Evidently bail reform did not subject law-abiding citizens to a sufficiently stratospheric level of preventable violence, so Kathy Hochul and the rest of New York’s liberal rulers will now inflict the Clean Slate Act:

Hochul is expected to sign the Clean Slate Act on Thursday, which will automatically seal records after three years for anyone who committed a misdemeanor and after eight years for anyone who committed a felony (except Class A felonies) and is not a registered sex offender.

If you killed someone and accepted a plea deal or were convicted of manslaughter, you get a “clean slate.”

If you committed a rape alongside armed robbery and the rape wasn’t prosecuted to spare the victim (it especially happens with child victims), you get a “clean slate.”

A few people actually benefit from liberal rule — like Kim Crawford:

Crawford beat her 5-year-old because he broke the TV and then watched him suffer and die slowly for five days instead of getting him help so she did not get in trouble.

She got a manslaughter plea deal.

Each truck made by Mack cost more than $523,000 and was part of a long-term goal under the NYC Clean Fleet Transition Plan to move toward a majority of “clean” energy versions by 2035, with emergency and specialized trucks totally converted to electric vehicles by 2040.

It’s a small price to pay so that liberals can virtue signal about how devoutly they believe in Al Gorism — so long as taxpayers pick up the tab. However, no amount of other people’s money can create EVs that plow snow:

“In our test of the non-diesel rear-loaders, we found that they could not plow the snow effectively,” Commissioner of the New York Department of Sanitation Jessica Tish said during a City Council hearing in November 2022, per the New York Sun.

As for using the extravagantly expensive electric trucks to collect the garbage that NYC produces in such profusion,

The tests indicate sanitation trucks will likely not fully electrify by 2040, like the department hoped, as the electric trucks do not perform well in cold temperatures. Snow plowing specific trucks aside, multiple studies have found that electric cars require extra care during the winter season and have lower fuel efficiency at colder temperatures than petrol and diesel vehicles.

Even the depraved kooks infesting New York understand you can’t rely on electric vehicles — not that they won’t make them mandatory anyway, if only to prove they can impose their moronic ideology on every aspect of your life.

Cost? Let’s not worry about cost. A federal bailout for NYC is only a matter of time. Then Biden can just print the money.

If illegals were provided accommodations characterized by rats and mold, shrieks of rage from the media would displace any coverage of the chaos at the open border.

At least there is recourse. New Yorkers can improve their lot by throwing their IDs in the river and proclaiming themselves to have snuck into the country illegally.

It was unclear Monday if the fat hotel contract is part of the estimated total $12 billion that Mayor Eric Adams has said the migrant crisis could cost the city over three years — absent additional financial aid from Washington and Albany.

Forget Albany; not even leftists like Kathy Hochul can wring this kind of money out of taxpayers, many of whom have been escaping New York anyway. The federal government will step in. It doesn’t have the money either, being over $33 TRILLION in debt, largely thanks to Biden. But it can print more. The New York Times indicated that over 100,000 illegal aliens have stormed the city, overwhelming services intended for down and out American citizens. Having had its 200 shelters maxed out, the city has been dumping illegal aliens into humanitarian centers, converted hotels, school gymnasiums, and religious buildings, as well as imploring citizens to do what Adams is unwilling to do himself: bring the unwelcome guests into their homes.

The downfall of New York features wealth transfers to migrants invaders and to profiteers who have exploited the situation:

New York City taxpayers, some of the most tax-burdened in the nation, are seeing a massive transfer of wealth as they foot the bill for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to help carry out Mayor Eric Adams’ migrant hotels scheme. …

The cost represents a small fraction of the $12 billion wealth transfer from New Yorkers to border crossers and illegal aliens, as well as NGOs and the city’s powerful hotel industry.
