From the viewpoint of our ruling class, only those who voted for Joe Biden are trustworthy Americans. Those who voted for Trump must be regarded with suspicion. Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN) frets that 75% of the massive army that has been brought into Washington as a show of force probably voted for Trump, since they are mostly white males, a group that the Democrat Party aggressively discriminates against. That means they might turn their guns on Biden at the inauguration.

People who rule us with this extreme of paranoid hate are not likely to rule benevolently. Cohen chairs the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties. The fox is in charge of the henhouse.

The Blaze quotes Cohen:

“You know, I was thinking, the [National] Guard is 90 some odd percent I believe male, only about 20% of white males voted for Biden. You got to figure that in the Guard which is predominately more conservative — and I see that on my social media and we know it — there’s probably not more than 25% of the people that are there protecting us who voted for [President-elect Joe Biden]. The other 75% are in the class that would be the large class of folks who might want to do something.”

This was too much even for CNN.

When [Jim] Sciutto cut in to push back at Cohen’s suggestion that simply having voted for President Trump should make someone a threat, the Democratic lawmaker dug his heels in.

“You draw circles of people, and in the first circle is people who were for Trump and not for Biden as far as people who would be within the zone of folks who you would be suspect of, and the suspect group is large,” he said.

No worries, Cohen. The FBI is investigating. Via AP:

U.S. defense officials say they are worried about an insider attack or other threat from service members involved in securing President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, prompting the FBI to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops coming into Washington for the event.

After Big Government and Big Tech complete their merger, the FBI will have the capacity to efficiently vet every citizen on an ongoing basis, so that potential threats can be identified and deactivated.

[T]he threats against Biden’s inauguration have been fueled by supporters of President Donald Trump, far-right militants, white supremacists and other radical groups.

That makes for a lot of suspects, considering that over 74 million voted for Trump, and that a “white supremacist” is anyone liberals want to destroy.

De-radicalization is the process of giving up your belief in an extreme idea. It’s also accepting pluralism – allowing for a reality in which we can all hold different beliefs and recognizing that we shouldn’t impose our beliefs on others. Extreme ideologies usually maintain that other versions of reality aren’t acceptable.

If only the mainstream media would accept pluralism, people might trust it again, and not be driven off into the fever swamps looking for an alternative to homogenous left-liberal spin.

Speaking of imposing beliefs on others, the Future of the Democratic Party wants the federal government involved in deradicalization — i.e., in controlling your opinions. From the New York Post:

The federal government needs to fund the de-programming of white supremacists and conspiracy theorists, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Friday night.

You don’t have to be slow to kneel to Black Lives Matter to qualify as a “white supremacist.” This label is now applied to anyone liberals don’t like. The maniacs of the Capitol Riot were white supremacists, not because they were in any way motivated by race, but because Democrats don’t like them. Even Ben Shapiro, an orthodox Jew who vigorously denounces racism at every opportunity and who is the #1 enemy of the Alt Right, has been characterized as a white supremacist.

As for “conspiracy theorists,” these can range from people who believe that Trump won in a landslide to those who would just like to see some of the sloppiness cleaned up so that the voting system will be less prone to fraud going forward.

Ocasio-Cortez said the House subcommittee on civil rights she serves on has held hearings over the prior two years on white supremacy and said there are programs to “de-radicalize” brain-washed adherents.

To get an idea of what “civil rights” will mean under single party Democrat rule, consider that rabidly anti-Caucasian racist Kristen Clarke is Biden’s choice to run the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department.

“There are people who are radicalized right now. It’s going to take a very long time to de-radicalize these people and a lot of effort,” [AOC] said.

AOC, a Democratic Socialist who was put in office by the Justice Democrats, is among the most radical members of Congress. Letting radicals determine who gets deradicalized is the equivalent of putting the lunatics in charge of who gets lobotomized at the mental asylum.

Revoking college degrees is gaining steam as a new means for liberals to demonstrate their tolerance. As mentioned earlier, Middlebury College is revoking an honorary degree from Rudy Giuliani, and an NYU sociology professor wants Princeton to revoke Ted Cruz’s bachelor’s degree. Now Harvard students — tomorrow’s ruling elite — demand that the degrees of the POTUS’s staff and supporters be revoked.

Bark the Harvard moonbats:

“Is Harvard University prepared to take a stand for representative democracy and against violent white supremacy?”

“Violent white supremacy” means anything leftists don’t like. “Representative democracy” apparently means single-party Democrat rule, all opposition having been marginalized.

Countermoonbats whose Harvard degrees they specifically demand be revoked include Rep Dan Crenshaw, Senator Ted Cruz, and White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

Why not just cut to the chase and revoke all degrees of all Republicans?

It represents a failure of the admissions process that anyone likely to turn out Republican is accepted in the first place. No doubt academia is working hard to correct this shortcoming.

Middlebury College, a liberal arts institution in Vermont, is rescinding Rudy Giuliani’s honorary degree, which they awarded him in 2005.

The college accuses Giuliani of involvement “in fomenting the violent uprising” at the Capitol last week, on the grounds that he spoke at the rally that preceded the riot. Needless to say, moonbats who spoke to liberal mobs prior to Black Lives Matter riots don’t have to worry about losing honorary degrees.

Ted Cruz may stand to lose a degree he actually earned:

New York University Assistant Professor of Sociology Alex Barnard called on Princeton University to rescind Sen. Ted Cruz’s Bachelor’s degree in response to the Texas Republican objecting to the certification of Arizona’s electoral college votes. …

Barnard wrote that Cruz supported such a measure “not because that makes any sense whatsoever, but because Cruz’s whole political program is symbolic acts of spite.”

How better to express your disdain for symbolic acts of spite than with a symbolic act of spite?

When Muslims conquered Christian lands like Egypt and Syria, they forced the locals to live as dhimmis — second class citizens — until they finally relented and converted to Islam so that they would not be systematically discriminated against and abused. It took centuries, but it worked. Christians constitute small minorities in the Middle East now. Liberals have not even completely taken over the federal government yet, and already they are applying a similar policy to eradicate resistance to their ideology.

The riot would have been described as mostly peaceful had the rioters been leftists.

Having the wrong political affiliation as well as an irreverent attitude toward masks was already apparently enough to get a woman kicked off an American Airlines flight on Tuesday.

The liberal establishment has only just begun to exploit yesterday’s riot as a pretext to crack down on dissent. The hundreds of Black Lives Matter riots that this same liberal establishment enthusiastically aided and abetted are conveniently forgotten.

“Who are Mitch McConnell’s neighbors? I’m just saying Rand Paul’s neighbor did what a true Kentucky hero should do. It’s your turn to step up.”

McConnell’s fellow Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was blind-sided by his maniacal moonbat neighbor Rene Boucher, who broke six of his ribs. Paul had to have part of his lung removed.

Robinson blamed objections to his call for violence on racism. That magic word will be used to cover all manner of abuse in the bleak future beginning to unfold.

Liberal journalist Kurt Eichenwald has won awards too. His violent rhetoric targets people who have not embraced mask-wearing. Snarls Eichenwald,

“I wish them & their loved ones all the pain & misery they inflicted on this country.”

In another tweet, Eichenwald proclaimed that he wants to “find an antimasker and beat them to death.” He equates failing to wear a mask that may or may not do any good with reckless homicide, and reasons that “it is hard not to contemplate violence against those who don’t care if they kill.”

Simply going to a party is enough to provoke a burst of Eichenwald’s holiday cheer:

“If youre [sic] willing to risk infecting people to attend a New Year’s Eve party, I hope it’s you who gets COVID, suffers, and & dies alone.”

This vindictive and often explicitly violent attitude seems to permeate the Left lately. Their notion of “unity” will not be pleasant.

A so-called renaming committee in San Francisco is erasing the name the 16th president of the United States from a school because Abraham Lincoln lived a life “stained by racism.”

“Uprooting the problematic names and symbols that currently clutter buildings, streets, throughout the city is a worthy endeavor,” Jeremiah Jeffries, chairman of the committee and a first grade teacher in that California city, said. “Only good can come from the public being reflective and intentional about the power of our words, names and rhetoric within our public institutions.”

It goes without saying that only good can come of any act of extremism motivated by devotion to political correctness.

Honest Abe isn’t the only historical figure to face erasure. Dozens of school sites have been targeted for renaming. The San Francisco Chronical agrees that the author of the Declaration of Independence deserves it, but maybe not some of the other ones:

When the committee released the 44 school sites to be renamed, many made sense. Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe were slave owners, and Vasco Nunez Balboa was a murderous conquistador.

At least a few names on the list raised eyebrows, including … Dianne Feinstein, who landed on the list because as mayor in the 1980s, she replaced a vandalized Confederate flag in front of City Hall.

If Senator Feinstein tries that sort of open-mindedness in New York, she might be arrested.

Labor leader Cesar Chavez somehow managed to escape the list, despite being opposed to illegal immigration for the obvious reason that it drives down wages.

As for Lincoln, maybe he freed the slaves, but he also served at a time when the US government defended settlers from marauding Indians:

Lincoln’s administration supported the Homestead Act of 1862 and transcontinental railroad, which led to the loss of Indigenous peoples’ land.

This implies that anyone who contributed to the growth of America is a sinner against political correctness. By this reasoning, simply being American makes you worthy of being erased. Possibly an exception could be made for Americans who live their whole lives without making a positive contribution to society — liberal journalists, for example.

Here is Lincoln’s most specific sin:

Lincoln, whose grandfather was killed by a Native American, oversaw the hanging of 38 indigenous warriors after a Santee Sioux uprising in Minnesota, but only after he personally reviewed the legal cases against the 303 men sentenced to death. He saved the lives of 265 Indigenous men.

Not good enough. He should have saved all of them if he didn’t want to get canceled.

Forgotten are the women and children raped and murdered by Indians during the Santee Sioux uprising. White people deserve the worst for being racist.

Rigidly intolerant moonbats infest the publishing industry. Penguin Random House Canada is in hot water with its own employees for planning to publish the new book Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life by the soft-spoken, moderate conservative Jordan Peterson.

“[Peterson] is an icon of hate speech and transphobia and the fact that he’s an icon of white supremacy, regardless of the content of his book, I’m not proud to work for a company that publishes him,” [barked] a junior employee who is a member of the LGBTQ community…

The content of the book does not matter, because Peterson has been canceled for past crimes against liberal dogma. Prominent among them, Peterson has refused to refer to cross-dressing men with feminine pronouns and to pretend there is such a thing as “white privilege.” He has failed to embrace demasculinization. Worst of all, he promotes personal responsibility, which is anathema to liberals.

Another employee said “people were crying in the meeting about how Jordan Peterson has affected their lives.” They said one co-worker discussed how Peterson had radicalized their father and another talked about how publishing the book will negatively affect their non-binary friend.

For moonbats, tears are weapons.

“The company since June has been doing all these anti-racist and allyship things and them publishing Peterson’s book completely goes against this. It just makes all of their previous efforts seem completely performative,” the employee added.

It is not enough to publish leftist propaganda by the shipload. Publishers must produce nothing other than leftist propaganda. Otherwise, snowflakes will weep menacingly.

A third employee told VICE World News the company’s diversity and inclusion committee received at least 70 anonymous messages about Peterson’s book, and only a couple are in favour of the decision to publish it.

Previous generations produced the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition. Now we have diversity and inclusion committees.

If you defend them in any way, you too are a thought criminal. The lynch mob will then come for you, just as it has come for John Cleese after he signed a letter of support for Rowling.

Encouragingly, Cleese has pushed back against the bullying:

“Deep down, I want to be a Cambodian police woman. Is that allowed, or am I being unrealistic?” he replied to someone who asked why he couldn’t “just let people be who they want to be.”

More defiance:

“I’m afraid I’m not that interested in trans folks,” he admitted when pressed to “be upfront” about his views on Rowling’s controversy.

That must have evoked a chorus of horrified gasps from moonbats.

“I just hope they’re happy and that people treat them kindly,” he wrote.

Not good enough. You are not allowed to be a nice guy who wishes transsexuals well and leave it at that. You are required to worship them, and to endorse all aspects of their agenda: men playing women’s sports, boys in the girls’ locker room, little kids getting “transitioned” into trophy transexuals by their woke parents, the works.

He later complained that critics showed a “complete lack of perspective” as well as a “complete lack of a sense of humor,” asking, “Heard a woke joke yet?”

The Twitter mob does not permit such insolence. Denunciations of Cleese as “transphobic” trended on the moonbat-friendly platform.

“Damn. Really wasn’t expecting someone as talented and amazing as John Cleese to be anti-trans,” author Adam Tierney wrote with a sad-face emoji.

“Dude … John Cleese being Transphobic was not something I saw coming and I am thoroughly disappointed by it,” one follower wrote…

These woke vigilantes were so surprised by Cleese displaying a sense of humor rather than obsequious submission, you would think they had been suddenly confronted by the Spanish Inquisition.

He does not tolerate dissent among students.

KUSI obtained an email Krahn sent to all staff at the school:

Krahn’s email reads, “We … had a student wear a MAGA Hat today. I have talked with that student who now understands why that hat is offensive to our community. He will not wear it again. In addition his mom said that she is embarrassed by his actions. She will fulfill her role as a parent. We will continue to grow as a community that sees and values the dignity of all people.”

Seeing and valuing the dignity of all people consists of ruthlessly persecuting anyone who opposes Team Democrat.

According to the school’s 2020-2021 Parent/Student Handbook, there is no rule against political attire in the school’s dress code.

Stated rules are irrelevant. For tyranny to be effective, crime and punishment must be defined on an ad hoc basis. Only those in constant fear of committing a thought crime can be counted on to police themselves with sufficient rigor.

It is worth noting that La Jolla County Day is one of the most prestigious private schools in San Diego County. They have students from first grade through High School, with yearly tuition ranging from $16,650 all the way up to $37,130 for High School.

For that kind of money, liberal elite parents expect a learning environment completely free of deviant thought.

Today’s totalitarians don’t rule primarily through brute force. Particularly with children, it works just as well to fill people’s heads with lies, turn them against their own beliefs, and manipulate them through neurotic guilt. A surprisingly effective tactic is to equate anything you want suppressed with racism, then piously denounce racism. Krahn explains how it is done:

Opposition will not be tolerated, because it offends the tender sensibilities of the allegedly oppressed. At least it was less nauseating when they said, opposition will not be tolerated, shut up or we will blow your brains out.

Respondents surreally yet characteristically equated conservatives with Nazis. Trials for Trump supporters should be modeled on the Nuremberg trials. The irony of authoritarians calling people who believe in limited government “Nazis” escapes them; if they had any self-awareness, they would be shamed into discarding an ideology that accentuates their most appalling characteristics.
