In Cult of Climate Change, buying carbon offsets is the equivalent of buying indulgences from the church in the Medieval times. The practice allows corporations to posture greenly and comply with government mandates while doing nothing likely to influence the supposedly problematic weather.

For example, makers of actual cars were forced to buy credits from Tesla by California so that working-class drivers were financing luxury car owners. Airlines now routinely announce that they’re buying offsets which means a portion of your ticket is going to pay off some company that is supposedly doing some environmentally sound. Your power company buys credits resold by some company that’s supposedly running wind farms in Wyoming (that nobody needs) which doesn’t mean that you’re using wind power, but that you’re paying for someone else to use wind power to atone for your use of fossil fuels.

This is such an obvious scam that even the blindered moonbats at The Guardian noticed earlier this year:

The forest carbon offsets approved by the world’s leading certifier and used by Disney, Shell, Gucci and other big corporations are largely worthless and could make global heating worse, according to a new investigation.

The research into Verra, the world’s leading carbon standard for the rapidly growing $2bn (£1.6bn) voluntary offsets market, has found that, based on analysis of a significant percentage of the projects, more than 90% of their rainforest offset credits – among the most commonly used by companies – are likely to be “phantom credits” and do not represent genuine carbon reductions.

This is good news for plant life, as CO2 helps it to grow. However, according to leftist ideology, carbon causes climate chaos.

Only a handful of Verra’s rainforest projects showed evidence of deforestation reductions, according to two studies, with further analysis indicating that 94% of the credits had no benefit to the climate.

The less gullible might assume this number to be 100%. Good thing the forests weren’t really in such peril anyway:

The threat to forests had been overstated by about 400% on average for Verra projects, according to analysis of a 2022 University of Cambridge study.

If only offset posturing merely had no effect. Actually, it does harm:

Human rights issues are a serious concern in at least one of the offsetting projects. The Guardian visited a flagship project in Peru, and was shown videos that residents said showed their homes being cut down with chainsaws and ropes by park guards and police. They spoke of forced evictions and tensions with park authorities.

More recently, Bloomberg has admitted that South Pole, the world’s leader in selling carbon offsets with a valuation approaching $1 billion, is basically a swindle.

What do you expect? The very concept of carbon offsets is a swindle.

No matter how obvious the scam, don’t expect Big Government to let go of it soon. Climate offsets are too lucrative:

Imagine if Tony Soprano forced everyone in his neighborhood to buy “breathing credits” from him, which grant you the privilege to breathe a certain amount of air. And that, naturally, it would cost Tony Soprano nothing to create as many of these “breathing credits” as he wanted. He could also hand them out to his friends and others who did favors for him, creating a corrupt patronage system.

This is basically what governments plan to do with carbon credits. Except they are also gaslighting you by telling you they are helping save the planet.

Government can get away with more evil by pretending to do good.

By “her,” they mean “his.” The media’s use of female pronouns to refer to a guy who has been ruining races for legitimate competitors emphasizes that nothing journalist say can be taken at face value.

“Tiffany” says he feels “like a superhero” because of the way defeating women at cycling stokes his ego.

Urban Christian Academy is a private, K-8 school with an enrollment of 100 that describes itself as providing “a tuition-free, high-quality, Christ-centered education for low-income students.”

Not always so Christ-centered. Last year, it added this to its website:

“We are an affirming school. We stand with the LGBTQIA+ community and believe in their holiness. We celebrate the diversity of God’s creation in all its varied and beautiful forms.”

The liberal educrats in charge regard perverted sexual activities as a manifestation of God’s creation that should be promoted to children.

According to the school, that update prompted donors to stop contributing, many of them citing their interpretation of Christianity as the reason. Now, UCA has announced it will close at the end of the school year due to the loss of financial support.

Their “interpretation of Christianity” probably includes reference to the Bible, throughout which homosexuality is strictly proscribed, not to mention Luke 17:2.

Just as the main point of a Christian church is to provide moral mooring in a culture rotted through with degenerate moonbattery, the point of private school is to provide an alternative to the depraved filth taught in public schools. Why would anyone donate to Urban Christian Academy or any other “Christian” school that subjects children to LGBT indoctrination?

Kalie Callaway-George, UCA’s executive director and co-founder, said this new language “is kind of what started the backlash from our donor base, which we anticipated. It was just that we anticipated a 50% loss in funding and made adjustments for that. We had an 80% loss in funding and that was too much to overcome.”

They were willing to present the middle finger to half of their donor base on behalf of the liberal agenda. But they thought the other half were corrupt or apathetic enough to go along. God bless the former donors for proving them wrong.

While Callaway-George bleats politically correctly about “conversations around injustice and looking at marginalized communities,” those who follow a religion other than wokeism have provided feedback like the following:

“Do not call yourself a Christian school if you are affirming sin. Jesus died to set us free from sin, not so we can die in it. You abuse kids by telling them sin is good. You are wicked.”

DeSantis also insisted that Florida will remain ‘a great place to raise a family’.

That’s why so many escapees from Democrat-dominated states like New York head for the Sunshine State. As DeSantis puts it,

“States and cities governed by leftist politicians have seen crime skyrocket. They’ve seen their taxpayers abused, they’ve seen medical authoritarianism imposed, and they’ve seen American principles discarded. Give DeSantis the authority and he would promptly stop the massive invasion that Democrats hope will transform America into a Third World country more fit for them to rule.

Disney World’s self-governing power in Florida could be replaced with a state-run board under radical plans backed by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Awful as this movie looks, it is surprising that well under a thousand out of a third of a billion Americans were willing to watch it. AOC’s climate delusions may prove to be highly relevant to our daily lives.

Along with ultra-left Senator Ed Markey, AOC is the ostensible author of the Green New Deal, an apocalyptic program of total social transformation reminiscent of what the Khmer Rouge inflicted on Cambodia. Democrats have already managed to impose some of it through the massive spending blowouts that are largely to blame for runaway inflation. When they achieve the leverage, they will hit us with the rest.

If AOC is the Future of the Democratic Party, as the liberal establishment media and former Democratic National Committee Chair Thomas Perez attest, her climate kookiness isn’t just the random raving of a malevolent lunatic; it is what we will have to live under, assuming Democrats prevail.

Musk replied with a bombshell quote from Roth’s Ph.D. thesis — which was focused on the gay hook-up platform Grindr.

Roth proposed that raunchy sites catering to deviant sexual hookups “accommodate” children. This would be accomplished by “safely connecting queer young adults” — i.e., facilitating homosexual activity between children who don’t know each other. No word from Tony Fauci on how this might help contain HIV and other viruses.

Small wonder Twitter let child sexual exploitation stand even as it censored news stories that hurt Democrats.

A passage in the book – marketed to girls aged between three and 12 advises: ‘If you haven’t gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body’s changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity.’

Only a few years ago, children did not have to think about their “gender identity.” Then came the leftist campaign to sexually derange them for the sake of LGBT recruitment.

It also provides a list of resources for organizations the children can turn to ‘if you don’t have an adult you trust’.

By this they mean, “if your parents are not on board with the LGBT agenda like your teachers probably are and therefore need to be circumvented.”

The book, penned by resident American Girl author Mel Hammond, is currently available on shelves in bookstores across the country and on the company’s website.

Hammond put your tax dollar to work by acquiring a master’s degree in children’s literature from Kansas State.

The book explicitly encourages children to “change certain things” about their bodies and to use puberty blockers.

American Girl’s parent company Mattel put a transgender Barbie doll on the market earlier this year.

The homosexualization/transsexualization of children is corporate policy, just as it is education policy, media policy, and Democratic Party policy. It is liberal establishment policy and therefore ubiquitous.

We now live in a society that is a novelty in the history of human civilization in that Skye can publicly admit to doing this and not have to worry about fathers doing some educating of their own.

The school appear to be perfectly comfortable the methods, with a description of the Tooley’s philosophy appearing on the school’s website.

Public schools are an institution the Long March of the Moonbats has already stomped into submission.

Tooley teaches more than perversion and dysphoria:

“I diligently push to create a safe space and brave space for my students. We work on being uncomfortable, challenged, and communicating. We work to understand our identity, bias, and privilege.”

That is, kids are force-fed the whole woke enchilada, including both cultural and economic Marxism. Taxpayers are forced to fund it.

Tooley bubbles with delight as he describes the school’s “rainbow club”:

“The rainbow club is effectively a GSA [gay–straight alliance] for elementary… One wonderful thing about the rainbow club is talking about different identities, talking about who we are, and talking about how to support the LGBTQ+ community.

According to his creed, “the gender binary is constantly harming us.” He does his part to combat it by encouraging children to reject “societal norms.”

Tooley claims such discussions in class are ‘developmentally appropriate, part of our curriculum because we know our gender at a young age, and we know our sexuality at a young age.’

Sure, some countries will lose their minds over there being a gay character in a Disney movie, which makes it all the more courageous that producer Roy Conli deemed it time to expand the studio’s “Someday My Prince Will Come” idea of romance. It’s normal that some kids should feel as Ethan does, just as it’s normal that his mom is also a pilot.

These days, it is normal for moonbats to dictate that perversity is normal, and for them to claim that compliance with degenerate ruling class ideology is “courageous.” Ramming this down not only American throats but those of foreign audiences is another example of woke imperialism.
