’s the paradox of our modern lawless society which is beset with laws, but in which the lawless population of homeless, criminals, and illegals who are part of the Dem client base, can steal, attack, and do whatever they want without having to follow any of the laws.

Leftism has corroded the framework of civilization for decades. In California, the entire edifice has begun to collapse.

This incident is emblematic of what could be expected to follow after the establishment-endorsed mostly peaceful Black Lives Matter rioting and looting:

Shocking video captured a woman strolling casually into a Rite Aid in Los Angeles wielding a pickaxe and stealing merchandise while spewing a stream of obscenities.

Every day is Christmas in California — until all the shelves are bare.

The woman, dressed all in black, was seen walking in the Venice Beach store on Lincoln Boulevard about 3 p.m. on Wednesday with the garden tool slung over her right shoulder and pulling a shopping cart behind her.

Unless they prosecute her for armed robbery — which is doubtful in George Gascon’s Los Angeles — this was just a misdemeanor, meaning it would not be worth the police’s trouble to arrest her even if she were to turn herself in.

At this point, society exists so that people like that can loot it. The welfare state has succeeded so well, it is hardly needed anymore. The class it produced can do the looting personally.

Flying Restrictions Tight for Us, Loose for Illegal Aliens

The Democrat system of government is anarchotyranny. Even as Big Government steadily tightens its grip like a python, squeezing the life out of us, the lawless underclass that it uses open borders and the welfare state to cultivate has ever more license to do as it pleases.

Traveling by air offers a preview of what life will be like as authoritarianism worsens. For example,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is shortening the testing window all international air travelers have to take a pre-departure coronavirus test from three days to one.

This applies even to the vaccinated.

U.S. airlines have been asked to collect contact-tracing information for inbound international travelers and send it to the CDC “upon request” since Nov. 8, when the country adopted a new set of international travel restrictions.

The information collected includes names, addresses, phone numbers, emails and dates of birth.

Welcome to East Germany. Bad as it is, Democrats want to make it worse:

[T]hree dozen lawmakers are pushing the federal government to require proof of full vaccination or a negative coronavirus test to board domestic flights.

Lawmakers said the additional travel restrictions would “ensure Americans can travel safely to see their loved ones during the holidays while also limiting household introduction and spread of COVID-19 from visiting family and friends,” according to a letter sent to President Joe Biden.

The signees include authoritarian moonbats like Dianne Feinstein, Eric Swalwell, Steve Cohen, and Jerrold Nadler.

As restrictions on the law-abiding tighten, the illegal aliens imported to displace us don’t even have to present ID.

Instead of being ejected from the country, illegal aliens usually receive a Notice to Appear in immigration court at some point in the distant future. These are routinely ignored. At last, a use has been found for Notices to Appear. The TSA allows illegal aliens to use them in lieu of identification.

Never mind Covid and other serious diseases; consider what this means for the risk of terrorism. Plenty of the Other Than Mexicans pouring over the Mexican border are from Islamic countries.

Rep Lance Gooden (R-TX) is aghast:

“When I asked a border patrol officer about TSA allowing migrants to fly with no identification, they told me a Notice to Appear is not sufficient identification and they often have to take migrants at their word that they are who they say they are,” Gooden said. “TSA and non-profit groups are putting millions of Americans travelling for Christmas at risk by allowing these unknown and unvetted migrants to board planes and fly across the country.”

Democrats say it is oppression if you have to show ID to vote. Why wouldn’t it be oppression to be asked for ID to be dispersed throughout the country for demographic engineering purposes? Naturally, oppression applies only to the “oppressed” — i.e., groups favored by our liberal rulers.
