According to Disney’s Wheel of Wokeness, those who are educated and/or speak English commit “privilege” and are therefore disfavored.

Hochul is eyeing 4,000 entry-level posts that are currently unfilled within state agencies, including clerical or administrative roles, technical support, equipment service and repair and food services.

Letting Americans take entry level posts rather than giving them to foreigners would provide an opportunity to get people off welfare. But why would Democrats want people off welfare?

Mayor Eric Adams also likes the idea.

“I would love to get migrants and asylum seekers to help with the lifeguard shortage. We’ve been successful in getting almost 30,000 people to [file] applications, including work authorization, asylum, TPS — we want more,” he said Tuesday during a press conference at City Hall.

TPS = “Temporary” Protection Status. “Asylum seekers” means “illegal aliens.” Tanks and artillery are outmoded. Nowadays, nations are invaded and conquered by vast hordes of rapidly reproducing Third Worlders who sneak into the country illegally and then recite the magic word “asylum,” which virtually guarantees they will never be deported.

Providing the invaders with jobs is only part of the displacement process:

“We’re also looking forward to the state continuing to work to resettle families,” said Anne Williams Isom, deputy mayor for Health and Human Services, during the City Hall-based press conference Tuesday.

But there’s an ongoing challenge convincing migrants to relocate upstate.

Hochul is expected to sign the Clean Slate Act on Thursday, which will automatically seal records after three years for anyone who committed a misdemeanor and after eight years for anyone who committed a felony (except Class A felonies) and is not a registered sex offender.

If you killed someone and accepted a plea deal or were convicted of manslaughter, you get a “clean slate.”

If you committed a rape alongside armed robbery and the rape wasn’t prosecuted to spare the victim (it especially happens with child victims), you get a “clean slate.”

A few people actually benefit from liberal rule — like Kim Crawford:

Crawford beat her 5-year-old because he broke the TV and then watched him suffer and die slowly for five days instead of getting him help so she did not get in trouble.

In one sanctuary city alone, the hotel bill for the next 3 years goes into 10 figures. New York City is extending its contract with local hotels to house the deluge of “refugees”:

And the revised contract’s projected new total $1.365 billion price tag — nearly five times what the original deal called for — would just pay the rental fees to more than 100 hotels converted into emergency migrant shelters.

Adams has close ties to the hotel industry. The union representing 31,000 hotel workers — the Hotel Trades Council — was one of the first unions to endorse his campaign for mayor in March 2021.

The privileged few with a seat at the table actually benefit from Democrat rule. Otherwise, it would have been overthrown by now.

It was unclear Monday if the fat hotel contract is part of the estimated total $12 billion that Mayor Eric Adams has said the migrant crisis could cost the city over three years — absent additional financial aid from Washington and Albany.

Forget Albany; not even leftists like Kathy Hochul can wring this kind of money out of taxpayers, many of whom have been escaping New York anyway. The federal government will step in. It doesn’t have the money either, being over $33 TRILLION in debt, largely thanks to Biden. But it can print more. That way, everyone who worked hard to set aside savings gets to pay for criminals from faraway countries to be treated like royalty in New York City hotels.

Gas stoves will soon become toast in New York, under a controversial new handshake deal between Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and Albany lawmakers that would make that state the first in the US to ban natural gas.

The pending budget deal mandates all new buildings under seven stories be fully electric by 2026 with larger structures following three years later.

With a straight face, we are told this will prevent the climate from continuing to fluctuate the way it always has and always will. Specifically, Hochul says banning gas stoves will protect New York from hurricanes and excessive snow. Her estimation of her constituents’ intelligence is not high.

Hochul notably has kept gas stoves in her own Buffalo home and the Executive Mansion in Albany while pushing for the gas ban in future buildings through the state budget process.

The point, as with the war on nuclear energy, is to make electricity prohibitively expensive, even while making us increasingly reliant on it by mandating inferior electric stoves, electric cars, et cetera.

This will add to the burdens already imposed by green energy efforts, including a 2022 state law signed by Hochul that will ban the sales of gas automobiles by 2035.

You have to wonder how blatantly hostile Democrats would need to be toward those they rule before people will cast off their liberal media brainwashing and start pushing back.

City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is pushing to rename the New York Mets’ home stadium, Citi Field, over climate change concerns.

Citigroup pays an estimated $20 million per year to have its name on the stadium. That money is ill-gotten, from the moonbat point of view, because some of it came from investing in energy.

Because money is only clean to a liberal if it has been confiscated and redistributed by Big Government, all stadiums should be renamed “Government Field.” That would establish equity, so that no stadium would have a more appealing name than another.

“The Public Advocate and fans will cite the bank’s role in financing polluters and profiting from climate chaos,” Williams’ office said in a statement.

“Global warming” was discarded because the climate fluctuates in both directions. “Climate change” doesn’t work either, because too many understand that the climate will always change no matter what Big Government inflicts on us. “Climate chaos” will do for now. When people continue to laugh off the imaginary crisis, progressives may have to switch to something even darker, like “climate doom.”

According to leftist ideology, generating energy by effective means causes climate chaos because it releases the essential plant nutrient carbon dioxide.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority spent nearly twice as much on consultants for the Second Avenue Subway as it did to actually dig the tunnel from 63rd to 96th streets, a damning new assessment revealed Monday.

The 400-page report from researchers at New York University also revealed that the MTA’s failure to properly supervise the outside firms allowed costs to spiral in other key ways: contractors and unions overstaffed the project, dug caverns for platforms that were double the necessary size and drew up station designs so bespoke that each of the three new stops has escalators made by a different manufacturer.

Democrats tax and spend quickly. In other matters, their pace slows dramatically:

“Other places in the world – in Madrid, in four years, they built 80 miles of subway,” said Eric Goldwyn, one of the authors of the report. “We’ve built just a mile.”

Every subway project the MTA has built over the last 20 years has shattered the previous world record it set in terms of cost:

• The 7-train extension to Hudson Yards cost $2.4 billion and officials abandoned plans to build a station at 42nd Street and 10th Avenue to contain costs.

• The $4.5 billion Second Avenue Subway’s first phase through the Upper East Side was even more expensive on a per mile basis.

• The second phase of the Second Avenue Subway through East Harlem is expected to cost $6 billion, twice as much as the first leg on a per mile basis.

Big Government is not known for its efficiency. Big Government run by Kathy Hochul, Eric Adams, et al.? As they say in New York, forget about it.

What your “private” insurance must cover is dictated by the government — as we learned from ObamaCare, which drove up insurance costs by forcing us to pay for coverage we will never need.

Hochul — who, like her abortion-loving counterpart in the White House, claims to be a devout Catholic — … signed a raft of laws guaranteeing that abortion-on-demand would remain legal in the Empire State even if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, as indeed it did. Opponents of said laws, she declared, were “Neanderthals.”

It may be true that Neanderthals had more respect for the new life inside a pregnant woman than liberals do. They certainly couldn’t have had any less.

Newsom, not to be outdone by Hochul, signed twice as many pro-abortion laws as she had in June, “establishing some of the strongest abortion protections in the nation,” reported CalMatters. One of those laws “fund[s] procedures and travel costs for low-income individuals,” thereby forcing Golden State taxpayers to foot the bill for abortion tourism from pro-life states.

Planned Parenthood is getting our money’s worth regarding the taxpayer support it funnels back into the Democratic Party. Jodi Hicks, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, reportedly “got very emotional” when Newsom privately announced signing pro-abortion legislation to “stakeholders.”

When Planned Parenthood smiles, the Devil smiles too.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that retail pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens can now provide abortion pills.

The abortion drug Mifepristone was previously only available through doctors, clinics, or some mail-order pharmacies. The new rule change from the FDA will allow any pharmacy abiding by its guidelines to fill prescription orders in stores and by mail.

Death by mail. That’s maximum convenience. Canada is sure to offer something similar for suicide.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, medication abortion accounted for 54% of U.S. abortions in 2020. That percentage is likely to increase as retail pharmacies provide abortion pills.

Last year crime rates were already stratospheric in New York and nationwide.

Republican campaign ads have enraged liberals by calling them on it. Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Inquirer says drawing attention to crime is “vile” and “racist.” Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot got this ad pulled for showing what has been going on in Chicago:

But Pritzker and Lightfoot have not been able to suppress public awareness of how fellow thugs have exploited the carte blanche offered them by liberal rule. Crime has emerged as a major issue in the midterms — and people know who to blame for it.

In contrast, Republicans offer solutions. They are outnumbered more than two to one in New York, yet Lee Zeldin is running neck and neck with incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul. Zeldin says he will immediately declare a state of emergency to combat crime:

“I’m going to suspend New York’s cashless bail laws and some other pro-criminal laws that have been passed, force the legislature to come to the table to negotiate an improvement because we have to take back our streets.”

He plans to remove Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for refusal to enforce the law. Like George Gascon (Los Angeles), Kim Foxx (Chicago), Larry Krasner (Philadelphia), Chesa Boudin (San Francisco), and Kim Gardner (St Louis), and Marilyn Mosby (Baltimore), Bragg was placed in office by sinister leftist financier George Soros.

Weather Underground scion Chesa Boudin has been recalled. The rest need to follow. But to properly clean house, Democrats must be pried from power.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday announced she is ordering state regulators to make changes necessary to require all new passenger cars, pickup trucks and SUVs sold in the state to be zero emissions by 2035.

The move comes about a month after California voted to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles starting in 2035, setting a precedent for other blue states.

Electric vehicles cost on average $19,000 more than real cars, even with the subsidies that force reasonable people to help buy rich liberals’ virtue-signaling moonbatmobiles. The prices rise in tandem with the subsidies.

EVs are far more expensive to maintain and to insure. Their battery performance is significantly reduced by hot or cold weather. They spontaneously burst into flames. The electricity that makes them go is not always available in states run by liberals. Where electricity can be obtained, it is primarily generated by burning fossil fuels, which according to the champions of EVs defeats their only purpose.

The stated objective of banning affordable, reliable transportation is to improve the allegedly problematic climate. Anyone who honestly believes that driving EVs will have any perceptible effect on the climate qualifies as cognitively disabled.

The proper cars that Democrats are making illegal are actually less harmful to the environment.

EVs do not make sense at any level. That’s why progressives have to impose them by force.

Deliberately making transportation less efficient is an example of why our standard of living steadily declines under Democrat rule.
