In our time, widespread rioting to advance political objectives is a tactic used exclusively by leftists. Decent people hate rioters. Therefore, the word riot must be struck from the Newspeak Dictionary per the Associated Press.

The Blaze reports:

The Associated Press Stylebook tweeted an admonishment to stop using the word “riot” to describe political protests and instead use the milder “unrest” to avoid stigmatizing protesters. …

“Focusing on rioting and property destruction rather than underlying grievance has been used in the past to stigmatize broad swaths of people protesting against lynching, police brutality or for racial justice, going back to the urban uprisings of the 1960s,” the AP Stylebook explained.

Moonbats all read from the same set of talking points. As we were recently gaslit by Harvard lecturer Joan Donovan, Black Lives Matter and Antifa brownshirts burning down your neighborhood are the equivalent of Martin Luther King rallies. The countless crimes committed don’t matter, because the end justifies the means.

The end is racial justice. In the case of Black Lives Matter, this means a Marxist society controlled by a black ruling class. In the case of Antifa, it just means hurting people and breaking things.

AP may have a point here:

“Revolt and uprising both suggest a broader political dimension or civil upheavals, a sustained period of protests or unrest against powerful groups or governing systems.”

Since the objective entails destroying the American system and way of life, maybe the word “riot” understates how malevolent the riots really are. Acknowledging that the riots constitute a revolt — i.e., an attempted revolution — opens the door to appropriately punishing the funders and organizers of the riots for sedition or even treason. Aiders and abettors like Kamala Harris might also face consequences.

But where do you stop? If you are going to press sedition charges against everyone who has aided and abetted the devastating riots, that could mean imprisoning the entire liberal establishment — including the propagandists running Associated Press.

Among her qualifications to teach graduate level classes, we know from her profile picture that Joan Donovan is a cool person, because she poses wearing a leather jacket. Those who can’t come up with the money or who can’t get accepted to Harvard due to race quotas can receive education from Donovan for free by reading an essay she published at MIT Technology Review. It begins like this:

When Kyle Rittenhouse shot and murdered protesters in Kenosha…

Stop right there. We saw the video. It is highly unlikely that Rittenhouse murdered anyone. He fired on rioters from whom he had tried to escape. To call him a murderer and his sociopathic assailants “protesters” grotesquely distorts what happened.

From there the piece plunges headlong into a sophomoric alternate reality.

George Floyd was murdered, according to Donovan’s overwrought and irresponsible rhetoric. In reality, he probably died of a fentanyl overdose. The implication that he was deliberately killed by police in front of any number of witnesses is absurd.

The shooting of Michael Brown, which even Eric Holder’s ultra-left Justice Department had to admit was justifiable self-defense, is likewise characterized as “merciless and vicious” behavior by the police.

The violence Black Lives Matter and Antifa hooligans have inflicted throughout the country is astoundingly blamed on those who tell the public about it, thereby encouraging “white vigilantes [to] feel justified in menacing and physically attacking racial justice protesters.”

She castigates Fox News and One America for reporting on the Black Lives Matter violence, surreally accusing them of “flipping the script to suggest that Black protesters—demonstrating because they fear police violence—are themselves a threat to white people.” The capitalization of “Black” versus “white” is repeated throughout, to underscore who deserves respect and who does not.

We are asked to believe that the leftist rioters who have caused $2 billion in property damage, who have destroyed countless businesses, and have killed dozens of people are the victims.

The villains of the story are people like Andy Ngo, who risks his life to bring back video of what the liberal establishment media would prefer we didn’t see. Antifa brownshirts have attempted to silence Ngo with physical attacks, even causing a brain injury. Donavan denounces Ngo’s courageous journalism as “riot porn.”

Then she denounces Mark and Patricia McCloskey for taking a “bizarre stand” by not passively allowing a violent mob to burn their house down and for being “the product of riot porn.”

The entire piece consists of malevolent and obvious lies, like the gaslighting on CNN but targeted at an even more gullible audience. For example,

Several cities and towns have become treacherous terrain, where militias, MAGA groups, and conspiracists are carrying out their civil war fantasies by attacking Black Lives Matter protesters as police look on. The optics are reminiscent of the Freedom Rides in the 1960s, when police turned away as local white vigilantes attacked civil rights advocates.

That’s what Harvard charges the big bucks for. It trains students to believe lies so outlandish and repugnant that no normal person could swallow them. Choking down these lies is the price of admission to the liberal elite.

Teenage totalitarian David Hogg — who squeezed national fame out of the Parkland massacre — opposes violence with extreme self-righteousness. But only if it is committed by his fellow white people.

At first it seemed that young Master Hogg was slowly starting to grow up. Via Daily Wire:

Hogg, a co-founder of the gun control advocacy group March For Our Lives, called for a “nonviolent political revolution” and said that movements pushed through “violence and hate” are counterproductive. His comments came after a summer of Black Lives Matter protests that spawned hundreds of riots across major American cities.

Hogg hates violence so much, he even squeaked that “The use of violence to acquire political power is deeply rooted in imperialism, capitalism and white supremacy.”

Since it is black supremacy that has been advanced through violence throughout the country for the past several months, his comments resulted in predictable pushback from other leftists. Hogg’s response was also predictable.

Hogg later clarified that his comments are only directed at “young white people” who have used the protests and riots as “cover” to loot, vandalize, and destroy stores and attack others. He said that “BIPOC” — an acronym standing for black, indigenous, and people of color — are exempt from his statement condemning violence. He apparently made the correction after a number of his followers criticized him for not separating violent acts committed by white and non-white people.

Mewls Hogg compliantly,

“Let me be clear what I am NOT trying to do is tell BIPOC people how they should react to violence directed at them by the state. It’s not my place or any white persons to direct or criticize the way BIPOC people choose to defend themselves against this violence from the state.”

“Violence from the state” presumably refers to police using force against criminals who resist arrest, or returning fire when they are fired upon as in the case of Breonna Taylor.

Far be it from any liberal Caucasian to disapprove of sacred BIPOCs rioting, looting, burning down neighborhoods, killing people, et cetera. He issued a groveling apology for being “offensive” by having implied otherwise.

Hogg’s political purpose is to personify hostility to gun rights. But the point of attacking the Second Amendment is not to reduce violence. It is to disarm regular law-abiding Americans, thereby facilitating violence against them.

Finally, some good news regarding Black Lives Matter. Not all of the $zillions that corporations, celebrities, and left-leaning fools have donated to this conspicuously pernicious cause goes to facilitating riots or to the Democratic Party. Some of it flows relatively harmlessly into graft.

The FBI has arrested the founder of a Black Lives Matter group in Atlanta on fraud and money laundering charges.

Sir Maejor Page, 32, was accused Friday of misappropriating $200,000 in donations he solicited through Facebook on behalf of Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta, Fox 5 Atlanta reported Friday.

The name is as fake as the ideology. His real name is Tyree Conyers-Page.

Page founded Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta in 2016 and this year took in more than $466,000 in donations in June, July and August…

The FBI in Toledo said Page pledged to use those donations “for George Floyd” but instead used the money make purchases related to food, dining, entertainment, clothing, furniture, a home security system, tailored suits and accessories.

He also bought himself a house in Toledo.

In Page’s defense, George Floyd doesn’t need the money anyway. He has his golden casket, what else can he use?

Fox 5 reported in 2016 that Page became a familiar face at Black Lives Matter marches in Atlanta to protest fatal police shootings.

He was part of a group of Black activists who met with then-Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed to demand changes in police training and tactics.

If criminals want police tactics changed, those tactics are probably good the way they are.

Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta is not to be mistaken for Page’s previous outfit, Black Lives Matter of Atlanta, and is apparently not recognized as a national chapter by the national organization. But then, anybody can start up a Facebook page, participate in some riots, and validly claim to be part of the wider movement. It follows the al Qaeda decentralization pattern that has worked so well for other terrorists.

There will be plenty more Black Lives Matter arrests if it occurs to authorities that not only fraud but also rioting and insurrection are against the law.

Unlike Black Lives Matter rioters, Trump supporters do not make a habit of unlawfully blocking traffic. However, that does not make them safe from BLM terrorists attempting vehicular homicide.

A woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder for driving her car through a crowd of President Donald Trump supporters on Saturday. Two people were hit by the vehicle and suffered “major injuries.”

These include a man getting both legs broken.

There were dueling protests in Yorba Linda, California, on Saturday afternoon between Black Lives Matter supporters and a pro-Trump crowd. There was also reportedly a demonstration by “Caravan for Justice,” a Black Lives Matter-inspired social justice group…

The maniac has been identified as Tatiana Turner, who filed a trademark application for Caravan4Justice and who is the beneficiary of a “Fundraising for Caravan4Justice” GoFundMe campaign.

At around 3 p.m., a white car drove into a crowd of Trump supporters who were gathered at the parking lot of the Yorba Linda Public Library. Shocking video shows the vehicle smashing through people who were waving American flags and wearing pro-Trump paraphernalia.

Comparably shocking is the way Fox11 Los Angeles misreported the event. The headline:

The first paragraph reinforces the false impression that Black Lives Matter was the victim rather than the aggressor:

A 40-year-old Long Beach woman was arrested after police say she drove her car into a crowd of people attending a Black Lives Matter protest in Yorba Linda.

The story does not make clear that Turner is on the BLM side, although it does allow that the guy with the broken legs “might have been a counter-protestor.”

To the extent that there are still decent people supporting Black Lives Matter, it is a testament to the liberal media’s ability to mislead.

De facto presidential candidate Kamala Harris says she is proud of Jacob Blake. This reflects alarmingly on her character, because Blake’s character is not in dispute. At the time he was shot while violently resisting arrest, Blake was wanted for felony domestic abuse. Now it appears he was in the process of kidnapping a child:

Police Officer Rusten Sheskey has told investigators that it wasn’t just his life he was defending when he fired his weapon seven times at Jacob Blake last month in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He said he used deadly force during the chaotic encounter because he was afraid Blake, while attempting to flee the scene, was trying to kidnap a child in the backseat of the vehicle.

“He’s got my kid. He’s got my keys,” Sheskey heard a woman say, according to attorney Brendan Matthews, who is representing the officer. If Sheskey had allowed Blake to drive away and something happened to the child “the question would have been ‘why didn’t you do something?'” Matthews said.

Officer Sheskey would have been in no position to do anything but bleed if he had not shot Blake.

At the time Sheskey opened fire, the lawyer said, Blake held a knife in his hand and twisted his body toward the officer.

This has been corroborated.

Matthews said a second officer at the scene, whom he also represents, provided investigators with a similar account of Blake turning toward Sheskey with a knife in his hand immediately prior to the shooting. That officer said he too would have opened fire but did not have a clear angle, according to the lawyer.

Authorities have said Blake had a knife in his possession and the weapon was found on the floorboard of the vehicle.

It was crazy enough to expect Sheskey to just stand there and let this vicious criminal gut him like a fish. Crazier still, he was supposed to let himself die to facilitate an apparent kidnapping.

To take crazy to the ultimate extreme, Kenosha was partially burned down to protest the “racism” of Sheskey not letting Blake kill him. Kamala Harris evidently approves of this.

As morally depraved as Harris, the liberal establishment continues to deify Jacob Blake. NFL players wear his name on their helmets. Tim Pool is right to be disgusted:

That means any aspect of our heritage that predates current times can be abolished on grounds of lack of inclusion. For example, since 1954, the Memorial Union at the University of Rhode Island has featured a special mural …

When veterans returned from World War II and enrolled at URI, they and other community members raised money in memory of those who lost their lives in the war.

Money raised was for a modern student union, which gave it the name, “Memorial Union.”

For almost 70 years, a prominent feature of Memorial Union has been a mural painted by decorated veteran and member of the class of 1950 Art Sherman, depicting “servicemen returning to Kingston, a class reunion, URI commencement, a South County beach scene, and students piled into a jalopy wearing letter sweaters.”

URI had fewer than 2,000 students at the time. They were mostly white. Consequently, the figures in the mural are mostly white.

So the mural must come down.

Barks Kathy Collins, Vice President of Student Affairs:

“I have received complaints about the murals that portray a very homogeneous population predominately the persons painted and depicted on the wall are predominantly white and that does not represent who our institution is today.”

Cultural vandals screeched that “they didn’t feel comfortable sitting in that space” because the mural features too many white people.

To intimidate those who might resist their heritage being erased, Collins brandishes the Black Lives Matter cudgel:

“I think we have to recognize the horrible incidents and the tragic murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and most recently Jacob Blake in Kenosha Wisconsin during this is heightened time and we as an institution have to look at the systems in place across this institution that maybe are not representing who we are today and representing the true diversity of URI today,” said Collins.

None of those people was murdered. Floyd apparently died of a fentanyl overdose while resisting arrest. Taylor was accidently hit in the crossfire after her boyfriend initiated a gunfight with police. Blake, who was shot in self-defense as he went for a knife, isn’t even dead.

However, facts don’t matter. Those who fail to cower before the narrative are subject to cancelation, just like the mural.

Woke bullies have no mercy. They will extirpate every trace of American culture. A very different culture has already begun to take its place.

The incident below occurred last night in Los Angeles, the same town where Reginald Denny was dragged out of his truck by similar savages and had his head bashed in with a cinderblock during the Rodney King riots. This time the pretext for rioting was Breonna Taylor:

Anyone surprised to see the story end with the innocent victim getting handcuffed by police? Meanwhile, the odds of consequences for the criminals are minimal, which is why they behave this way.

Driving a politically correct Prius didn’t do the driver much good. His bumper might have been covered in Defund the Police and COEXIST stickers; it would not have mattered.

As noted at Big League Politics, this is hardly the first time the “mostly peaceful protesters” have attacked a motorist:

Violent BLM and ANTIFA rioters have shot up to six people for driving through highways and roads they attempt to block off.

The United States is succumbing to savagery. It is turning into Somalia. Attempting to placate the bullies by validating their bogus ideology with duckspeak about racial injustice has only encouraged them to push the envelope ever further.

Next time, we may see the motorist dragged out of his car and beaten to death, as easily might have happened here if he hadn’t managed to escape. That is America’s future if we do not stand up to the mob and its backers, namely the liberal establishment media and the Democratic Party.

When the media and corporate America praise Black Lives Matter, they praise the shooting of two police officers in Louisville yesterday in reaction to authorities’ refusal to immolate three other officers to the BLM cause (the indictment of one officer failed to placate the mob). The media and corporate America praise this:

A shocking video from Wednesday night’s riots in Seattle shows a man dressed in all black violently smash a police officer in the back of the head with a metal baseball bat.

More terrorist violence:

The Seattle Police Department also noted that an individual threw an explosive at law enforcement officers at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday night. The incendiary device “exploded near waiting bike officers.”

It wasn’t the only explosive thrown at officers last night.

Hear that crack? If the officer hadn’t been wearing a helmet, that would have been his skull.

Lest a leftist mob burn down Louisville, Officer Brett Hankison has been indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree. His crime was to return fire after Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker had shot a fellow officer. Taylor was accidently killed in the incident.

Hankison is not the only victim of moonbattery in this heavily exploited case. Taxpayers are on the hook for a $12 million jackpot justice payout to Breonna Taylor’s relatives.

Yet still the mob is not satisfied. It will never be satisfied, so long as people yield to it.

Black Lives Matter types have taken to the streets for the predictable show of force. Presumably they want Hankison charged with murder, as well as the other officers involved, Myles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly.

Mattingly required surgery after he was shot in the leg during the firefight. A letter he wrote to his fellow officers should be read by everyone:

Mattingly writes, “It’s sad how the good guys are demonized, and criminals are canonized.” It’s not only sad but terrifying, if you consider where it will lead.

A civilization can only stand for as long as the people comprising it have the character to hold it up. We don’t need to have as much character as cops who face gunfire to keep us safe. But we must have enough to side with them against mobs. Otherwise, we will soon find ourselves ruled by criminals.

In the meantime, we get to live in a country where criminals know that the police may be imprisoned if they return gunfire.

Regular Americans have had enough of the often obscene leftist graffiti that covers monuments, walls, and windows thanks to sociopathic Black Lives Matter/Antifa hooligans. In some cities, the graffiti is even painted on the streets at public expense. Thankfully, there has been some pushback.

From New York City, where the crime-facilitating, police-defunding hard left mayor personally took part in painting a giant “BLACK LIVES MATTER” mural on Fifth Avenue:

Bucking widely held notions about municipal inefficiency, workers from the city Department of Transportation descended on the display less than 24 hours later — around 10 p.m. Saturday — to cover up the message with black…

The incident is under investigation. Police will not be highly motivated to find the culprits. Reportedly, they stood around laughing while the mural was created.

Meanwhile, up the coast in Massachusetts:

As in NYC, all-cap yellow letters were used to mimic the Black Lives Matter murals that municipal moonbats like de Blasio and DC’s Muriel Bowser have painted on streets to highlight their support for rioters versus the police and property owners.

It’s nice to see that there is resistance to “the Resistance.”

There is follow-up on the case of Greg Patton, the USC Marshall School of Business professor who was placed in purgatory after using the Chinese term “nèi ge,” which militant crybullies say sounds like the forbidden n-word. Patton used the word in order to be inclusive of international students.

At last word, educrats have admitted to no error for their treatment of Patton. The dean denounced him; he remains under suspension, and it is unclear whether he will ever be reinstated. Even the Atlantic is appalled at the injustice, and his fellow faculty are scared that they might be next to get frog-marched to the guillotine through no fault of their own.

Recent grads are also alarmed:

Ninety-four recent graduates of the MBA program, purporting to represent “more than a dozen nationalities and ethnicities,” wrote that “a few of us, but many of our parents, lived through mainland China’s Cultural Revolution. This current incident, and Marshall’s response so far, seem disturbingly similar to prevalent behavior in China at that time—spurious accusations against innocent people, which escalated into institutional insanity.”

The insanity began when Patton promptly apologized to the crybullies for accidently providing them with a pretext to be offended. Saying “I’m sorry” to the belligerently oppressed puts the smell of blood in the water.

The offended students went into lynch mob mode, shrieking that their “mental health has been affected” by the “unwelcome environment” created by Patton having said a Chinese word that has nothing to do with race. They wrote,

“In light of the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and the recent and continued collective protests and social awakening across the nation, we cannot let this stand.”

That is, they demanded Patton be offered up to them as a sacrifice or else. After hundreds upon hundreds of Black Lives Matter riots, everyone knows what “or else” means.

The climate of terror that these thugs have been allowed to create has had a predictable effect on the erstwhile open marketplace of ideas:

Last Monday, the faculty council at the business school discussed the results of an anonymous survey on the Patton incident that 105 faculty members answered. According to a transcript I obtained, a member of the council described “an overwhelming sense of vulnerability, worry, insecurity, fear and anxiety” among faculty who worry that they could be “cancelled” anytime due to a misunderstanding. The faculty feel “anger, disappointment, betrayal, and outrage” at Patton’s treatment. … [F]aculty members mentioned that “given the atmosphere of fear and perceived lack of support, they think it is too risky for them to continue discussing certain topics with students. This includes topics related to diversity and inclusion, but it also includes such topics as politics and international relations.”

The crisis is hardly limited to USC:

[A]dministrators all over the country are bending over backward to appease umbrage-taking students in the name of inclusion, and more than a few academics have found themselves under serious investigation for flimsy reasons. “Academics write to me with great frequency to share their anxieties,” my colleague John McWhorter, a Columbia professor, wrote earlier this month. “In a three-week period early this summer, I counted some 150 of these messages. And what they reveal is a very rational culture of fear among those who dissent, even slightly, with the tenets of the woke left.”

A mob of bullies not bright enough to belong in college now dictates what can and cannot be said in academia. What happens in the Ivory Tower today will happen to the rest of us soon absent pushback.
