It doesn’t take a degree in economics to grasp that if something scarce and valuable is provided for free, there will be long waits for it. But there is a cure for the long wait times implicit in socialized medicine.

Great Britain, infamous for socializing the healthcare system instead of rebuilding its economy after World War II, illustrates the problem:

Kathrin Mentler, 37, lives with chronic depression and suicidality, both of which she says were exacerbated by a traumatic event early this year. Feeling particularly vulnerable in June, she went to Vancouver General Hospital looking for psychiatric help in dealing with feelings of hopelessness she feared she couldn’t shake.

Instead, Ms. Mentler says a clinician told her there would be long waits to see a psychiatrist and that the health care system is “broken.” That was followed by a jarring question: “Have you considered MAID?”

MAID (medical assistance in dying) is a euphemism for execution as healthcare. If abortion is healthcare, so is MAID.

Canadian authorities have presented MAID as a solution for anorexia, PTSD, being poor, and needing a wheelchair lift (not for regretting sex change surgery though).

Inevitably, it will be applied to solve the problems most concerning to those in charge, namely, racism, homophobia, transphobia, Eurocentrism, et cetera.

Several information pages on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website appear to endorse ‘chestfeeding’ — a term used to describe feeding an infant milk directly from the breast by trans and non-binary parents.

The reference is to the psychotic concept of breastfeeding men. If it is too disgusting to be out of a horror movie, it must be from the federal government.

Men cannot breastfeed babies, even if the sick kooks in charge proclaim them to be women. However,

Biological men who transition to women can produce breastmilk by taking several hormone drugs that mimic the changes a woman’s body undergoes during the late stages of pregnancy and shortly after the birth of a child.

Among these drugs is domperidone, which can pass into breast milk and which the FDA advises breastfeeding women not to use to increase milk production because of what it calls “serious adverse effects.” But apparently the CDC doesn’t mind if men use it for the same purpose.

As with the experimental vaccine our government imposed, the long-term health consequences of feeding babies male pseudomilk are unknown.

Dr Jane Orient is executive director of the refreshingly nonliberal Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. As she notes,

“The CDC has a responsibility to talk about the health risks, but they have been derelict in doing that.”

The CDC is not concerned with health risks. It has an agenda to promote.

Trans women [i.e., men] can make themselves lactate by taking a combination of medicines called the Newman-Goldfarb protocol. …

The method uses a combination of the contraceptive pill to boost the hormone estrogen, physical stimulation through a breast pump and domperidone medication to mimic the hormonal changes of pregnancy and birth. …

Domperidone, an anti-nausea drug, is the preferred option for the protocol as it has a lower rate of potentially dangerous side effects, like heart palpations, muscle contractions and depression, than alternatives.

It is fitting that the proper purpose of domperidone is to suppress nausea. Nausea is the natural, healthy reaction to all things LGBT. Social engineers have worked overtime to artificially suppress this nausea.

Healthcare is too important to allow the Democrat apparatchiks administering the CDC to have anything to do with it.

Anything pertaining to white men is bad, per the prevailing ideology — even a tool that promotes health by helping people maintain a healthy weight, although obesity is a contributing factor to a long list of diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea, metabolic syndrome, fatty liver disease, osteoarthritis, gallbladder diseases, kidney disease, pregnancy complications, and cancer.

The AMA Council on Science and Public Health said: ‘Our AMA recognizes: the issues with using body mass index (BMI) as a measurement because: (a) of the eugenics behind the history of BMI, (b) of the use of BMI for racist exclusion, and (c) BMI cutoffs are based on the imagined ideal Caucasian and does not consider a person’s gender or ethnicity.’

When a healthcare professional starts barking about “racist exclusion,” find the door and get out of there.

Rejecting BMI on largely ideological grounds is not the AMA’s worst crime against public health. It supports the horrific practice of sex change surgery:

On June 12, the American Medical Association House of Delegates passed the Endocrine Society’s resolution to “protect access to evidence-based gender-affirming care for transgender and gender-diverse individuals.”

So much for “First, do no harm.” Cutting off lunatics’ genitals because they imagine themselves to be members of the opposite sex is comparable to cutting off their feet to make them shorter if they think they are Napoleon.

“In the resolution, the AMA committed to opposing any criminal and legal penalties against patients seeking gender-affirming care, family members or guardians who support them in seeking medical care, and health care facilities and clinicians who provide gender-affirming care,” the AMA proclaimed. “The AMA will work at the federal and state level with legislators and regulators to oppose such policies and collaborate with other organizations to educate the Federation of State Medical Boards about the importance of gender-affirming care.”

The AMA has a high BMI to throw around:

At least it is willing to pump the brakes on sex change surgery for children:

The AMA claimed that “medical intervention is reserved for older adolescents and adults.” The American Medical Association noted, “Major medical organizations also agree on waiting until an individual has turned 18 or reached the age of majority in their country to undergo gender-affirming genital surgery.”

Chris Christie won’t be pleased, although he may be happy about nixing BMI.

Locally, in Yuma, Arizona, executives with the Yuma Regional Medical Center said that in just one year, taxpayers were left with $26 million in unpaid medical bills from illegal aliens who showed up to the hospital requesting free care. …

[T]he Federation for American Immigration Reform reported that illegal immigration costs the nation’s hospital systems at least $23 billion annually — $8.2 billion of which is uncompensated medical care for illegal aliens.

If something cannot go on forever, it will stop. Under Democrat rule, this won’t stop until hospitals start going under, having been forced to absorb some of the massive cost.

Privately, Democrats will regard bankrupt hospitals as not a bug but a feature. They will help in the next incremental push toward direct federal control over who gets medical treatment. You probably do not belong to a group that will be prioritized.

In the meantime, “free” taxpayer-financed healthcare for undocumented Democrats via the emergency room provides de facto socialized medicine.

To convince children of such obvious lies, you have to start early:

Roth said gender ideology must be adopted by parents “at birth or even before,” and proceeded to criticize the colors pink and blue for putting “expectations” on a baby.

Liberal parents will not acquire a transsexual trophy child unless they get the project started early.

Despite gender ideology having been invented only within the past few years,

Roth went on to claim that babies can develop their gender identity as young as 18 months old.

This will require what progressives call “nudging”:

The evaluation shows that the LZA/LP Scheme is not yet functioning properly. Doctors feel reluctance to perform late termination of pregnancy or termination of life in newborns.

Somehow I doubt spending $241,000,000 of other people’s money to discriminate against Caucasians will result in a cure for cancer.

Under the terms of the grants, only candidates who demonstrate “a strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusive excellence” can be hired through the program. To apply, candidates must submit a diversity statement.

That is, they must swear allegiance to cultural Marxism. As Daniel Greenfield puts it, the “express goal is to get candidates to disavow any notions of neutrality or equality, and to commit to viewing everything through the leftist lens of identity politics.”

Healthcare spending needs to be divested from the federal government — for the sake of our national health.

Formerly, medical schools took pride in their students’ aptitude. Now they take pride in the students not being white. This does not bode well for the future quality of healthcare.

Going forward, each incoming MD class will have the opportunity to create its own oath.

This is important, because what is politically correct one year can fall behind into thoughtcrime the next as we rush at an ever-accelerating speed toward absolute moonbattery.

The loaded buzzwords “oppression” “equity,” and “liberate” signify that medicine is not about medicine anymore. Like everything else that has fallen to the Long March Through the Institutions, it is about leftism.
