Alberta’s United Conservative government has invoked its controversial Sovereignty Act for the first time by introducing a resolution to push back against the federal government’s proposed Clean Electricity Regulations.

The resolution calls for ignoring insane federal energy mandates to the extent law allows.

The Clean Electricity Regulations, currently in draft form, lay out the rules for getting Canada’s electricity grid to net zero emissions by 2035.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says the deadline is impossible for the province to meet without risking blackouts and high costs for consumers.

If pushback continues, Trudeau may fall back upon the Emergencies Act to impose martial law, as he did when there was resistance to his Covid tyranny.

At least Covid actually existed. The climate crisis that supposedly necessitates depriving Canadians of reliable and affordable energy is an imaginary contrivance.

Expect similar conflict on the US side of the border — unless Americans are content to go without electricity for the sake of liberal ideology.

The Deadspin piece features a picture of the little boy we are supposed to hate in profile, so as to trick readers into thinking he was wearing blackface. Actually, one side was black, the other red, apparently to signify that he is a Chiefs fan; that’s why he was wearing the headdress.

The Associated Press captioned … a picture documenting Hunka’s presence, describing Hunka as having “fought with the First Ukrainian Division in World War II before later immigrating to Canada.” The Galicia division was rechristened in 1945 with a Ukrainian name in order to avoid connecting it to the Waffen-SS.

Johnson said he wants to open city-owned grocery stores to serve neighborhoods that have become “food deserts” after four Walmart stores and a Whole Foods closed.

At least the government stores might get a police presence to protect them from the mobs of shoplifters who created the “food deserts.” Then again, with explicitly pro-criminal Johnson in charge, they probably won’t.

According to the Chicago Police Department, thefts are up 25% to-date year over year. Robberies are up 11%.

That’s what Chicagoans voted for. The city has entered the terminal stage of the Democrat Death Spiral and will soon resemble Detroit and Mogadishu

To get an idea of how well the government grocery stores will be stocked, visit the USSR. No wait, that collapsed. Visit Venezuela. An expansion of the criteria for medically assisted death that comes into force in March 2024 will allow Canadians like Pauli, whose sole underlying condition is mental illness, to choose medically assisted death.

Canada legalized assisted death in 2016 for people with terminal illness and expanded it in 2021 to people with incurable, but not terminal, conditions.

Before long, Canada will execute people for having dandruff. Only if they agree to it, of course.

They’ll even do it to children:

[Canada’s Justice Minister, David] Lametti said the federal government is considering recommendations from a parliamentary committee to allow … “mature minors” – people under 18 deemed capable of making this decision – to access assisted death.

Canada’s government has offered death as a cure for PTSD, as a solution to poverty, and as an alternative to getting a wheelchair lift. Taxpayers provide a suicide hotline that instead of talking the desperate out of suicide, talks them into it.

Once you reject the value of human life, the slope gets slippery, as a California bill to allow abortion up to 28 days after birth confirms.

As leftism inevitably degrades the Canadian economy, those with chronic conditions will become an unsustainable burden on the socialized healthcare system. Increasing pressure will be applied for the sake of managing costs.

But don’t worry, there will always be a distinction between assisted suicide and execution. Progressives oppose capital punishment, so it was abolished in Canada.

In liberal utopia, Big Government won’t kill anyone who hasn’t been persuaded to ask for it. If they can persuade people to vote for Justin Trudeau, this should be child’s play.

Trudeau takes a strong position against them:

“Far-right political actors are trying to outdo themselves with the types of cruelty and isolation they can inflict on these already vulnerable people,” the prime minister said last Thursday as he targeted Higgs’ new policy.

In the grotesque inversion of reality that is the liberal narrative, children who have been bullied into transsexualism are victims not of their groomers, but of those who try to protect them, including their parents.

“Right now, trans kids in New Brunswick are being told they don’t have the right to be their true selves, that they need to ask permission. Well, trans kids need to feel safe, not targeted by politicians.”

Children have been targeted by leftist politicians like Trudeau for transsexualization through government schools. The bizarre objective is to get them to reject their true selves and pretend to be members of the opposite sex. Those who want children to be safe from this psychological abuse are portrayed as threats to their safety.

Trudeau objects to parents being told when their own child is undergoing transsexualization and is being treated as a member of the opposite sex at school, placing the kid on track for an unhealthy and unhappy life. Wanting parents to be aware of what is being done to their children is “far right.”

True enough, from where liberals like Trudeau stand, decency and sanity are far to the right.

Rueda is responsible for the country’s adoption of the Transgender Labor Quota Act, which reserved 1% of public sector jobs in Argentina for transgender people, according to a State Department press release.

Thanks to Rueda, diversity hires that otherwise would have gone to women will go instead to men pretending to be women. For this, he is honored for having served women. Because all things liberal are upside down, backward, and mind-warpingly preposterous.

The sort of libs who place LGBT rainbows, mask and vax symbols, and of course the Ukrainian flag next to their Twitter handle are delighted to see this guy handed an award by Edith Wilson wannabe and noted brain surgeon “Dr” Jill Biden:

At first glance, it is hard to see what is so controversial about Jordan Peterson. He is a soft-spoken psychologist who provides common sense self-help advice to young men. His political views are not extreme. However, his refusal to recite “2 + 2 = 5” on orders from the thought police got him kicked off Twitter under its previous ownership. Now, he has been sentenced to reeducation camp for criticizing Canada’s leftist government:

The College of Psychologists of Ontario ordered the best-selling author and Daily Wire+ host to undergo “social media communications retraining” or face a hearing on the potential suspension of his license.

Characteristically,

Peterson vowed not to participate in the process and decried the effort to stifle free speech.

That’s the attitude that got him in trouble in the first place.

Peterson wrote an open letter to Canada’s squishy soft pretty boy despot, Justin Trudeau:

“I simply cannot resign myself to the fact that in my lifetime I am required to resort to a public letter to the leader of my country to point out that political criticism has now become such a crime in Canada that if professionals dare engage in such activity, government-appointed commissars will threaten their livelihood and present them with the spectacle of denouncement and political disgrace,” Peterson wrote. “There is simply and utterly no excuse whatsoever for such a state of affairs in a free country.”

By “free country,” he must mean “soft tyranny.” When soft inevitably transitions to hard, people like Peterson will end up in gulags or face firing squads instead of having their licenses suspended.

His crimes:

Peterson’s latest alleged transgressions include retweeting Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre’s criticism of Trudeau, blasting Trudeau’s former senior aide, Gerald Butts, and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, tweeting opposition to a plan by Ottawa police to take custody of the children of the Trucker Convoy protesters, and telling Joe Rogan’s podcast audience that acceptance of radical gender theory is a sign of “civilizations collapsing” and that climate change models are unreliable.

Past crimes include pointing out that plus-sized swimsuit model Yumi Nu on the cover of Sports Illustrated for purposes of political correctness is “not beautiful” and that “no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that.”

Styxhexenhammer666 observes that Canada’s thought police are applying a policy employed by repressive regimes like Saddam Hussein’s by trying to force him to pay for the bullet used to execute him. Specifically, he is supposed to pay for his ChiCom-style struggle session:

Regarding Peterson’s crime and punishment, this hits the mark:

“The whole point is to be as arbitrary and as opaque as possible so that they can always nail you.”

Retired Canadian Army Corporal Christine Gauthier has been trying to get Veterans Affairs Canada to help her install a wheelchair lift in her home since 2017. A VAC caseworker suggested solving the problem through euthanasia:

After years of frustrating delays in getting the home lift, Gauthier says the caseworker told her: ‘Madam, if you are really so desperate, we can give you medical assistance in dying now.’

This isn’t the first time a Canadian vet has been offered suicide as a healthcare option. Whether they ever fought a foreign enemy comprising a more direct threat to Canadians than their own government is doubtful.

The scandal emerged a week after Canada’s veterans affairs minister confirmed that at least four other veterans were similarly offered access to Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) law in response to their troubles…

Gauthier was injured in an Army training accident in 1989, suffering permanent damage to her knees and her spine.

She has made the best of her situation, competing in paralympic games. However, some might decide that her life is not worth living.

Starting next year, those deemed to be suffering from mental illness will also qualify for MAID. No one that mentally ill would be competent to make such a decision. However, Canada has plenty of bureaucrats to nudge them in the correct direction — or just make the decision for them.

No word on whether Justin Trudeau considers opposition to his Covid tyranny to indicate mental illness.

There are already signs the system is failing some Canadians, with reports of people receiving approval for assisted suicides for diabetes or homelessness.

Assisted suicide solves all sorts of problems. Some would call it the Final Solution.

Bill C-7 would allow individuals seeking MAID to apply solely on the basis of a mental disorder. Prior to the bill’s passage, MAID eligibility was based on having a “grievous and irremediable medical condition,” according to a report from the Canadian government on the practice.

Likewise, the Third Reich’s preferred treatment for those with debilitating mental problems was the final solution.

The mentally ill aren’t the only problematic people who can be nudged out of existence:

Creighton School of Medicine professor Charles Camosy said Wednesday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” the bill would allow “mature minors” to be euthanized by state doctors without the consent of their parents.

If you would surgically disfigure children on behalf of the LGBT agenda, you probably won’t have moral qualms about killing them outright.

Camosy argued that the MAID practice exists for several groups already.

“We’ve got the homeless, we talked about that last time. The poor. The disabled. Those with chronic pain. And then right before coming on, I researched the physicians group in Quebec that wants to kill newborn infants. That’s what’s coming next,” he told host Tucker Carlson.

Some of the critters manage to slip past the abortionist. Can’t have that. They could go on to emit carbon for decades, which would be offensive to the climate.

The medical humanities professor said health care has been “hyper-secularized” in recent years and is based on “cost-benefit analysis.”

Combine socialized medicine with the marginalization of Christian values and you get extermination as “healthcare.”

Already, a Canadian vet seeking treatment for PTSD and a traumatic brain injury was offered assisted suicide by Veterans Affairs Canada.

The Canadian government and provincial authorities pledged about $320 million to fund more research and in December pledged another $40 billion involving First Nations child-welfare claim settlements that partially compensate some residential school attendees. Pope Francis issued a formal apology on behalf of the Catholic church, which ran many of the residential school facilities and asked for God’s forgiveness.

Francis should pray for Catholics to forgive him for reflexively siding against the Church he is supposed to represent.

Ground-penetrating radar has supposedly revealed another 800 buried children. But well over a year since the supposed mass grave was revealed, no actual bodies have been found. It appears to be nothing more than an old septic system.
