Kathy Hochul signed a bill Monday that will require utility corporations, municipalities, water-works corporations, and telephone service providers to utilize each customer’s desired name and pronouns in communications.

Here’s how Hochul spends her time instead of dealing with the Empire State’s growing economic and societal problems:

By “correct” she means “politically correct.” She most definitely does not mean “biologically correct.”

This may seem like a frivolous waste of time, but it actually serves a purpose. Hochul and her fellow Democrats are establishing that the government has the power to compel speech, regardless of the First Amendment. It has the power to force people to overtly reject objective reality in favor of official ideology, just like in Orwell’s 1984.

In case legislation requires anyone to ask for my preferred pronouns, I’ll put them on the record in advance. They are “Let’s go Brandon/Let’s go Brandon.”

Joe Biden doesn’t think much of law enforcement officers, or he would not tolerate a VP who actively raised funds to bail antipolice rioters out of prison so that they could resume their unlawful activities. He likes the Capitol Police though, because they can be exploited in the extended aftermath of the absurdly overhyped January 6 riot. True, some of them posed for selfies with the alleged insurrectionists. But others publicly wept during theatrical political proceedings, so traumatized were they by people trespassing in the People’s House. So Biden tips his hat to them:

Joe Biden participated in the 40th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service [Saturday] in Washington. Hundreds of law enforcement officers gathered to honor the fallen. … President Unity took the opportunity during his speech to turn it into a political one, a one-sided political speech.

As usual, Biden’s speech was largely incoherent. But he did manage to milk January 6 yet again. Via UPI:

During the 22-minute speech, he thanked local police for thwarting the Jan. 6 insurrection where rioters attempted to prevent Congress from certifying the 2020 election.

Biden said he had “no hesitation” awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to the Capitol police and D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department. He acknowledged that 150 officers were injured in the attack and five died in its aftermath.

“Because of you, democracy survived,” he said.

This outlandish hyperbole is meant to cover for the fact that despite lies to the contrary, no Capitol Police officers were killed by the rioters. In contrast, unarmed protester Ashli Babbitt was executed in cold blood by unpunished Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd.

Whereas Biden went to rhetorical extremes to exploit the Capitol Riot, he had nothing to say about a similar incident that occurred just last Thursday, when a mob of moonbats broke into and occupied the Bureau of Indian Affairs:

Environmental and indigenous activists protested in front of the White House and in the Bureau of Indian Affairs on Thursday. More than 185 people were arrested between both locations, bringing the total arrested this week to over 530.

The group has been demonstrating in a week-long action known as People vs. Fossil Fuels that began on Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday. They’re demanding an end to the use of fossil fuels and for President Joe Biden to declare a climate emergency.

Their lunatic demands would plunge the economy into total collapse, resulting in the death by starvation of a large percentage of the population. But because the liberal establishment is on the same side, Biden and the media let this lawlessness slide, rather than inflating it into an “insurrection” and throwing protesters into solitary confinement.

According to Interior Department spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz,

“Multiple injuries were sustained by security personnel, and one officer has been transported to a nearby hospital.”

Instead of denouncing the violent protesters as “insurrectionists,” Schwartz squawked that Interior Secretary Deb Haaland “believes strongly in respecting and upholding the right to free speech and peaceful protest.”

Like the protesters, what Haaland really does believe strongly in is moonbattery, as she demonstrated by hoisting the intersectional Progress Pride flag instead of Old Glory on Flag Day.

None of this merits a mention by Biden. Maybe honorary Democrat Liz Cheney and her colleagues will announce an investigation. But don’t hold your breath. As noted by Tristan Justice,

Democrats outright rejected Republicans’ demands to probe rampant political violence throughout last year’s summer of rage, estimated to cause 66 times more damage than the single-day riot at the Capitol.

The Summer of Rage was inflicted by Black Lives Matter and Antifa, who are also on the same page as the Democrat Party.

According to the current rules, leftists are allowed to protest violently. Nonleftists are not even allowed to speak up at school board meetings, or Merrick Garland will sic the FBI on them.

Walton has said that she wants to cut the funding to the police force and send social workers to respond to some emergency calls instead.

On Wednesday, Walton reiterated that policy when responding to an incident where a 3-year-old was shot.

If the savages who make Buffalo unsafe will shoot a 3-year-old, odds are slim that they will spare social workers. Nonetheless, moonbattery dictates that they be deployed to address crime, because police officers only make matters worse.

“It is my concern that that community has experienced a very deeply hurtful trauma, and our response was to re-victimize them with another traumatic event, rather than sending in social workers and mental health counselors,” Walton said.

She said she plans to reallocate $7.5 million of police funds to social programs.

If there are any sane people left in Buffalo, get out before it’s too late — and don’t relocate to a city run by Democrats, or you will only have to escape again.

It takes no more than a tweeted rumor to set off the mob. Pray no one tweets about you, or you could end up like Edward Cagney Mathews of the Philadelphia suburb Mount Laurel. After context-free video of him spewing racial invective at a Neighbor of Color who pushed him and called him a “white monkey” hit social media, Black Lives Matter showed up at his house.

In the video, he behaved like a belligerent jerk asking for trouble. But if belligerent jerks don’t have the right of free speech, then no one does — and if they don’t get to live in a civilized country, no one does.

Mathews was placed under arrest for bias intimidation and harassment and was later hit with additional bias intimidation and assault charges. As best as I can tell, the assault charges may have been for him getting up in his neighbor’s face and pushing his belly into him.

Not even one member of the mob who attacked him, responding police, or his house was placed under arrest.

The town’s mayor Stephen Steglik issued a statement that Mathews makes him sick to his stomach. Mathews “is not who we are.” The mob is.

Officers were hit with pepper spray and bottles. Not only Mathews’ townhouse but those adjoining it were damaged by the mob. But he’s the one in jail, not for being a jerk, but for angering Black Lives Matter.

The mob identified her as “a f**king Nazi” and accused her of supporting the President of the USA. Anyone who fails to embrace Antifa/BLM ideology is a Nazi and will be treated accordingly.

Szczepanski rushed to nearby NYPD police officers and appears to be assaulted again — in view of the cops. She said they “they told me to stay 6 feet from them and let me be attacked.”

An accused serial burglar and thief has been sentenced to probation for a burglary in Lincoln Park last year — even though he was already on probation for two burglaries at the time of the alleged break-in.

Jonathan Hernandez, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of theft in exchange for an 18-month probation sentence in the latest case, according to court records. He has been arrested seventeen times in Chicago since March 2014, according to CPD records.

Young as he is, Hernandez is a cinch to clear 100 arrests in his career, provided the government can keep law-abiding homeowners disarmed — and Chicago has repressive gun laws.

Among the bullet points on his résumé, Hernandez has been charged with threatening to shoot an off-duty cop whose garage he was allegedly burglarizing.

That Hernandez is still running around loose confirms that burglary is effectively legal in Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago.

It is being crafted as a poverty defense and will allow municipal court judges to dismiss a multitude of crimes if poverty, mental illness or a substance-abuse disorder drove the perpetrator to commit them.

We are closing in on absolute anarchotyranny, under which only those who are not criminals need to fear law enforcement (e.g., people who want to run a business during COVID-19 lockdowns, people who want to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms).

Given the excessive power held by ideologically deranged judges in California, almost any extreme of malevolent lunacy can be inflicted on the public in the name of COVID-19 — even letting half the criminals out of jail:

A Superior Court judge has ordered that the Orange County jail population be cut in half, ruling that the sheriff had failed to reduce the number of inmates to ensure adequate social distancing.

Credit the ACLU with an assist:

The move came in response to a lawsuit filed in April by the American Civil Liberties Union against Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes, seeking the release of medically vulnerable and disabled inmates as well as necessary measures to protect those remaining in the jails from the coronavirus.

So Judge Peter Wilson decided to let half the criminals loose. That way, everyone will be safe from the ChiCom virus.

Barnes said in a statement that the order would result in the release of more than 1,800 inmates, many of whom have been convicted of or are awaiting trial for violent crimes…

Why not just let all the criminals loose and put anyone who isn’t a criminal in jail? At least the law-abiding would be safer there than out in public in a state succumbing to anarchotyranny.

Wilson has commanded Sheriff Barnes to maintain the insane reductions “until the current COVID-19 emergency is declared terminated.” You can see why they wanted the curve as flat as possible; the flatter the curve, the longer they can draw this out.

Daisy Ramirez of the ACLU of Southern California crows triumphantly:

“This order recognizes that we must not forget the humanity of incarcerated people, and they should not be put in mortal danger.”

However, forgetting the humanity of regular Americans and putting them in mortal danger by unleashing violent felons upon them is SOP for the ACLU and for California’s liberal overlords.

Daily Wire has some background on the Orange County jail, which at least until recently was the second largest in California:

Barnes reduced the jail population by about 45% last spring and was instructed by a court to release even more detainees, including some sex offenders. According to the agency, the average daily jail population count declined to 2,826 on May 11 at the height of the active COVID-19 cases in its system. That number has steadily increased to 3,628, far below its capacity of 6,159.

Of Orange County’s 691 inmates who have tested positive for COVID-19 since March, none have died, and only three have been admitted to hospitals for treatment, recent data provided by the department indicates.

But we already knew this isn’t about keeping criminals safe from coronavirus. It’s about unleashing chaos while simultaneously criminalizing constructive activities like running a restaurant.
