Moonbats hate Mother’s Day for the reason they hate all our holidays: it is an expression of a culture they are trying to destroy. Mother’s Day is even more unwoke than the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving, because it directly conflicts with the antifamily agenda. Also, it undermines LGBT dogma, according to which there is no such thing as mothers, only “birthing people” — who might be men. Above all, motherhood is wholesome, so it must be defiled and destroyed in accordance with left-wing aesthetics.

As we are reminded every Thanksgiving and Columbus Day, woke liberals regard the Europeans who settled the Americas to be evil, and the Stone Age societies they supplanted to be vastly superior to anything the hated white man has ever had to offer. To what extent would they actually reduce us to the level of savagery epitomized by societies like the Aztecs, who performed human sacrifice on an industrial scale to placate wicked gods? Schoolchildren may begin to find out soon, if the California Department of Education votes next week to approve the statewide Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum.

Developed by Marxist theoretician Paolo Freire, the curriculum is loaded with the critical theory jargon we have come to expect of academia, dense with terms like “racist,” “discriminatory,” “imperialist,” “colonial,” “white supremacy,” “oppression,” “counterhegemony,” “indigenous epistemic and cultural futurity,” et cetera, ad nauseam. The idea is to use public schools to impose a “pedagogy of the oppressed” so that instead of learning, children can achieve “critical consciousness.”

Despite the meaningless rhetoric and obfuscating BS, the point is clear. The hostility toward Western Civilization could not be more explicit or more comprehensive.

Prominent among the many things progressive educators hate about Western Civilization is Christianity. Ideally, it would be replaced by the primitive cults of “indigenous” societies.

This religious concept is fleshed out in the model curriculum’s official “ethnic studies community chant.” The curriculum recommends that teachers lead their students in a series of indigenous songs, chants, and affirmations, including the “In Lak Ech Affirmation,” which appeals directly to the Aztec gods. Students first clap and chant to the god Tezkatlipoka—whom the Aztecs traditionally worshipped with human sacrifice and cannibalism—asking him for the power to be “warriors” for “social justice.” Next, the students chant to the gods Quetzalcoatl, Huitzilopochtli, and Xipe Totek, seeking “healing epistemologies” and “a revolutionary spirit.” Huitzilopochtli, in particular, is the Aztec deity of war and inspired hundreds of thousands of human sacrifices during Aztec rule. Finally, the chant comes to a climax with a request for “liberation, transformation, [and] decolonization,” after which students shout “Panche beh! Panche beh!” in pursuit of ultimate “critical consciousness.”

The chants have a clear implication: the displacement of the Christian god, which is said to be an extension of white supremacist oppression, and the restoration of the indigenous gods to their rightful place in the social justice cosmology.

Not so long ago, this would have made a good concept for a campy direct-to-video horror movie. But these people are on the level, and they control American schools.

What about the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause?

Public schools are prohibited from leading state-sanctioned Christian prayers; they would presumably be similarly prohibited from leading state-sanctioned chants to the Aztec god of human sacrifice.

However, the Constitution is a construct of heterosexual white male oppressors. It does not apply in the realm of Social Justice.

Biden’s handlers have nominated a fellow named Rachel Levine for Assistant Secretary of Health in the Department of Health and Human Services. Levine is best known for pulling his own mother out of a nursing home so that she wouldn’t be killed by the policy he was implementing of forcing the homes to accept COVID-positive patients — the same policy that led to the ongoing downfall of Andrew Cuomo. There is another compelling reason to oppose Levine’s nomination:

Levine has advocated for sex changes for pre-pubertal people, otherwise known as “children.”

A professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the Penn State College of Medicine, Levine has given lectures in various settings since at least 2012 on how to perform sex changes and gender conversion therapy on children.

According to Levine, children ought to be given the latitude to choose their own gender. Levine has advised adults to “try not to force them one way or other [sic]” and instead to follow the child’s lead.

Kids too young to decide on their own bedtime are given the responsibility to determine whether they want to undergo transmogrification into a facsimile of the opposite sex. The decision will be based on an unwholesome fad whipped up by the media that could have devastating lifelong consequences.

Levine has described children as young as five or six as “knowing” which gender they wanted to be.

Levine recommends giving sexually disoriented children puberty blockers as they reach adolescence, deliberately preventing their normal physical development. Then come cross-gender hormone injections. These are followed by surgery, which Levine avers can be inflicted on the subject prior to age 18 in some cases.

Levine has expressed doubts about the “controversial” requirement in some standards of medical ethics that patients receive psychological evaluations before undergoing such drastic medical regimens.

You can see why a guy who shows up for work dressed like Corporal Klinger would have an aversion to psychological evaluations.

Levine’s tyrannical impulses and poor judgment make him a good fit for the Biden Administration. He has ordered 2-year-olds to wear masks in public, has suspended alcohol sales in bars and restaurants the night before Thanksgiving, and has urged the public to take up sexting and pornography.

Not long ago, Levine’s nomination would have been regarded as a tasteless joke. We will learn during the confirmation whether any senators have the nerve to question it and risk being denounced by the media as “transphobic.”

L.A. City Council agreed to slash the [LAPD]’s budget by $150 million. L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti first announced the idea after BLM-LA led a massive demonstration outside of his residence on June 2.

Intimidation works in the sort of country this is becoming. At least it does on people who are sympathetic to the intimidators.

The L.A. Board of Education quickly followed suit, reducing the L.A. School Police Department’s budget by 35%, which equated to a $25 million cut. BLM-LA had spent more than five years organizing students, parents, and teachers against the district’s police force, which is tasked with protecting more than 600,000 students enrolled in the nation’s second-largest public education system.

BLM also went after the LA County Sheriff’s Department, with the ballot proposal Measure J:

Its passage requires at least 10% of the county’s general fund be appropriated to community programs and alternatives to incarceration, but Sheriff Alex Villanueva and police unions said it would defund public safety. LASD operates the nation’s largest jail system.

Leftists have already managed to largely empty neighboring Orange County Sheriff’s Department jails onto the streets.

Despite Garcetti’s willingness to cave to outrageous demands by BLM terrorists, BLM-LA’s lead community organizer Melina Abdullah claims that her organization blocked him from a Biden cabinet position. If so, this may be the first good thing ever to come of Black Lives Matter.

She also noted a series of Black LA Demands related to the COVID-19 pandemic as another important achievement from 2020, along with the formation of BLM Grassroots, which was established to aid local chapters’ organizational needs.

Alarmingly, BLM racists aren’t the only ones to racialize the coronavirus response.

Lastly, Abdullah recognized BLM-LA’s annual Black Xmas campaign, which asks allies to refrain from spending money with white corporations from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.

Christmas is the season for hating white people. Racial animosity hasn’t been this explicit since they closed down Auschwitz. Yet it is those brave enough to oppose Black Lives Matter who get whacked with the “RACIST!” club.

Someone painted it to look like a jack-o-lantern for Halloween. Then someone gave it a pilgrim hat for Thanksgiving. Militant moonbats took umbrage at the pilgrim hat.

The devoutly PC Daily Northwestern reports:

Nikki McDaid-Morgan, a Ph.D. candidate from the Shoshone-Bannock Nation, said the Pilgrim Rock “wasn’t acceptable,” leading her and other Indigenous graduate students to take action.

McDaid-Morgan, who sneeringly refers to Thanksgiving as “Thankstaking,” despises the unwokedness of her fellow Northwesterners:

The Rock painted as a Pilgrim, McDaid-Morgan said, showed that some are upholding a pro-Pilgrim narrative that harms Indigenous people and obscures the real history behind Thanksgiving.

Americans are supposed to cower in guilty shame and hate their heritage, not uphold pro-Pilgrim narratives like a bunch of thought criminals.

McDaid-Morgan and a group of fellow vandals went on the warpath, not only splashing the pilgrim hat with red paint but painting radical slogans all over a nearby wall.

Then the unthinkable happened. There was pushback — light-hearted humorous pushback, but pushback all the same.

On the morning of Thanksgiving, which many Indigenous people observe as the National Day of Mourning, McDaid-Morgan and others found their messages had been painted over.

Within 24 hours after they had painted “BLM” on The Rock in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, the words had been changed to “BLT Sandwich.” “Natives Only” was changed to “Olives Only” and “Native Land” was changed to “Nativity.”

Outraged that anyone would dare talk back, moonbats are in full crybully mode:

Northwestern Graduate Workers put out a statement calling the incident “hostile” and “heartless,” noting that it occured [sic] on the National Day of Mourning and during National Native American Heritage Month.

“These messages pose a threat to Native graduate workers, students, faculty, and staff at Northwestern and are thus intolerable to us as an antiracist and feminist labor union that supports Indigenous soverignty [sic] and resurgence, including the central demand of ‘land back,’” the statement read.

Guess we had better all pack up and head back to the land of our birth.

Syd González, a Ph.D. candidate who painted The Rock with McDaid-Morgan, said the incident was the “epitome of Indigenous erasure.”

Actually, the Cleveland Indians changing their name does a lot more to erase Indians than temporarily altering “BLM” into “BLT sandwich.”

Soon McDaid-Morgan and Gonzalez will have PhDs. We’ll be expected to call them “Doctor,” as with fellow PhD holders Christine Blasey Ford and Jill Biden. They will command reverence, and their opinions will be granted extra weight, regardless of the unseriousness of the subjects in which PhDs can be acquired.

Today’s DAISNAID report features a big city mayor. No, it isn’t Denver’s Michael Hancock. From the Austin American-Statesman:

In early November, as health officials warned of [an] impending COVID-19 spike, Austin Mayor Steve Adler hosted an outdoor wedding and reception with 20 guests for his daughter at a trendy hotel near downtown.

The next morning, Adler and seven other wedding attendees boarded a private jet bound for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they vacationed for a week at a family timeshare.

At the time, the city officially recommended that gatherings be limited to 10 or fewer.

One night into the trip, Adler addressed Austin residents in a Facebook video: “We need to stay home if you can. This is not the time to relax. We are going to be looking really closely. … We may have to close things down if we are not careful.”

The wedding was okay though, because Adler says people practiced social distancing.

Adler added that masks were distributed, although he acknowledged that guests were “probably not” wearing them all the time.

Just so long as you have the mask in your pocket, you can always whip it out if someone starts sneezing in your face.

It might not be a big deal that Adler blows off his own government’s recommendations — except that as always with Democrats, there is coercion involved.

Adler has been involved heavily in the city’s COVID-19 response, taking what many considered a bold and politically risky step in March of canceling the South by Southwest Festival, a premier event and economic boon for the city, days before the first local cases were confirmed.

Every time bureaucrats cancel an event, people who would have earned money from it get hurt. Most of these people probably have less excess wealth than Adler.

Even CNN propagandists are choking on the COVID hypocrisy. Daily Caller reports:

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar blasted several Democratic leaders who have been caught breaking or skirting their own COVID-19 safety recommendations during a Wednesday afternoon segment of “CNN Newsroom.”

Keilar took aim at California Gov. Gavin Newsom, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, San Francisco Mayor London Breed, Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, all of whom were publicly exposed for breaking COVID-19 regulations in various ways.

Authorities are appalled that Americans celebrated Thanksgiving despite their disapproval. Despite all the warnings and proscriptions, almost 50 million people were estimated to have traveled over the weekend. We are told that anyone who did so to gather for Thanksgiving can assume they have the ChiCom virus.

They managed to deflate the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, but they couldn’t stop Thanksgiving, any more than they could stop the Fourth of July. Remember this, from back in the summer?

Mayor Eric Garcetti discussed the pausing of businesses reopening in Los Angeles and beaches being ordered to close on the Fourth of July weekend to help slow the spread of the virus.

“We simply cannot risk people’s lives” by allowing them to go on with their lives, Garcetti barked.

He then announced that, along with the beach closures, Fourth of July firework displays would be prohibited in hope of keeping Angelenos from gathering in groups.

Also, he said, “Gatherings of people you do not live with are not allowed.”

So much for the right of the people peacefully to assemble, one of the constitutional liberties we celebrate on the Fourth.

But wait… when asked about the anti-American Black Lives Matter riots that were laying waste to statues of the Founding Fathers throughout the country, Garcetti said, “Keep your social distance and wear masks. People can — and should — still exercise their first amendment rights.”

They won’t be able to ban Christmas either, even if CNN says we “we just can’t do” Christmas this year.

Macy’s is under fire after calling the Zeta Phi Beta Centennial Steppers a “diverse dance group” in a Thanksgiving Day tweet.

The Steppers performed in this year’s scarcely attended one-block-long Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was founded at nearly all-black Howard University.

“What’s that sound, you ask? Why it’s the diverse dance group, Zeta Phi Beta Steppers!” Macy’s exclaimed in a now-deleted tweet.

MSNBC thought cop Joy Reid ignited the Twitter mob by offendedly shrieking that the Steppers are not a dance group. Others quickly piled on:

“I’m tired of businesses using Black entities (including Historically Black Sororities and Fraternities) as a means to look more ‘diverse’ and accepting,” added @_AwesomeKid. “It’s clear how performative this attempt was, due to your lack of research for your own parade performers.”

Don’t include blacks, you are racist. Include them, you are still racist. That’s the genius of Cultural Marxism.

“Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. ain’t exist for 100 years just for Macy’s to call them a “diverse dance group,” said @TevonBlair.

We’ve come a long way since 2007, when you had to say something like “nappy-headed hos” to get yourself canceled.

COVID-19 has highlighted the two primary qualities of Democrats who achieve positions of authority: authoritarianism and hypocrisy.

The hypocrisy of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is so glaring, not even the Washington Post could help but report on it:

Hancock, a … vice president of the National Conference of Democratic Mayors, has been an advocate for coronavirus restrictions. He has pushed residents to wear masks and last week warned that another stay-at-home order might be needed if cases keep rising in Colorado, which has seen covid-related hospitalizations rise in the past week by almost 13 percent.

He has also been vocal about limiting holiday get-togethers. At a virtual news conference on Friday, he suggested residents buy a small turkey and celebrate with their immediate family only. “Maybe next year we can all be together again,” he said. “I’m asking, I’m urging, I’m pleading with everyone. Please stay home.”

But just 30 minutes after tweeting his latest plea to avoid travel on Wednesday morning, Hancock boarded a flight, KUSA reported.

Off he flew to Mississippi, to visit family for Thanksgiving.

He got caught, so he apologized. There, all better.

As with the mendacious Gavin Newsom, Hancock’s apology appears not to be heartfelt:

Despite the mayor’s apology, [Mike] Strott, his spokesman, argued to the Denver Post that Hancock didn’t see his travel as contradicting his advice to residents.

Strott argues that Hancock will “follow health and safety guidelines upon his return.”

Quintessential COVID-19 tyrant Andrew Cuomo also had plans for today, but they blew up in his face in time for him to ostentatiously cancel them:

Cuomo narrowly skirted putting another[*] elderly New Yorker in danger of dying from COVID-19 after he decided to cancel Thanksgiving dinner plans with his 89-year-old mother.

*Cuomo killed presumably thousands of elderly New Yorkers by forcing nursing homes to accept 6,300 coronavirus patients.

This is after getting widely slammed for announcing plans to have Thanksgiving dinner with his two daughters and his elderly mother, TODAY reported.

This came on the heels of Cuomo, basically, ordering New Yorkers not to celebrate the holiday with anyone but household members.

Jason Riley reminds us of a few other prime examples of COVID-19 hypocrisy:

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi violated lockdown orders to get their hair done, which sounds like something a Kardashian would do. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney sneaked out of state to dine at a restaurant in neighboring Maryland because eateries back home were closed to indoor customers. When Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser and members of her staff traveled to Delaware to celebrate Joe Biden’s presidential victory, they violated Covid quarantine requirements. And Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who tweeted in July that “wearing masks in public should be mandatory,” has been spotted several times in public not wearing a mask while she was indoors and chatting face to face with others.

Notice that hypocritical coronavirus tyrants are virtually always members of the Party of Coercion, i.e., Democrats.

These are the same politicians who had no shame about gathering at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta in July to eulogize the late Rep. John Lewis even while millions of grieving Americans were barred from giving their own loved ones proper funerals.

Even as it has forced regular people to wear masks, the ChiCom virus has taken the mask off Democrat officials, revealing their hypocrisy and predilection for arbitrary tyranny.

Actually, the capital of Oregon is Salem, but Portland is certainly the cultural capital of the people in charge. You might say the 100+ leftist riots that have occurred there this year have made it the cultural capital of moonbats throughout the country.

Oregon Gauleiter Kate Brown’s assertion that there is no difference between calling the police over a noisy party and ratting out neighbors for seating seven at the Thanksgiving table is absurd. In the former, the infraction is not gathering; it is creating a disturbance — similar to the case if Oregon’s leftist rulers were to enforce laws against rioting. With Thanksgiving restrictions, it is explicitly the gathering itself that is forbidden, despite being a fundamental right guaranteed in the Constitution.

Even though people want to see Phil’s prognostication in person for the 135th time — the critter gives worldwide attention to the tiny Jefferson County town — the Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club has determined it is in the best interests of public safety that Phil crawl out of his hole without his screaming fans cheering him on.

If people gather, there could be COVID.

In deciding to go virtual on Feb. 2, the club said it has been in contact with health officials and those providing guidance on safe practices during the pandemic.

A virtual version of the event should generate all of the excitement of the Democrats’ dud of a virtual convention last August. If this is the new normal, next time around they won’t even bother.

Does anyone really think canceling this as a public event months in advance will keep the world safe from the ChiCom virus? Maybe. But given that authorities have not hesitated to egg on massive Black Lives Matter riots even with the pandemic raging, it seems more likely that Punxsutawney Phil has been identified as a tradition. Like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and every other American tradition, he is part of our culture and therefore subject to cancelation by asphyxiation.
