The phony George Floyd narrative must be thoroughly debunked if only so that when decent people are returned to power, Derek Chauvin can be let out of jail. The event, which took place at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, was part of the Walker’s Free First Saturdays program and featured artist Tamar Ettun who creates “demon traps.”

Tamar Ettun’s “art” looks like it was created by a small child with development issues. But that makes no difference these days. The important thing is to be “transgressive” by sneering at whatever the liberal establishment commands us to hate.

The event was designed for families, and finished with a “playful demon summoning session.”

It finally stalled at the gates of Vienna. Now it is picking up steam again, thanks to liberal allies facilitating hijrah.

The Minneapolis City Council voted unanimously to amend the city’s noise ordinance, which had prevented some morning and evening calls at certain times of the year because they occurred at times of the day when tighter noise restrictions are in place.

That would be the same city council that unanimously pledged to abolish the police department in response to race riots. When leftists take control locally, move.

Moonbats bark incessantly about systemic racism. To see how it works in the real world, consider a new agreement reached between the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers and Minneapolis Public Schools:

The agreement states that if a non-white teacher is subject to excess, MPS must excess a white teacher with the “next least” seniority.

To “excess” is to lay off. If a black teacher would normally be laid off, the white teacher with the next least seniority gets laid off instead. Because white people are racist and bad.

The agreement also prioritizes the reinstatement of teachers from “underrepresented populations” over white teachers.

Systemic racism is real. It works in favor of the privileged identity groups the liberal establishment tells us are “oppressed.”

As noted by Hans Bader,

This violates a well-known Supreme Court decision overturning the race-based layoff of a white teacher, and contradicts a well-known federal appeals court decision, which ruled that race-based layoffs of white teachers violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. …

Since the teachers union supported the adoption of this discriminatory provision, it may also be liable for discrimination along with the school district. Unions are subject to liability for racial discrimination under Title VII and 42 U.S.C. 1981, see, e.g., Woods v. Graphic Communications (1991), and the Supreme Court has ruled that people who conspire with the government to discriminate can sometimes be sued along with it under the Constitution, see Adickes v. S.H. Kress & Co. (1971).

The race-based layoff provision also violates the law against racial discrimination in contracts, 42 U.S.C. 1981, for essentially the same reasons it violates the Constitution.

Such inconvenient laws and rulings demonstrate why it is so important to progressives to do whatever it takes to put unprincipled apparatchiks like Merrick Garland in charge of the courts — even if it means castrating the Supreme Court with the TERM Act.

Before Al Sharpton could become rich and powerful, first he had to become famous. This he accomplished through the mother of all hate hoaxes. Discover the Networks takes us back to November 1987…

…when he injected himself into the case of a 15-year-old black girl named Tawana Brawley, who claimed that she had been abducted and raped by a gang of six whites in Dutchess County, New York. Despite a complete absence of any credible evidence to support Miss Brawley’s story, Sharpton assumed the role of special adviser to the girl…

Lamenting that their client had fallen prey to “certain elements that have constantly antagonized the black community, including the Ku Klux Klan and law-enforcement personnel,” Sharpton and the Brawley lawyers demanded that New York Governor Mario Cuomo appoint a special prosecutor to the case and publicly charged that “high-level” local law-enforcement officials were involved in the crime—an allegation that led to numerous death threats against members of the Dutchess County police department.

The case was a farce from the beginning. Brawley refused to speak with investigators.

Then at a March 1988 news conference, Sharpton and the attorneys fingered Stephen Pagones, Dutchess County’s assistant district attorney, as one of their client’s attackers.

There was no evidence against Pagones or anyone else. It was a circus. Head clown Sharpton denounced those who questioned his absurd allegations as racist.

In June 1988, a Sharpton aide named Perry McKinnon stepped forward to make a remarkable series of disclosures. A former police officer, private investigator, and director of security at a Brooklyn Hospital, McKinnon revealed that: “Sharpton acknowledged to me early on that ‘The [Brawley] story do sound like bull—t, but it don’t matter. We’re building a movement. This is the perfect issue. Because you’ve got whites on blacks. That’s an easy way to stir up all the deprived people, who would want to believe and who would believe—and all [you’ve] got to do is convince them—that all white people are bad. Then you’ve got a movement.” Explaining that Sharpton was methodically “building an atmosphere” for a race war, McKinnon continued: “Sharpton told me it don’t matter whether any whites did it or not. Something happened to her…even if Tawana done it to herself.” To prove his truthfulness, McKinnon submitted to a lie-detector test administered on camera and passed all questions.

The grand jury’s findings were conclusive. It was all a hoax. But Sharpton kept milking it, even proclaiming that Stephen Pagones had privately confessed. He also alleged that Brawley had been victimized by a “white supremist [sic] cult ritual.”

Pagones sued him for defamation. After 10 years of death threats and misery, he prevailed in court. Sharpton was supposed to pay him $65,000, but being above the law, never did. Eventually Sharpton’s supporters paid the debt.

The unapologetic Sharpton went on to become the moral avatar of the Democrat Party. No one is considered as a Democrat presidential candidate without slobbering on his ring.

If the Tawana Brawley hoax had taken place in 2021, Pagones would have been found guilty — not because anyone believed Brawley or Sharpton, but so as to prevent savages from rioting.

Sharpton arrived in Minneapolis yesterday to stamp his imprimatur upon the spectacle unfolding there. Watch him setting off:

Is Derek Chauvin criminally responsible for the death of George Floyd beyond a reasonable doubt? Not likely. But that doesn’t matter to Al Sharpton or anyone else in the liberal lynch mob.

The convenient thing about race riots in a society poisoned by critical race theory is that you can always find another pretext. About 500 people had gathered overnight outside of a police precinct in the city and clashed with officers.

Details of what actually happened to Wright are still unclear.

Brooklyn Center Police said that officers had stopped an individual shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday. After determining the driver had an outstanding warrant, police tried to arrest him. But the driver reentered the vehicle and drove away, police said. An officer fired at the vehicle, striking the driver. Police said the vehicle traveled several blocks before crashing into another vehicle.

Apparently, the officer meant to use a Taser, but in the heat of the moment accidentally fired a handgun instead.

If the media didn’t encourage Criminals of Color to resist arrest, Wright might still be alive.

Minnesota Department of Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington detailed how demonstrators gathered shortly after the shooting and crash, with some jumping on top of police cars and confronting officers. Marchers also descended upon the Brooklyn Center Police Department building where rocks and other objects were thrown at officers, he said.

A thrown rock is a lethal weapon. If police were to defend themselves appropriately, this nonsense would end quickly. But that is not an option, because the media wouldn’t like it.

Harrington added that about 20 businesses had been broken into at the city’s Shingle Creek shopping center. …

The Brooklyn Center Walmart was targeted by looters who also completely destroyed a nearby Foot Locker, T Mobile and a New York men’s clothing store. Looting spilled over into north and south Minneapolis late Sunday into Monday morning as stores in Uptown and along Lake Street were also broken into and emptied.

This would qualify as social justice, on the grounds that it is shop-owners’ fault that Criminals of Color sometimes get themselves killed while resisting arrest.

So long as the ruling class glorifies criminals and eggs on race riots, we will get more of them. Reward bad people the way Patrisse Cullors has been rewarded and ever worse behavior is guaranteed.

The situation will continue to deteriorate until one of two things happens: (1) America succumbs to liberalism and is destroyed; or (2) Americans reject liberalism and push back hard enough to reestablish sanity.

The spree comes amid a nearly unprecedented spike in violent crime, particularly shootings, since the May 25 killing [sic] of George Floyd in police custody and the civil unrest that followed.

In November, the toll of people shot this year surpassed 500 in Minneapolis, the most in 15 years. Seventy-nine homicides is the highest count since the mid-1990s, an era when the city earned the grim moniker “Murderapolis.”

Several members of the council introduced a plan Friday that would institute additional cuts to the Minneapolis Police Department and make the city’s reduction in law enforcement permanent. The plan would cut about $8 million from the police budget and shrink the MPD force by 15%.

Being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry, because no matter how bad your moonbattery blows up in everyone’s face, it is somebody else’s fault. No doubt systemic racism or economic inequality is to blame for the transition of Minneapolis into New Mogadishu.

After the leftists comprising the Minneapolis City Council exploited the George Floyd spectacle to declare war on the police, even unanimously pledging to abolish the police department, crime predictably shot into the stratosphere. Now the city’s rulers wonder, where are the police?

Minnesota Public Radio reports on a Tuesday meeting of the Minneapolis City Council:

[F]or much of the two-hour meeting, council members told police Chief Medaria Arradondo that their constituents are seeing and hearing street racing which sometimes results in crashes, brazen daylight carjackings, robberies, assaults and shootings. And they asked Arradondo what the department is doing about it.

What police officers are doing is laying low so that they do not get thrown in jail to await kangaroo court trials, like the cops involved in the arrest of George Floyd, who apparently died of a massive fentanyl overdose while in police custody.

To quote councilmember Jamal Osman,

“Residents are asking, ‘Where are the police’?”

About 100 officers have left the department so far this year. The rest are probably in hiding from the local government, which has ostentatiously sided with criminals against them.

The number of reported violent crimes, like assaults, robberies and homicides are up compared to 2019, according to MPD crime data. More people have been killed in the city in the first nine months of 2020 than were slain in all of last year. Property crimes, like burglaries and auto thefts, are also up. Incidents of arson have increased 55 percent over the total at this point in 2019.

No one could be surprised by any of this, considering the aggressive emphasis on glorifying criminals and hobbling the police for being “systemically racist.”

Council members in wards which usually don’t see high levels of violence say their constituents are feeling “terrorized.”

Terrorizing is what terrorists do. The council enthusiastically backed Black Lives Matter in the terror campaign that resulted in the destruction of hundreds of local businesses.

You can’t expect anything other than an explosion of criminal violence after moonbattery like this:

Recently, the council took more than $1 million from the police budget to hire “violence interrupters” to intervene and defuse potentially violent confrontations.

Council member Phillipe Cunningham continues to believe that we don’t need police if we have violence interrupters:

“If we have these systems in place we are getting ahead of the violence,” said Cunningham. “That’s why I have advocated so strongly for the violence interrupters, because if they are interrupting the violence before the guns are being fired, then the MPD doesn’t have to respond to that violence.”

If only we had moonbattery interrupters, liberal cities like Minneapolis might yet be saved from ruin.

“What I am sort of flabbergasted by right now is colleagues, who a very short time ago were calling for abolition, are now suggesting we should be putting more resources and funding into MPD,” Cunningham said.

Better late than never.

It is likely that Phillipe Cunningham, who apparently took hormones to grow a beard and identifies as a man, has spent much of her life in a state of flabbergastation.

In the aftermath of Black Lives Matter riots, Minneapolis still looks like a warzone. The same municipal bureaucrats that allowed the riots to happen continue to put the screws to the owners of ruined businesses by requiring them to prepay taxes on their ruined properties for the second half of 2020 before granting them a demolition permit.

Cleaning up so as to begin rebuilding is expensive enough for business owners. Via the StarTribune:

[N]early 100 properties in Minneapolis were destroyed or severely damaged in the riots following the death of George Floyd. The vast majority of those properties are either still standing or have been turned into ugly and often dangerous piles of rubble. …

Cleaning up that mess is expensive. Most property owners must pay $35,000 to $100,000 to clear their sites of debris, with larger tracts — such as strip shopping centers — costing as much as $400,000, according to property owners. That doesn’t include the money those owners must pay to get their permits.

Coming up with advance property taxes on top won’t be easy, considering that many relied on their destroyed businesses for income.

In return for taxes, citizens expect the government to protect their rights. Why should anyone have to pay the extravagant price of Big Government, only to receive anarchy?

It’s as if the leftists running Minneapolis do not want businesses to rebuild. They must prefer to lord it over a ruined slum, where there will be less need to worry about Republican challengers.

The city’s unhelpfulness affects public safety:

Basim Sabri, owner of Karmel Mall and other real estate on or near Lake Street, said he has filed three complaints with the city in recent weeks about safety hazards in the neighborhood.

“You can’t just allow a bunch of rubble and hazardous material to sit in the middle of Lake Street,” Sabri said.

But if the Minneapolis City Council cared about public safety, it wouldn’t be trying to abolish the police department.

Rebuilding in Minneapolis or any other city that sides with rioters (e.g., Seattle, Portland) may not be a sound investment.

The city of Seattle has agreed to pay $10 million to 50 Black Lives Matter protesters who sued the police department for claiming they used excessive force during the riots in 2020, in a settlement announced by attorneys from both sides on Wednesday.

The supposedly excessive force consists of using “aggressive” crowd control devices like flash-bang grenades, foam-tipped projectiles, and blast balls that emit pepper gas.

Traditionally, rioters are shot.

Big Government taxes what it wants less of, like wealth generation. It uses the money expropriated to subsidize what it wants more of, like race riots.

Democrats want rioters to know that their services will be compensated, in case they are needed in 2024 as they were in the last presidential election year.

However, it isn’t only Democrats who side with leftist rioters against the rest of us. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) infamously marched with a Black Lives Matter mob. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) was instrumental in establishing Juneteenth a.k.a. George Floyd Day as a national holiday to reward the rioters with a celebration of their viewpoint. This obscenity passed the Senate unanimously.

Roda Osman, 33, who earned the moniker ‘Brick Lady’ on social media, has been charged with felony theft by deception.

This wasn’t Roda’s first trip to the well. She pulled something similar in Minneapolis 3 years earlier:

That campaign was titled ‘Help Black Muslim Mother Pay Her Medical Bill’ and claimed a ‘young Black Muslim single mother’ was attacked by private security, leaving her with bruises, a black eye and injuries to her leg.

‘She needs an estimated $5K to pay for medical bills, legal fees and a new phone and more,’ the page read.

The Minneapolis Police Department said it had not received reports of Osman being assaulted in 2020. The last contact the department had with Osman was in 2012 for public lewdness and disorderly conduct.

What might have been a simple scam became a hate hoax when Houston police smelled a rat and Osman responded by implicating sceptics in her oppression:

In another video, after Houston Police had been investigating the alleged scam, Osman made an announcement with the caption, “Help me hold Houston police department accountable.” …

“They want to let all gendered oppressed people know, that if you ever speak out, you will be punished and you will be punished badly,” Osman said about others online who were calling out the allegedly fraudulent GoFundMe page.

In a society that rewards sniveling victims, people will achieve victimhood to snivel about by any means necessary.

Edmonton blew a fortune on 60 electric buses. Most of those don’t work either. Turns out electric vehicles don’t make sense in the cold. Naturally the next step was to try them in frigid Minnesota:

In 2015, Duluth received a $6.3 million federal grant for six, ultimately seven, battery-electric buses from Proterra.

Proterra has gone bankrupt, leaving customers trying to keep their vehicles running in the lurch.

In Minneapolis,

Metro Transit followed in 2017 when it received a $1.7 million federal grant to buy eight battery-electric accordion buses…

They got free money and saved the allegedly imperiled climate from harmless carbon emissions. Everyone lived happily ever after — until reality set in:

Both the Twin Cities and Duluth have had problems with their battery-electric buses. For one, they can’t go as far as their builders advertised, in part because of the cold weather.

Too bad the global warming hoax isn’t real. If temperatures would rise by more than the current insignificant fluctuations, EVs would be less insane.

Metro Transit’s battery-electric buses are also less reliable than their diesel-fueled counterparts. A September 2023 presentation to the Met Council’s Transportation Committee showed the battery-electric buses broke down twice as often.

The outlandishly expensive batteries frequently fail, as do the chargers.

Duluth also had problems with its battery-electric bus fleet.
